For some reason, the hardest for me has been the 'its not cheating to work on your renders outside the 3D software'. Strange mental block that I think wastes a lot of time, but I'm starting to finally push past it
hey Can you believe that I'v being studying 3D art and working with it for the last 7 yeas, and I still make all of this mistakes, and I think you gave me all the reasons why I don't stand out! thanks m8 great video! 🙂
The reason you make every aspect of the 3D art in the 3D software is because it shows what you can actually do in 3D. Adding touches in Photoshop afterwards is lying.
Nup, in the real world no employer wants you messing about in 3D software if you can do what you need in half the time in compositing or editing. For one, colour correction is a step often overlooked by beginner artists because people think what comes out of the rendering engine must be the final image. Sure, if you're making a portfolio piece about hard surface 3D modelling and you Photoshop in all the details, then that IS lying. But there are lots of times when adding final touches in Photoshop is required. Think adding people in architectural rendering, doing sky replacements or even using different rendering passes to separate features in your scene.

This was my thing with photography too. Getting past the idea of having to get everything right in-camera was a big step
most people: 70% open 30% detail
Ian Hubert: switch those numbers baby!
Great video! I’ve actually replaced the default cube with a human.
Thanks! That sounds like an awesome idea!
Sweet video, glad I followed Curtis Holts suggestion :)

A great video. I still can't properly present my work. The 7:30 rule is new to me too. Thank you!

@@crazystuff7605 sorry, the 70/30 Rule. RUclips made a tag out of it.

Appreciate these helpful tips. Subscribed! And like Garrison, I'll swap in a human for the default cube (great idea!).

1:11 I liked the one on the right because of the detail. The one on the left was bland.
Nº4 should be rule Nº1!
2:34 looks much better to me (washed out)
Nº5 is very important as well!
great video but i would advise not to boost so much low end in your voice
Thanks glad you enjoyed. Unfortunately I can't really change the natural sound of my own voice, kinda stuck with that. 😅
