    • @Jungheinz
      @Jungheinz 7 месяцев назад +6

      well they are not nonsense but A is right, without topology knowledge it might screw you pretty badly. These videos are for with their "no topology needed ever, fuck it, buy this expensive addon instead" approach are shit. These addons are super useful but since those promoters have solid money from their sells they are acting like assholes and purposely mislead people telling them just half of the info. For advanced users they are informative, for beginners are like fucking cancer.

    • @abdallahali7137
      @abdallahali7137 7 месяцев назад

      @@ArijanRace The ones you find directly after you write " blender tutorials " on RUclips. They are all here trying to teach things while telling stories about their lives or their sponsors or some paid addons, ain't nobody got time for that. RUclips should put channels like yours first when people wanna learn blender. You a real one, you tell and teach the truth about this software, might be harsh to some people but it's the truth.

  • @AishaKyes
    @AishaKyes 6 месяцев назад +4

    I'm a beginner and like every beginner I went through countless guides learning this and that but no tutorial ever taught me the most basic stuff like you did. Thank you for that. It does make sense but for a beginner it's not entirely obvious on how to reach it because there are so many tools that "simplify" your work (although they just cause more issues like boolean modifier). Thank you so much really

  • @AAbruptt

    1:15 instead of using modifiers you can just subdivide the cube in edit mode and press ALT + Shift + S then slide your mouse and you will get a perfect sphere out of it

    • @SándorErdélyi-u6q
      @SándorErdélyi-u6q 8 месяцев назад +5

      It's not exactly the same. Your method causes tiny shading problems after "shade smooth", but Aryan's method doesn't. Give it a try and compare both types of sphere in Render display and in Wireframe display as well. In Wireframe display it is clearly visible that Aryan's sphere has got smoother boundary lines everywhere around the sphere, however on your circle you can see stronger breaks on the boundary lines. This is because on your sphere the former cube verteces transformed into a hexagon-like shape, but on Aryan's sphere those shapes are much more like a triangle, that allows the boundary lines to be smoother.

    You make a good point about paying for addons to use on a free program/platform when the softweare can do it already with a little knowhow is mad.

    2:34, I agree that even density help to make your life easier but as we subdivide our geometry 3-4 times, it becomes very difficult make changes in the base shape of the model which we have earlier before subdivision, i saw 3ds max solve this problem with edit poly modifier where we can preserve any level of subdivision and we just add subdivision and edit poly modifier to add secondary detail and another combo of Subdiv+Edit poly modifier to add tertiary detail. then comes the best part, we can edit changes in primary level and it reflected in secondary detail which makes your editing very flexible.
    Instead of selecting faces and press X then dissolve just select faces and press F.
    Also, in the edges dropdown there is an option called select sharp edges which select edges directly.
    Also sometimes shading issues are fixed by weighted normal modifier as well.
    Your tutorials are awesome, you try to show hardness but inner you care so much for artists as you his struggle. it is reflected in your teaching..

    Hey man, thanks for this! I knew most of this of it but was taught it theoretically, separately from actual practice, or just for booleans, seeing how you actually use it in real modelling is so useful. Especially cleaning high poly - I am like "hey, I recognize it!" all the time - but I never really thought of it as of high poly to low poly process. And the shrinkwrap technique was mindblowing - so easy but I never thought about it. Also, for soft, naturally looking edges I use bevel modifier, it's just important to pay attention for overlapping geometry.

    I feel like you might have had a lot of comments on other similar videos, like "You can just use a Boolean modifier for that", or "There's an addon you can buy for that" I think your approach in this example may help deter some of those mindless replies. Anyway, I like you no nonsense approach, you tell it a way that makes it easier to figure out what I have been doing wrong.
