I believe Delsin’s powers can be summed up in some word or idea, as all other conduits do. Cole had electrical energy, Hank had Smoke, Fetch had Neon, Eugene had Video, Bertrand had Mutation, Kuo had Ice, Nix had Napalm. And I believe Delsin’s power is “Conduit”. He is a conduit for Conduits so to speak. That’s why he looks into a person’s head when he takes their power. When a conduit gains their ability, their biology changes to compensate. Memories are a part of your biology, just neural pathways that we can repeat. The memories are basically a substitute for physically draining a conduit. Instead of taking the smoke out of Hank’s body, he takes the memories of Hank, and that allows him to embody that conduit and their ability.
This is probably the best explanation possible. I was hoping S.P. Would add a dlc where you could gain more powers but also explain how his worked in better detail. Are his “sponge” abilities limited? Or can he dabble in a little bit of everything? The evil ending of second sun wasn’t all too clear but I feel if they explored that more it would be awesome

his conduit power is likely the same as the beasts: ray field energy. that's why he gets powers so easily when absorbing energy and why he can absorb other conduits powers.
Yes and no. While he does gain the powers of others he can't take them to there maximum potential as the original conduit he got them from can. It's more like power imitation. He can however switch between them which is what HIS actual power is. Coles power is energy manipulation and internal energy storing. All the powers Cole gets in infamous 2 Kessler also had. Eventually Cole would get the power to go back in time as a conduits powers continue to grow and develop their entire life.

@@alexandervazquez9218it makes more sense for the evil ending to be Canon. the RFI is shown to kill conduits all over the world. the events of second son take place only 7 years after the events of infamous 2 meaning delsin was a child when the RFI was activated meaning delsin should have DIED along with all other conduits across the world as is shown in the good ending. not just that but the forming of the D.U.P. makes no sense in the good ending timeline because all conduits are dead. but if the evil ending is canon then the government forming the D.U.P. to stop evil cole and the new conduits makes total sense. it's just a big plot hole they'll never address.

Not a bad theory problem is he still dies from water immersion so if it was just energy in general, immersion in water shouldn't be so fatal. But then again i remember it was confirmed cole can still shower without issue.
Delsin shakes every conduits hand in Curdan Cay. The idea of him possible wielding multiple power other the four used in the game is just terrifying especially in the evil karma route

I honestly think Infamous Second Son's infamous ending is one of the best in all of videogames. Not only it shows the slow and total corruption of a person, but it also shows Delsin's ascend into what could be considered godhood.
As a kid, Sasha awoke something in me that completely shaped how I am today. Aka kid me was DOWN HORRENDOUS for Sasha. I didn't realize until later when I looked back and I did as many tar sidequests to get more of her dialogue.
When I first played Infamous, I liked Trish better. Looking back now, Sasha was indeed the best girl. I mean, she would do *ANYTHING* for cole, had the power to do so, and was hot as fuck.
Infamous will always be one of my all time favorite series and specifically Cole (and his powers) will always be my favorite protagonist, no matter what new games they came out with. I don't care much for second son, I think I just have a special love and bias for the first two games, protagonist, his powers and the story. Plus Cole's lightning powers are way cooler then any others
Btw the comics they made for the games takes place during in between inFAMOUS 1 and 2 and you see what happens to Alden, moya, and kinda Sasha but not really. It also dives into the guilt Zeke had felt for his actions along with the Cole dealing with the aftermath of the first game really is such a nice layer to add to the story. It helps you understand what happened in inFAMOUS 2 between Cole and Zeke much better especially once Cole apologizes to Zeke it's so much more wholesome 💯

My head cannon: Delsin's parents were conduits and that is why they died because of the RFI. Kessler had two children in Infamous 1 and he was the leader of the First Sons and when the RFI kills conduits all the leaders died as well so all that's left would be the Second Sons or the people to come after the first sons. Given that Delsin has extremely similar powers to Kessler by seeing other's memories and giving memories to other's and the fact that Kessler was able to obtain new powers, such as time travel, It feels like Delsin is somehow related to the First Sons leader and so he is the Second Son in multiple ways. Again this is just my head cannon, not saying it's what actually happened

I can’t express how thankful I am that you took the time to make this video. I grew up playing the Sly Cooper games as a kid and the Infamous games throughout my teenage years, so sucker punch has kinda been growing up with me. Ghost of Tsushima was a little bit of a let down for me personally. I’m glad everyone loved it, but it just felt like a higher quality assassins creed game rather than an innovative new title. Anyways, after all this time I’m still very passionate about the infamous universe and somehow I have never met anyone in person who shares that passion. So even while everybody has played and loved these games, I still feel like they were underrated and didn’t get the attention they properly deserved. It makes me very happy to see videos like this so long after Infamous was buried for an entire console generation. Thank you!
In my own personal head cannon, in Kessler’s timeline The First Sons human trafficked the Akomish Tribe to Empire City for Ray Sphere testing, the blast goes off and Delsin becomes The Beast while Cole isn’t as powerful as he is in the main timeline cause he wasn’t in the middle of the blast.

I never was the biggest fan of Infamous 1. But Infamous 2 and Second Son (First light was also good) are amazing. This video made me quite emotional to relive the journey 11 year old me lived in 2014 through Delsin's eyes and later Cole's. I played the first back in the day but just finished second son and the dlc now and wanted a refresher on the old stuff but you enlightened me to even a little of what was going on second son so well done. Thank you. And I really hope we get another game in series because despite second son not being as good I thought they were still heading in an interesting direction and would love to see more.
1:14:35 Normally even if you hit all your shots you can't kill this thing with just smoke. Even with Max Bad Karma Cinder Blast. But you can get more smoke by jumping off into the water, the fight will restart but you'll have max Cinder Missles. Sadly there is no unique dialog for doing this. You can also beat it without smoke if you can knock it into the water. This has a 50/50 to get you stuck and make you reload the save, or one shot the monster.
I have misunderstood Kuo back then in the good ending thinking she’s evil but no she’s not. Kuo wants save people although they’re already dead, by using John’s powers they become conduits or just die. While Nix only cared about killing John for killing her (pets) which they are the people of the swamp she grew up in, not saving humanity
My Theory of how Some Conduits survived the RFI Activation: Zeke hit the RFI with Cole's Amp and in term: caused it to malfunction. But when he fixed it, the RFI now had it's limits and can only affect some certain conduits.
I always believe the Conduit gene just evolved to be resistant to the effects of the RFI. This also cause conduits to active their powers through emotional stress rather a ray sphere blast. Like Fetch, Eugene and Hank.

Only bringing it up even though it is a very minor detail but around the 15:00 mark you actually describe the evil option of choosing Trish over the doctors, no matter which tower you choose Trish is on the other tower.
I wonder if cole really died 1:23:58 also the little girl, Celia, has paper power and was a secret agent under Augustine until her defeat. She now rebels against anti conduits and Delsin in on the hunt for her
I don't think he did die. In the beginning of the second game, it was stated that he was left in a weak state after battling yhe beast. What if when he k*lled the beast (good ending) he was left in a very weakened state that made it seem as though he was dead. When the lightning hit the boat, it revived him back which is why it had the question mark. That lightning seemed more like an ionic storm, leading me to believe that Cole was conserving his energy to use this to revive himself.
Not only is the evil path in Infamous 2 far more brutal, but it's kind of fucked that Kessler's entire mission was to defeat the beast, and in the evil path, he just ensured it's survival. Killing off Trish for nothing.
Delsin is absolutely cracked for someone who had his power for 1 week. It has been explained by Delsin's brother that he thinks the core is used to help Delsin develop at a faster rate (hence the reason why he isn't getting the full power of the abilities he has taken because he literally is a baby conduit.) Also he defeated someone who practiced 7 years just to protect the conduits she was saving. The explanation for why he needs to absorb the element for his abilities because he hasn't fully develop his powers to spam his abilities because his body isn't used to it yet, because the element in his bodies isn't fully adapted to the conduit's power. Thats all

weird how the ps3 era infamous games are set in fictional cities, the empire city and New Marais which are stand-ins for new york and new orleans. while the ps4 era game is outright set in the real world city of seattle. the map of the beast's advance is also not a map from our world despite it being made to resemble the US east coast
It’s crazy to think that delsin is pretty much a purer version of the ray spheres but also a better version of the beast he can not only gain new powers to already existing ones he can pretty much give anyone powers making him the ultimate conduit to further evolution pretty much sealing the fact that the evolution was gonna happen no matter what

I remember loving infamous 1&2. Operating in a comic realistic world allowed for so much freedom and creativity. I also remember seeing the announcement for Second Son and how the lead creator was talking about post 9/11 America security theater. The tonal shift always felt off to me, but I did like the origami ARG in second son

Loved this so much. Watched it through its entirety. I was too young to grasp the story of the game when I played (I was like 10 years old) and it's nice to now fully appreciate the story, instead of my admiration of the game being founded solely upon nostalgia.

Infamous 1 and infamous second son are the exact same plot but instead of a girl it's a brother there's 3 big bosses in both games and in-between the 2nd and 3rd ones Reggie dies in second son and Trish dies in infamous 1
i think delsin is a conduit from long ago but he didn't notice because his power only allow him to absorb other peoples powers. or he only have conduit genes but he accidently absorb other people powers and then it becomes his powers. and i think theory number 1 is most closer because he never do conduit test before he gets his power

Something really subtle that's not outright stated but heavily implied is how Cole's powers re-develop in Infamous 2. You start with some of your power-set, but severely reduced, essentially "crippled" after the run in with the beast. You develop these powers but there's some you outright can't use at all. It's only when you find and utilise the power-transfer machine that you regain alternate elemental versions of some of your old powers, as well as some new ones. Notably the shield for ice and the bomb. Here's the thing, those powers were ripped away from Cole, like losing a limb. By having Kuo or Nix transfer powers onto you, it functionally grafted those powers back onto him. Also why the Vermak gained the powers, having their powers grafted onto them as unnatural conduits, but also why they all end up going mad as they're not really "built" for the powers.

originally the bad ending was the true ending but after the devs saw that most people chose the good ending they made it the canon ending

I've always thought Cole's real power isn't lightning, but energy. Lightning is just easiest for him to use since it's energy in it's purest form

Given that Delsin has extremely similar powers to Kessler by seeing other's memories and giving memories to other's and the fact that Kessler was able to obtain new powers, such as time travel, It feels like Delsin is somehow related to the First Sons leader and so he is the Second Son in multiple ways.

@@Hal_142no you misunderstood that part the RFI was meant to wipe out all living conduits not the gene itself when Cole and the beast died all the living conduits across the world died with them but the conduit gene is still around that’s why new conduits were born over time

@@blaketfg9374 only cole got the powers because Bertrand's helicopter destroyed the machine before it transferred Cole's powers if you watch the cutscenes its pretty clear that it ripped it from one side and then shoved it in cole and then the helicopter blew it up then cole throws a shot at it as it picks up Bertrand
I can’t express how thankful I am that you took the time to make this video. I grew up playing the Sly Cooper games as a kid and the Infamous games throughout my teenage years, so sucker punch has kinda been growing up with me. Ghost of Tsushima was a little bit of a let down for me personally. I’m glad everyone loved it, but it just felt like a higher quality assassins creed game rather than an innovative new title. Anyways, after all this time I’m still very passionate about the infamous universe and somehow I have never met anyone in person who shares that passion. So even while everybody has played and loved these games, I still feel like they were underrated and didn’t get the attention they properly deserved. It makes me very happy to see videos like this so long after Infamous was buried for an entire console generation. Thank you!
fun fact, you can do the "reveal your neon" fight without using neon, easily. Cleared it several times with pure smoke

In my own personal head cannon, in Kessler’s timeline The First Sons human trafficked the Akomish Tribe to Empire City for Ray Sphere testing, the blast goes off and Delsin becomes The Beast while Cole isn’t as powerful as he is in the main timeline cause he wasn’t in the middle of the blast.

I never was the biggest fan of Infamous 1. But Infamous 2 and Second Son (First light was also good) are amazing. This video made me quite emotional to relive the journey 11 year old me lived in 2014 through Delsin's eyes and later Cole's. I played the first back in the day but just finished second son and the dlc now and wanted a refresher on the old stuff but you enlightened me to even a little of what was going on second son so well done. Normally even if you hit all your shots you can't kill this thing with just smoke. Even with Max Bad Karma Cinder Blast. But you can get more smoke by jumping off into the water, the fight will restart but you'll have max Cinder Missles. Sadly there is no unique dialog for doing this. You can also beat it without smoke if you can knock it into the water. This has a 50/50 to get you stuck and make you reload the save, or one shot the monster.

I have misunderstood Kuo back then in the good ending thinking she’s evil but no she’s not. Kuo wants save people although they’re already dead, by using John’s powers they become conduits or just die. While Nix only cared about killing John for killing her (pets) which they are the people of the swamp she grew up in, not saving humanity
My Theory of how Some Conduits survived the RFI Activation: Zeke hit the RFI with Cole's Amp and in term: caused it to malfunction. But when he fixed it, the RFI now had it's limits and can only affect some certain conduits.
I always believe the Conduit gene just evolved to be resistant to the effects of the RFI. This also cause conduits to active their powers through emotional stress rather a ray sphere blast. Like Fetch, Eugene and Hank.

Only bringing it up even though it is a very minor detail but around the 15:00 mark you actually describe the evil option of choosing Trish over the doctors, no matter which tower you choose Trish is on the other tower.

I don't think he did die. In the beginning of the second game, it was stated that he was left in a weak state after battling yhe beast. What if when he k*lled the beast (good ending) he was left in a very weakened state that made it seem as though he was dead. When the lightning hit the boat, it revived him back which is why it had the question mark. That lightning seemed more like an ionic storm, leading me to believe that Cole was conserving his energy to use this to revive himself.

Not only is the evil path in Infamous 2 far more brutal, but it's kind of fucked that Kessler's entire mission was to defeat the beast, and in the evil path, he just ensured it's survival. Killing off Trish for nothing.
Delsin is absolutely cracked for someone who had his power for 1 week. It has been explained by Delsin's brother that he thinks the core is used to help Delsin develop at a faster rate (hence the reason why he isn't getting the full power of the abilities he has taken because he literally is a baby conduit.) Also he defeated someone who practiced 7 years just to protect the conduits she was saving. The explanation for why he needs to absorb the element for his abilities because he hasn't fully develop his powers to spam his abilities because his body isn't used to it yet, because the element in his bodies isn't fully adapted to the conduit's power. Thats all

weird how the ps3 era infamous games are set in fictional cities, the empire city and New Marais which are stand-ins for new york and new orleans. while the ps4 era game is outright set in the real world city of seattle. the map of the beast's advance is also not a map from our world despite it being made to resemble the US east coast

It’s crazy to think that delsin is pretty much a purer version of the ray spheres but also a better version of the beast he can not only gain new powers to already existing ones he can pretty much give anyone powers making him the ultimate conduit to further evolution pretty much sealing the fact that the evolution was gonna happen no matter what

Whenever Cole used his lightning tether, it's like the equivalent of Spiderman's web slinging.
I remember loving infamous 1&2. Operating in a comic realistic world allowed for so much freedom and creativity. I also remember seeing the announcement for Second Son and how the lead creator was talking about post 9/11 America security theater. The tonal shift always felt off to me, but I did like the origami ARG in second son

i think delsin is a conduit from long ago but he didn't notice because his power only allow him to absorb other peoples powers. or he only have conduit genes but he accidently absorb other people powers and then it becomes his powers. and i think theory number 1 is most closer because he never do conduit test before he gets his power

Would have loved to see you spend like 5 mins at the end to talk about what you thought about the story's and their endings as well man. You told it well
Something really subtle that's not outright stated but heavily implied is how Cole's powers re-develop in Infamous 2.
You start with some of your power-set, but severely reduced, essentially "crippled" after the run in with the beast. You develop these powers but there's some you outright can't use at all.
It's only when you find and utilise the power-transfer machine that you regain alternate elemental versions of some of your old powers, as well as some new ones. Notably the shield for ice and the bomb.
Here's the thing, those powers were ripped away from Cole, like losing a limb. By having Kuo or Nix transfer powers onto you, it functionally grafted those powers back onto him.
Also why the Vermak gained the powers, having their powers grafted onto them as unnatural conduits, but also why they all end up going mad as they're not really "built" for the powers.
