I wish Second Son had gone with the "evil" ending of 2. Imagine God King Cole going around the world, powering up conduits and destroying a city at the time. Then along comes Delsin (in this situation I'd set it in Asia so Delsins name would be changed), a conduit who's power is to absorb others powers. He's the first person who poses a genuine threat to Cole, and now we've got a really interesting conflict of Delsin trying to gather enough power to take on Cole. In this situation the good ending could simply be killing Cole, no one should have that power and stopping Coles mission, saving a few Asian cities from his destruction. Evil ending Delsin absorbs the power, forgetting Coles somewhat moral attempt to save humanity for the plague and instead becoming a self-absorbed dictator of the entire planet. If they were to be ambitious, show that God King Cole is actually a good leader. He's fair, uses his power to enforce justice not his own personal desires. How they're handled would be based entirely upon how you've lived up until the moment of the decision. That way it can be a seamless gray area story most of the time. That's the idea karma system
@@cryguy0000 there would be 5 endings at most tbh. It's pretty easy to do. Not that I'm a game designer, I just mean the parameters are easy to lay out. True good, neutral good, neutral, neautral evil, true evil. Im sure sucker punch could do that easily.

It would've been really interesting to see Cole take over the world. Maybe a couple of Conduits (including Delsin) could create a sort of resistance against Cole. Perhaps at some point Delsin becomes the leader of said resistance and has to learn about the responsibilities of being a conduit and a leader, in turn building his character. The endings could be between Delsin joining or beating Cole and taking his powers, thus becoming "The Beast" (inFAMOUS) or Delsin defeating Cole and persuading him to use the RFI together to save humanity, at a cost losing their powers (Hero)
@@ryanhowe6543 yeah, the problem with the choices in inFamous is that most of them are just your character being uncharacteristically dickish. The good endings don't feel as forced.
The beast ending is honestly the only “bad” choice I believe canon Cole would do. But even in that ending, Cole was still given some lines of dialogue like “they know they’re about to die” and “c’mon, join us!” In a rather villainous tone that makes me question “how is this the same guy regarding canon, especially that the beast ending was originally meant to be canon
Having your Karma determine the properties of the new powers you get form Kuo or Nix would be interesting. An Evil Cole using cryokinesis to fire sharp shards of ice into foes or shattering frozen enemies. A Heroic Cole using napalm tar to immobilize enemies and summoning critters to distract rather than harm foes. (This one isn’t as strong of a case since napalm is typically harmful anyways)
We need to see Cole 1 more time he still hasn't learned Lightning Blade & instant fast travel via summoning a lightning bolt being enveloped in it & reappears being slammed down from the heavens 😁
As much as I would love an infamous 3 following a reborn Cole, I don't want them to bring him back. It would lessen the impact of his sacrifice. Now if he's sent into an alternate dimension like the Beast did (kinda) where he has to fight crazy shit, that'd be cool.

amazing video man, I grew up with these games & you have no idea how good it feels to see people still acknowledging one of my favorite ps3 game franchises.
Man… infamous 2 just made you feel like a god sometimes. Just throw a tornadoe at a base full of enemies or drain the energy out of every soul near you while flying and throwing cars and shooting lighting out of your hands…I remember the tagline enjoy your powers and this game truly made you feel that. While then it’s also dropping one of the best stories in a game ever. That evil ending just sticks with you right in the gut while then the hero ending breaks your heart but you go down as a good man. Just so much fun.
I haven't even watched the full video yet, just started actually, but I just wanted to say, I absolutely adore your videos Aqua, you do such a great job and I can tell a LOT of work and thought goes into them and I always love watching them!! I totally understood where you were coming from with your video about 1, it has a lot stupid stuff in it, a lot of bullshit enemies that one shot you, Empire City isn't the prettiest (personally I don't mind a really grimey looking city but I understand it isn't for everyone), the graphics have not aged well at all practically, in fact they were already kinda dated when the game came out, cause there were a lot of prettier games coming out and already out when Infamous released. But despite all it's faults, I love the world, I love the story, I love the characters, I even love the gameplay (aside from the more broken enemies), I even love the voice for Cole in 1 as well, I love his 1 and 2 voices equally!! I feel you though, that 2 improved on 1 in almost every way imaginable!! Second Son was a huge letdown for me!! Alright, gonna shut up and actually watch now!! XD
The evil ending for InFamous 2 is legit one of the saddest moments in gaming for me. First Zeke and Cole's understanding that neither of them can look away, they've both gotten to the point that they can't back down and even though Zeke knows he stands no chance against a practical demigod, he still holds his gun up. Then when Cole has to take over as the beast, man. We were absolutely robbed of a good story after Second Son came out. And they used playstation trophy data to decide which ending they considered canon, are you kidding me? An InFamous 3 or an alternate Second Son where you either fight against a genocidal Cole sinking deeper into the darkness in order to cope with being the Beast or you help him in his mission would have been fantastic, again, we were robbed.
And what really pisses me off is from a video interview with the director talking about “we wanted to honor their end choices” A CHOICE THAT WAS MADE FOR US!! Are you fucking shitting me?! You might as well end the story at 2 already
About that karma decision on taking Kuo's or Nix's powers: I think the reason it was tied to karma was because Kuo never wanted her powers in the first place, so taking them would be doing her a favor (Good). But taking Nix powers could've been seen as evil either because 1. she was never at risk of loosing her power from the machine, or 2. just the fact that your choosing her power and forcing Kuo to deal with hers for a little longer. Then again, I could be wrong about both, it's been a few years.
Gotta say even after everything, I still much prefer the first voice actor. I wish he had a chance to voice this game. My biggest issue is the inconsistency of the voice
Right? He lost so much after the 1st game, I thought his rough voice made sense, especially after Trish dying and Zeke's betrayal, it should have stayed dark and pained
The good ending...man that still gives me chills to this day. One of the very few games in my life that made me cry more than I expected. It's one of the best exclusives made for the PlayStation during the seventh generation, and it still holds up to this day.
I'd really like to see a video on Infamous: Festival of Blood. As I'm sure you know, it's stand-alone DLC, and while it essentially does everything Infamous 2 did, I think as a game, it does enough different, while minimizing its scope, to truly stand on its own. And I guess it shows how much Sucker Punch listened to fan feedback because you actually can fly in that game lol. Either way, the game feels a lot more isolated or self-contained than the others.
Very Nice, One of my very favorite games of all time. This series is CRIMINALLY underrated. Deserves so much more praise. I’m gonna be typing my thoughts as I go in the video so I don’t forget. Yeah, The End Credits them “Fade Away” is a great track, fits really well with both endings and the pretty somber tone of the whole game really. Really thinking about it, I’m pretty surprised the games still looks as good as it does. The art style really does it for me as well. Bit of a Nit pick, but the plague isn’t actually a plague, or a virus, it’s radiation poisoning. The grind rails and the wires in the game were really improved from Infamous 1, the wires really flow into one another more, which I believed you mentioned in your first video. They go into one another without Cole having to adjust his direction and slowing down, this made traversal much faster as well. Personally I loved flood town, I don’t really have a reason, I just find it really fun to navigate and zip around in, maybe because Cole is so low to the ground. Haha, no way. I never noticed that Subway at all in any of my playthroughs. Strange. The Tether is great move I agree. Good fun to whip around with. I never really used the Ionic Drain. It just never seemed necessary. I only used it when I wanted to look cool. I also never used the telekinesis power. I agree, Amp is a great addition. I don’t know if you’ll mention it, but the mission where you power up the area by using the long range bolt thing are really boring and needlessly frustrating. Really should have had missions similar to the sewer missions. Kessler still had a more interesting boss fight then The Beast or Bertrand. Karma is lot more simplified. There isn’t much depth to many of the choices. It would have been better if they kits made it so you have to stick to your karma when you made the first couple choices. Finished the video, another great one. The endings of this game really bring out the feels. I can’t wait for the next upload.
Man the Hero/Villain system that infamous has just never really clicked with me. Your choices have 0 consequences And even characters like Nix even though they've told you time and time again that she doesn't want anything to do with you she still keeps popping up just to give Cole the chance to choose evil
These games are amazing but honestly the karma system feels like a gimmick more often than not. Just playing the hero route for every game is basically just the experience as intended IMO
My first ever game on my PS3 was InFamous 2. I fell in love with the game and played it atleast 10 times. I bought the first infamous after about 3 or 4 years later just to catch up on the whole story. Ah, the good old days
I would've liked if Nix's path in the story was her learning to be more heroic, she starts by giving Cole evil missions but tries to change the more Cole refuses those ideas. So that in the final decision, Kuo, the heroic one, flips to John's side while Nix chooses the heroic path. The revenge for her pets thing kinda felt forced on Nix, it felt like manufactured hate to force Nix to choose a side when normally she probably would've chose to save herself like Kuo.
I might not be a gamer today if my dad hadn’t brought home a PS3 with inFamous in the box. I had no idea what the game was, but the guy on the cover looked cool so I popped it in and was HOOKED!
I came across INFAMOUS by chance because it was a demo on my dads ps3. When I bought the game INFAMOUS 2 had just come out. I played through INFAMOUS then beat 2. It’s my favourite series beside Dead Space. Cole and Zeke will always hold such a dear place in my heart. I love those two. Fantastic video.
I remember when the beta gameplay first came out, Cole had been totally redesigned. New face, new voice, he had hair. He looked a lot like Nathan Drake and the fans were not happy and Sucker Punch delayed the release so they could change Cole back to look closer to how he'd looked in the original game.
I remeber this all to well. Had the Gameinformer magazine with his redesign thinking who the fuck is this guy lmao. So glad SP changed his design for the actual release.
One of my favorite games of all times. And one of my favorite OSTs for sure. One thing I would have loved is if they added two more endings. Ending C: Choosing the evil karma ending while being good karma Ending D: Choosing the good Karma ending while being evil karma.
I’d also just take some different dialogue Like if you did the bad ending with good karma, instead of zeke saying “you know I have to try” he just asks you “why?” Or if you do the good ending with evil karma, the beast goes “you of all people should see why we do this.”
26:00 is one of the only times you get to see cole's strength as a conduit. I wish Sucker Punch allowed for more examples of the changes inside his body besides energy projection.
Infamous 2 was great, but I slightly prefer 1 despite its glaring flaws because I liked Empire City's atmosphere. I hated that Moya and Alden were killed off screen in a comic book. It was weird not seeing them be referenced all that much in 2. If they make a new Infamous game, I'd like to see them bring Sasha back since it's unclear whether or not she's dead.
I loved both games but Infamous 2 was just amazing. I love the new and varied enemies and locations. The story, like you pointed out, is very lackluster but I loved playing through the first game as good or evil and then starting the second game already on that side. And the DLC was crazy. I mean it makes no sense what so ever but it's fun and different.
The only issue I had with the main story is how it tricks you into thinking main cutscenes will change depending on your karma but they only do it once (upon actually entering New Marais) and then drop the concept entirely.
I was about 13 when i played infamous now I'm 21 now crazy how time flies i remember not having to worry about anything but playing as much as I can before i had to fall asleep. I'll never forget this game i had so much good memories
19:30 Well, I actually mostly only used the Ionic Freeze when I got it because I noticed one very important thing. Friendly-fire The storm I've used it combat against masses of enemies, but I try to avoid if I'm around allies because I like to think good Cole avoids needlessly hurting his allies (and I also like having their rocket launcher help). It covers a wider area and you can use it in a huge brawl to leave the rebel allies completely untouched. I basically never used the storm since its only useful purpose at that point would be to take down helicopters, but redirect rockets do that just fine.
An Infamous 1 and 2 HD remaster would be super dope.

I have this headcanon that Infamous one when the ray sphere went off it damage Coles vocal cords and they just didn't fully healed until the second game. But that's just a theory a stupid theory thanks for reading.

You just made the voice change logical and canon, well done 😂👌

@@shellyrpender A remaster would scratch that itch, my PS3 died last year and I've been dying to revist them (though a new game would delight me)
@@cc-skits655 I agree, and with the remaster they could add more side missions and a remaster of the ugc system, so there is more replay ability, and adding more abilities would be nice too.
I honestly just wish there were more options, more endings. Non colour coded. A good a 'bad' selection of endings. How they're handled would be based entirely upon how you've lived up until the moment of the decision. That way it can be a seamless gray area story most of the time. That's the idea karma system
No what you're saying is you want a game based on choices and consequences, not good or bad. You would like Dragon Age.
The problem with that is it would take an extremely long time to create each possible ending/detail would take forever to make
You meaning a anti hero route where you are neither good or bad
Honestly that would be cool for the series
@@cryguy0000 there would be 5 endings at most tbh. It's pretty easy to do. Not that I'm a game designer, I just mean the parameters are easy to lay out.
True good, neutral good, neutral, neautral evil, true evil. Im sure sucker punch could do that easily.
I argue New Vegas does this. The Courier has multiple different ending paths, and you can get each one at any karma level

I'm so glad you're giving this series some love. The first two are classics and you almost never hear people talking about them.
So true man! I hear everyone talking about the Ps4 game Im like man....

Yeah
I'm so upset I didn't see this when it came out. I love inFamous so much I even have a tattoo of Cole. No one talks about the games these days and it sucks
One of my favorite games as a kid. Seriously I hope Sucker Punch makes a New inFAMOUS game or even a REMASTER for the first two games.
The amount of nostalgia I felt while watching this video makes me want to play this game again. Really good video, you did an awesome job with this, will definitely watch your other videos! Infamous 2 is definitely always gonna be my favorite game.
I really wished they made the bad ending in Infamous 2 canon, so that we could get more progression in Cole's story than getting Infamous Second Son.
Yeah, they could have had Cole as the antagonist for the next few games in the series.
I’ve honestly come to terms that the RFI ending is canon, Cole acts more in character anyway
Infamous Movement: Scared Mankey
Infamous 2 Movement: Sacred Spider-Mankey

Killing Zeke was the saddest thing of my whole childhood when I first chose to do the evil playthrough.
This is my absolute favorite game of all time. I remember playing the demo a ton until I got the full game.
Same, its the GOAT of games
I still havent got the full one and still play the Demo 😭
I’ve been waiting for this one so thank you aqua, you legend of a man!!
The touch at the end saying “I love this series , and im sure gonna miss it” Like how Zeke says “I love you brother, and im sure gonna miss ya”
All my homies HATE the valve cap mission in flood town
YES forreal
We're a hive mind lol
That mission was fucking torture, also that gas balloon mission in the first game, that took me way longer then it should have.
“I love this series, and I’m sure gonna miss it.” Did you have to rip out my heart like that? I was having such a nice time watching this too.
the most underrated channel, hope you gain a ton of subs man
We need to see Cole 1 more time he still hasn't learned Lightning Blade & instant fast travel via summoning a lightning bolt being enveloped in it & reappears being slammed down from the heavens 😁
As much as I would love an infamous 3 following a reborn Cole, I don't want them to bring him back. It would lessen the impact of his sacrifice. Now if he's sent into an alternate dimension like the Beast did (kinda) where he has to fight crazy shit, that'd be cool.
@@ratatoskrnuts6354 if they bring Cole back i want him as a secondary role like a mentor that teaches you you know hes powerful and the oldest Conduit and he teaches younger ones how to life and use their Abilities for the good.
It would’ve been awesome as hell if they made second son based on the evil ending of infamous 2. Cole being the main villain wouldve been dope
Dude, the quality of these video essays is excellent. Keep up the great work Aqua!
4:00 I remember reading somewhere that the ray sphere fried Coles vocal chords which is why he sounded so gruff in the first game
“It sounds so much cooler than firebird”
Johnny Lawrence - “how dare you.”
I’m a simple man. Aqua makes a video. I watch a video. Simple
Anyone else wish we got another inFAMOUS with Cole?
Yesssssss
no
I get chills every time I see that Good Karma Ending cutscene. Cole going all authruistic suicide route for the greater good hits like a damn truck for someone like me who was really invested in the series and platinum'ed all the games. The series could go with a reboot or new game entirely because I wasn't satisfied with Delsin's story, it was the weakest for me by far (plot, stakes, even characters besides Fetch).
I love how when you plat this game, it gives you access to all of the powers, no matter the karma or decision you made in the game. Combining firebird strike and ice launch was awesome as a kid because, It was just like the firebird clip in the game xp purchase screen, where they combined both moves.
Sucker punch went from two great games (infamous) to a masterpiece (Ghost of Tsushima). Most people say naughty dog and Santa Monica are the best Sony studios but for me sucker punch became one of my best if not the best studio from Sony with Ghost and I’m really looking forward to more of their projects.

I DID not know it was a different voice actor from the first game 😧 great work
I gotta say the InFamous 1 Cole voice actor was way cooler. He sounded like he should: in pain, suffering mentally and physically, unable to fully grasp what he has become and was has happened to his home. I definitely feel like he should have sounded just as gruff, especially after losing Trish in the first one
Something I wish came back in infamous 2 was Cole's black lightning

amazing video man, I grew up with these games & you have no idea how good it feels to see people still acknowledging one of my favorite ps3 game franchises.
Best INFAMOUS Game imo, loved it.
This made me super nostalgic, Great video man!
I just watched the Video... IT IS GREAT. As always. It's also admireable, how you get so many videos done while you're also at university.
YOOOO JUST AS I GO ON MY LUNCH BREAK I LOBE YOU
Love your videos man keep up the great work. I have all of the trophies in the inFamous franchise
XD
Damn this comment really made my day lol thank you 🙏 😊
For the climbing up the poles to the rail car lines dont need the ice launch. You can just use car jump..
Second son was still an amazing game though but yeah there definitely shouldve been a game for both scenarios
I'm going to be honest, I think the evil ending would be most fitting to second son
Even strange considering that in every game ever the good ending is the one people go for the most is just that way.
Tbh I didn't realize his voice wasn't the same as the original. Lol
Just because they listened to the fans doesn't mean it's good, specially that feature.
That’s why I’m glad Ghost of Tsushima didn’t have a karma system
_We need a new Infamous game bruh_
Too bad we ain’t getting one the ps5 would be perfect for it
My first ever game on my PS3 was InFamous 2. I fell in love with the game and played it atleast 10 times. I bought the first infamous after about 3 or 4 years later just to catch up on the whole story.
Ah, the good old days
We’re in the beginning of the PS5 era, and yet there’s STILL no new infamous game 😑
Maybe infamous second son2?
Why is more evil to throw an empty train to the enemy base than use cops as human shields.
Easily my favorite PS3 exclusive, and one of the best games on that generation of consoles. Absolute masterpiece.
Damn. No mention of the Vermaak Ice Bro. He was the real MVP.
R.I.P. Cried when I took him down.
Yes sirrrr
Try playing Infamous 1 all the way through on hard without switching difficulty.
Pretty hard but satisfying when you beat the game.
Great video made me look at my favourite game in a more critical way and just makes me want another Cole led infamous game even more
You are doing a great job, can't wait to see what is next!
I appreciate a lot of effort goes into these videos. Well done and keep up the good work!
Only thing I disliked about infamous 2 was that Cole's evil lightning went from red to orange
Keep up the great work man each vids a banger
On a technical level I completely agree 2 is an improvement. Aesthetically I enjoyed the look of the powers in 1.
One of my favorite games of all times. And one of my favorite OSTs for sure.
One thing I would have loved is if they added two more endings.
Ending C: Choosing the evil karma ending while being good karma
Ending D: Choosing the good Karma ending while being evil karma.
If we ever get an HD collection, they better add that to it
I’d also just take some different dialogue
Like if you did the bad ending with good karma, instead of zeke saying “you know I have to try” he just asks you “why?”
Or if you do the good ending with evil karma, the beast goes “you of all people should see why we do this.”
blast from the past. This game was an awesome time when I was a kid. Can't wait to see ya cover the DLC. Keep up the good content Aqua we love ya man.
I love these two games, you posted this just as I remembered them (InFamous 1 being in a quarantine/lockdown state, crazy)
My favorite aspect about Infamous 2 is that you can gain both good and evil powers from completing the game twice.
19:30
Well, I actually mostly only used the Ionic Freeze when I got it because I noticed one very important thing.
Friendly-fire
The storm I've used it combat against masses of enemies, but I try to avoid if I'm around allies because I like to think good Cole avoids needlessly hurting his allies (and I also like having their rocket launcher help).
It covers a wider area and you can use it in a huge brawl to leave the rebel allies completely untouched. I basically never used the storm since its only useful purpose at that point would be to take down helicopters, but redirect rockets do that just fine.
Your idea's with the power swapping and power mapping to buttons should be pretty simple to implement
Fun fact: infamous 2 evil ending was suppose to be canonical but player data made them change it
