Well.... they can't as those weren't clothes.
If they were thinking of removing his "clothes", they'd attempt cutting them off with the scalpel but Mercer woke up.

So that means had the autopsy team removed Mercer's clothes, we'd instead have a naked Alex Mercer rampaging through New York since he forgot what clothes are?
But seriously, even with the whole "virus replicated every particle of his body" why did it also replicated his clothes too? Seems that they either have to make it like Mystique's power or have players hunt for clothes every 5 minutes.
@@thientuongnguyen2564 Maybe since the clothes have Mercer's sweat and blood on them they become technically a part of him or the virus used his memory to replicate his form, his clothes included as a body for it to move like a human being and blend in to one as well.
The jacket was never removed, as he lives in it 24h/day every day for so many years. So it is most likely grown into his skin.

I really want there to be a Prototype 3 where Alex is alive inside Heller. The whole game is about which character you want to see on top. In the end you get to decide the dominant personality.
That would have been great, they had so many oppourtunities they could have just said he WAS the infection and just have them reconstruct his body from any organics🤷🏻♂️ (that being the laziest, off of the top of my head solution to the problem of heller absorbing him) although i always thought piriah would turn out to be mercer.
@@jasonr.c.390 both Alex and Heller are the infection, difference is Heller was human and hold on to his humanity, while Alex, after his spiritual journey which was, for whatever reason, restricted to a comic book saw humans as something far worse than a virus and wanted to make a world where everyone is equal, as in everyone is a virus

Considering the fact that Alex Mercer came back from just a cell I think there's plenty of reason to believe that the 2 or 3 sets of arms that Keller ripped off of Mercer are more than enough for him to return for a 3rd game. Or perhaps the 3rd game could involve Keller having to suppress Mercer and it could have 2 possible endings, good ending is Keller finds a way to completely suppress him or get rid of the virus completely. And the bad ending could be Mercer takes full control of Keller's body making it his own allowing him to continue his plans. Either way they need to make a 3rd Prototype

my theory is that Alex Mercer, or the one that we knew, DID in fact die at the end of the first game. What comes back is a mere fragment of him. Remember, Mercer is long gone after Penn Station; what we have is a mutated Blacklight that thinks its Mercer.
After being exposed to the memories of dozens of people and the various corruptive influences of consuming the mutated creatures like Hunters, and then Greene herself, the small pool of blood Alex regenerates from is not Mercer anymore; its a culmination of all of his horrific actions, experiences and memories. Its a fragment of the virus that just happened to pick Mercer's form.
The story really drives home how corrupted Mercer has become, how much the virus has consumed of his mind and humanity. He completely forgot about Dana, he now kills for pleasure. This isnt Mercer, its a shadow of what he became.
it was explained in the comics that after he lost his humanity he went soul searching around the world to find a purpose again. but each location he visited he just causes him to hate humanity more and more. which leads to him just going "fuck it. im gonna kill humanity again."

ive played prototype as a really young kid and recently remembered playing these games so much, these games along with infamous and just cause are so nostalgic for me, thank you for making this content i love it so much❤
Technically speaking, Mercer in Protoype isn't really Mercer. Alex died at Penn Station, and the Blacklight Virus managed to get inside his wounds. The virus simply revived the body and gained sentience through the fractured memories of a dead man.
Which is why it has no previous knowledge of anything when it wakes up in the morgue
I've only played the Infamous saga, I've always heard comparisons with the prototype saga, I'm glad I saw this video, I liked it a lot
Can we get a 3rd game already? Heck, I'll be happy with a full remake at this point. Just give me more prototype.

There is a huge possibility that Alex is still alive after being killed by heller. He could only be contained by each of his body part and blood being locked up away forever and not even a worm gets in to it

She rejected a parasite whereas alan needed help to do so.

After seeing death battle I wanna here people’s opinions would you all want to see a Prototype and Infamous crossover granted there’s probably lore reasons to stop that from happening, but if that’s the case, just have it not be Canon to any of the infamous or prototype games

Bro they can do soo much with prototype 3. What if the Mercer James Heller kills isnt the real one. The virus could mutate and become sentient to the point where it can change into other life forms. In this case the virus took the form of Mercer and gets eaten. The game could pick up with Heller finding out the real Alex is alive they could team up and we could play with both characters.
Same thing i believe, i may like the mercer skin and loadout. But he is the virus, and there is no "mercer" character now without the virus. He should be able to regenerate from the virus itself.

Alex wasn't gaining a slightly resistance to bloodtox, he developed an outright immunity to it. The both red and black light mutate to become resistant if not immune to attacks. Like doomsday from DC.

I feel like Prototype 3 should take inspiration from Shadow of Mordor and Cyberpunk 2077 where you play as one character with two personality working together to fight a greater evil.
One of the things i don't understand about second game is why was mercer staying at a single isolated city instead of trying to infect as many countries as possible. It would be impossible to contain or nuke the virus if he was constantly traveling and spreading the virus.
Also what's the point of giving powers to an enemy like heller? Trying to manipulate him will not work since he can always find the truth by consuming the allies of mercer.
Dana was also working against alex and he was doing nothing about it.
Alex was too good to last.

If you make a prototype 3 video or a video on a potential reboot of prototype. can i say that both options need to have compelling antihero stories?
So in the prototype games you can essentially gone on gta style rampages and your not totally a morally good guy in either game. But there are people who claim its just edgy and bland characters. Alex is considered emo and heller as just angry.
Id love a story where it keeps the gameplay elements of what makes prototype but improves on the stories and characters to make them compelling antiheros or even anti villains.

Heller truly is a good father I mean he did all that just to save his daughter and even spared some a guys life and the dude sided with him so he could save his daughter truly shows that some characters become evil where as some choose to become good overall I want a new addition to the prototype series but I also think that they ended it wonderfully with this game
I honestly don't get Mercer's change from unlikely anti-hero to mastermind villain. it felt so absurd.
There are a lot of things that are never explained in the first game.
Like what the hell are runners, why are they always female, what makes Alex so special, what happened to Elizabeth green’s child, what the hell is alex, because he’s something new.

If they ever make a prototype 3 they should finally bring in pariah, he should be the final villain or main character to end the series, or if they won’t make prototype 3 then they could make a spin off game where you play as black watch
I really hated what they did to Alex in the second game. Idk where he came from trying to expose and help to a sadistic asshole with a god complex...
Hated it at first but now I realize it makes sense since the virus first took over mercer as its host along with his personality (generally a good person) then upon consuming so many people with different ideology would somehow change his outlook in life.

Tbh I love both p1 and p2 for different reasons.
P1 is an overly dark and edgy super"hero" game, with a much deeper move set and more engaging enemies.
P2 is still dark but also unironically hilarious, with a much simpler and easy to pick up combat system. My only gripe is the Shields, they are too op. Id much rather have armor instead.
The dialogue (besides Mercers) and camera is much better. With better formed levels

I wouldn't say Alex is SOLELY behind the outbreak. He did not create the virus and a protoype virus was released before. I give him 50/50 blame. Also I'd argue that this was the greatest disaster in human history.

With the second giving a look into what alex mercer was doing leading up to releasing the virus that second time and why he ended up as the bad guy. Pretty cool stuff

A fantastic example of how the color of a character doesn't matter as long as the story rocks, we are all human Afterall, ironic in this case 😅 Heller isn't human anymore, I digress, PROTOTYPE 2 is a masterpiece in my opinion, now they're just pushing Agendas and making characters black just for the sake of it.

Honestly prototype 2 kinda ruined the series for me
I always preferred Alex over heller mainly cause i could not stand Heller cussing every 3 seconds and just screaming crazy sh*t like a madman yeah i mean i cuss too but jesus the guy even outpaces me at how many f**ks per minute he outputs. That and the fact he raged over his "LACK OF COMPUTER SKILLS" ..... DUDE HAS CONSUMED SCIENTISTS YET CANT FIGURE OUT TECHNOLOGY ??? Kinda more than a little stupid .... The only quality i liked in heller was the dynamic for him and his daughter ....
I always wondered if Alex cokd just regenerate from his arms and there would be 2 Mercers one with a seriosily evil persoanlity created by the arms that still had the minds and consciousness' of all the evolved and after having so many personalities in one mass it'd go completely off the rails meanwhile the TRUE Alex Mercer was in Heller's mind learning from James' memories and regaining his personality from the first game and most of all HIS HUMANITY the 2 need to work together after realizing the copycat Mercer is a force to be reckoned with and itd take BOTH OF THEM to defeat "VIRUS MERCER" and after the two do what needs to be done they start working on a cure and bam everyone wins .....
Dont know who else would like this but me personally i WISH THIS WAS NOT A CONCEPT i truly think that the virus altered what was left of Alex after the nuke and he can be reawakened and when heller "killed" mercer he just split the fake Alex from the REAL Alex and he finds a way out and james tries killing him but realizes hes outclassed and is forced to hear out Alex once he explains what cause the shift in perosnality from most of hus brain being wiped out by the nuke he was able to comeback through heller .... sounds like an anime olot but you gotta admit sounds liek it could be possible alex has came back before though what came back wasnt TRULY him until he incubated in Hellers body
