Hey Brian... Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Your channel is both informational and entertaining! I very much appreciate you and the camera crew!
I'm just another viewer/subscriber. I don't know Brian or the lovely and talented camera crew but I've been watching him since he was modding the Delta Ray and flying airliners in parking lots and he is definitely a straight shooter on his opinion. I find his opinion valid because he is hands down the most meticulous rc reviewer on any platform. I only take the time to say that because I cant contribute financially and this channel has helped me tremendously through the years and I know it is and will be a benefit to other pilots and those who need a chuckle. So this is my attempt to contribute to Brian Phillips RC
Thanks Shane! We really appreciate the kind and affirming words. We know not everyone is going to be able to contribute to the finances, but even just watching the videos does help, if you had forgotten the millions and millions of ads that play - Thanks Google ;) - this too helps us to fund the channel...so you ARE helping. Either way, we get it, and thanks for being here with us. Maybe some day in the future, you will be in a different position, but that's not why we're here - we're here because we love doing it (Well I do....maybe not so much the Camera crew - LOL) and we only see the funding to have more time to dedicate to this work. I suspect you already get it, but just want to make sure you know we understand and appreciate you being here with us, however you come!
Love the backyard flying challenge Brian! The landings were buttery smooth. I think you bring all the uncommon perspectives of RC flying to your channel. People want to see if what the limits are and what happens if you fly in your backyard. I appreciate the risk you take to have some fun and push the limits.
Thanks Aaron! I'm glad you get it ;) We love being where we are now too, we used to get hate all the time from AMA types for flying over our neighborhood. So glad that's over ;) Thanks Again & More to come!!!
Love the videos. Just found out about your channel this morning and guess what I have been doing most of the day today? Yes watching your videos. Just ordered the Aero Scout. Can’t wait to start flying. Thanks
Awesome, and welcome Shane! Now, 1500+ videos to go ;) Thanks for being here with us. When you go back to work, step 1 - get the boss hooked, so you don't get fired for watching all day long - LOL ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC so I got the AeroScout 1.1 and crashed. Unfortunately one of the servos is no longer with us lol. The exact one that comes with it is on back order til next month. Do you know of one that will work?
Well I’m glad to say I have this on order now to have a home like a few of my other plane’s like the draco, and commander plus the carbon cub s to go along with my T-28b and the umx turbo timber thanks to your videos!

This is one of the biggest reasons for the recommendation, but I get it if you'd rather stay more on the OpenTX side of things...just don't want to leave you high and dry when you need help. Hummm.....I don't think so, but if you need the additional channels - YEAH, otherwise, the new radio is way faster, and has audio events. The DX18 is higher quality, but it was one step down from the BEST you could get in it's time...so not a big surprise there. I LOVE my DX18, but I'd never recommend anyone getting one now, unless it was a stop-gap, since support on the DX lineup will end at some point, since the processor isn't fast enough for some of the newer features. With the "forward programming" update - the thing just about came to a screeching fault... Just my 2 cents...but I really do love the NX8 and think it's gonna be the "thing" for the average RC "joe" for some time. The NX6 is pretty sweet too, but I just won't recommend anyone get it for the price difference going to the 8...just would be chasing good money after bad. P.S. I got my DX18 Gen1 after it was discontinued ;) I got a GREAT price on it.
I respect Brian's opinions more that mine but that's a good question. Not better just more channels and different. Do what I do and buy them all. The NX series has magnetic gimbals which is super smooth.
The DX18 is sweet, but the NX8 feel just as good. There was ONE detail I just remembered. The Trim for the ELEVATOR is easier to get too on the DX18 than the NX8 - strange that I just thought of that, but it's true.
We use my Samsung Galaxy S9. For audio, we use Rodes mics (Mics amzn.to/3grY9kE) and a cell phone holder (Mic Handel - Handle amzn.to/2RP99jp). Here's some advice. I could talk about this for hours, but I can't devote that much time here - I have hundreds more comments to get too, but here's some tips ;) 1) Use whatever you have. Camera and mic don't matter that much when you're just getting started. DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY ON THIS! You can do that later, and WILL, but only if you produce income. 2) Plan on lots of frustration and failure. You will make a lot of decent videos and your CRAP ones will always "hit" - this will annoy the hell out of your son. 3) If you want to have success on YT, it's NOT a part time gig. We can hardly keep up, and I'm VERY disciplined. If and when you're fortunate enough to get some traction on RUclips, keep in mind, you must FEED the giant...or you will fail. You have to post all the time, unless you are a celebrity - then you can do one video and you'll have 10,000,000 subscribers....but even THEY can't do it sometimes! 4) Luck is a BIG part of finding success on RUclips - SERIOUSLY. Unless you have a big chested girlfriend or wife you don't mind flaunting to the world, you'll have to work for it, and HOPE for the best. RUclips picks who they want to grace with success, NOT the best at what they do. Remember this if you fail, or struggle. There are so many hugely talented people doing EXACTLY what we do and they will fail miserably. If you get ONE viral video, you can make a channel that gets you opportunities you'd never had expected - some so random and idiotic, you'd say they were made up, but others very good...and you will have to then make good decisions on where to invest your time and get more lucky again to keep finding success. 5) Cast a wide net - post a lot at first. 6) Be topical, if at all possible. Especially when you're small - you HAVE to be the "RC Airplane guy" or the "Car guy" or the "Pond Guy" - if you don't BECOME that, even if you WEREN'T - you will fail. Average RUclips audience has an extremely short attention span, and they might even subscribe, and never come back. 7) Be THICK skinned. You HAVE to have interaction with your audience, or you will fail. If you ignore your audience, speaking to comments, you will fail. Foster them, and keep them close. Build relationships. This is where MOST of the opportunities come from - the audience, NOT free stuff you probably didn't want in the first place. You have to know there will be haters, but there will ALSO be people who care about you out there, and want you to succeed - learn to tell the difference, and POUNCE on the HATERS - block them ASAP! Get them OUT of your life - they will ruin your day if you let them. Embrace the constructive criticism...this is HARD...and you'll get 10-50% of your audience asking you to run around with your head cut off to do this or do that, when there's absolutely NO reason you should be doing it. Learn to discern between the helpful and good people who want you to succeed and those who watch, but hate you. It's harder than it looks, dealing with such a mixed audience. 8) Start Today - Time is market penetration. If you're "Thinking about it" just stop waiting your time. Quit while you're ahead. If you want to do it. Find your Niche, and GET GOING. 9) Don't expect other RUclipsr's to help you. When you get big enough, you WILL be a threat, so know your place as you work through your ranks. RUclips is CUT-THROAT and even though RUclipsr's know we can help each other, the smart ones are always working an angle to promote their channel, or get what they need. You have to be good at this, and protective of yourself. IF you can master this skill - you can surpass your mentors. 10) You will work hard for many years before you make any real money, even if you get lucky and have a few hit videos...the money on RUclips is REAL, but less than you might think. If you want to make money from Ad revenue, you will need millions of views per month, and then it's still not going to support a family of 6, like ours.
I haven't paid any attention, but I should. Sorry Vernon - I'll take note on our next video. We might do another video LIKE this. Someone was asking me to land on the Trampoline ;) Floats from the 14' Pool ;) I'm a gluten for punishment!
I would highly recommend not. This is the type of plane that could really hurt you or someone around you. Get a smaller plane, and build your skills on a cheaper and safer spot. You'll thank me later...this BIG plane is something like $700+ to get into, assuming you already have a Radio and Charger...if not, add $1000 - not exactly a "beginner price point" either :) Here's some good beginner choices... Check out "This one maybe" below...similar to the Carbon Z Cessna 150T, only cheaper, simpler, and more manageable for a beginner. Hey Brian, have you ever seen an Airbus A380? But not the AK A380, there is another one with 4 motors with a red light each one!! It's awesome for the price (between 50 and 65 bucks) and it's very similar to the AK A380 (but more cool in my opinion) and the Q008 Boeing 787, you should take a look at it. Greetings from Mexico broo
How do I get on the cool kids get the planes first list? You’ve already taken the honest, informative, fun flight videos. I guess I’ll be the fly my V1200 into my crotch video guy. Wish me luck? 😂
LOL - Thanks! The plane is doing the heavy lifting, I'm just pointing it in the right direction. I've seen guys do way more crazy stuff, and I'm working to get there, but for now, just really want to show how great this plane is, even in tight spots!
All you have to do is just follow these links... I don't sell them, we just have links to help the companies we work with know that when one of our viewers decides to buy it, they know they came from HERE. Cessna 150T bit.ly/30PJkkD 5Ah 6S bit.ly/3jbgUff NX bit.ly/3mbVuNB So when you click on the link, you'll be redirected to HORIZON HOBBY, and then you just buy it as usual. I don't actually sell it, but I help these companies to promote their great products (P.S. I did this too, before I worked with them, but HH is my favorite and largest...as you might be able to tell, but it's true - I'm a fanboy ;) ) P.S. I removed your redundant comments - looks like the EDITS showed up as new comments...sometimes that happens ;)
If you want your 150T to back up faster and in control go to R/C Group and on the thread on the 150T , page 14 , post 200 and try my modification. Crazystick ( Jim Martin )
Cub - which is totally a preference issue for me, but both are amazing planes. Draco is the BEST looking - BY FAR - but it's not everyone's cup of tea ;) Carbon Z Cessna 150 bit.ly/30PJkkD Carbon Z Cub SS bit.ly/30P5mUA Draco bit.ly/3ttx3ix OR Beaver 2.0m bit.ly/3zZGqKn + AR631 bit.ly/3pYNC3c (Very good too) ...so many great planes to pick from, these four are all in the same class, with the LATER two being MORE scale, but still very high performance. The former being better fliers....and I prefer the Cub - both fly great, but the Cessna 150T DOES have LED's, which was a HUGE disappointment on the Cub (Especially at this price point). Lots to consider, but you would sleep well at night with ANY of the four decisions.

I don't know that any of our partners ship to Austrailia, but you can try to follow our links...
Here's our "Master Links" that go to the main web page. Some of these companies might ship there, but it's insanely expensive from what we've been told...and we wish we could fix this.

LOL - We get very intimate on this video ;)
Truly great rc airplane ✈ I have had v1 cz 1fidy for 4 years, it's still my favorite. Planning on the tail wheel conversion I have seen someone use flex innovation 180 Cessna leading edge slats for a high alfa magician 🎩BB
Nice 👍 - We just did another video with pneumatic tires, so hopefully you'll enjoy that video too (coming real soon) ;)
Yeap. I can c the birds. And near the end there's hummingbird behind U?
Can we get Brian Phillips yard added to RealFlight????
I would like to speak to the Horizon Hobby folks about the prospect. It would be very cool to be able to share this with the world ;)
Hey Brian, do u like this Carbon Cessna or the FMS 2.0 meter Beaver better?
These are all so similar... I slightly prefer the flight characteristics of the Carbon Z Cub
Carbon Z Cessna 150 bit.ly/30PJkkD
Carbon Z Cub SS bit.ly/30P5mUA
Draco bit.ly/3ttx3ix
Beaver 2.0m bit.ly/3zZGqKn + AR631 bit.ly/3pYNC3c
...these are in the same class, with the Draco being the most scale looking ;)
Thank u! Love your Channel
How are the mosquitos this year? I have not noticed you swatting them this year. Nice airplane by the way.
So much better since it's been basically drought...which makes for crappy hay production, but great for mosquitoes :)
Hey Brian, which do you think is better, the 150 or Carbon Cub given their similar size? Keep up the great work
Hi I have a question for you is the DX 18 better than the new NX8 or 10,
Hummm.....I don't think so, but if you need the additional channels - YEAH, otherwise, the new radio is way faster, and has audio events.
@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks for your input I appreciate it I think I’m going to look at the NX8 and the 10 it’ll be one of the two
I have a question for you is the DX 18 better than the new NX8 or 10
I respect Brian's opinions more that mine but that's a good question.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I got to get a new radio and I didn’t know if the DX 18 was better than the NX8 or 10
@@kevincarter7102 after talking with Brian I think I’m gonna go with the NX8 or the 10
Hey Brian do you think the Cessna 150T would enhance itself with a pair Dubro 6 inch wheels 🤔?
I think YEAH ;) 100%
That being said, this plane doesn't NEED anything, the wheels are hard, but the bogeys are good and flexible!
Unrelated - my son inspires to do RUclips- I showed him how clear your channel is and why I always watch you - May I ask what camera you use?
@Joseph Wade thank you- yeah it always looks awesome
We use my Samsung Galaxy S9. For audio, we use Rodes mics (Mics amzn.to/3grY9kE) and a cell phone holder (Mic Handel - Handle amzn.to/2RP99jp).
Here's some advice. I could talk about this for hours, but I can't devote that much time here - I have hundreds more comments to get too, but here's some tips ;)
1) Use whatever you have.
@@BrianPhillipsRC appreciate it- sons 14 it’s only just to play with- he’s not serious
As always- thank you and love your vids
Did you coat it with minwax or similar, or did it arrive all nice and shiny like that? looks great!
Nope, stock ;) I did drive it through some grass and made a huge mess of it - but that was the only mod - LOL ;)
The birds showed up to witness the cornhole
LOL - awesome!
Hey Brian did you eat all those chickens or did the wildlife get them🐺🦊🦝🐍😂😂😂😂
LOL - We didn't even eat ONE!!! They all fed the local wildlife - LOL ;)
Wow that's some skill flying there 👏 Brian. How many amps does she pull full throttle?
I haven't paid any attention, but I should. Sorry Vernon - I'll take note on our next video. We might do another video LIKE this. Someone was asking me to land on the Trampoline ;) Floats from the 14' Pool ;) I'm a gluten for punishment!

a.j. here that 20cc vvrc gas flys awesome. oh by the way i am a tractor mechanic
Did you put a gas engine on yours??? That's sweet!
hey brian a.j. here look at flex innovations qq 300 g2 really nice plane
Nice! We'd love to work with FLEX too, but no vendors yet.
Could I learn to fly in this plane? For some reason I don't trust small planes..
I would highly recommend not. This is the type of plane that could really hurt you or someone around you. Get a smaller plane, and build your skills on a cheaper and safer spot. You'll thank me later...this BIG plane is something like $700+ to get into, assuming you already have a Radio and Charger...if not, add $1000 - not exactly a "beginner price point" either :)
Here's some good beginner choices...

Will we get a Third Thoughts when you get the tricycle installed?
If and when we get them, sure, but I am kinda liking this configuration after this flight!!!
How do I get on the cool kids get the planes first list? You’ve already taken the honest, informative, fun flight videos. I guess I’ll be the fly my V1200 into my crotch video guy. Wish me luck? 😂

Brian what plane do you prefer, Carbon Z Cessna or Carbon Z Cub?
Cub - which is totally a preference issue for me, but both are amazing planes.
Draco is the BEST looking - BY FAR - but it's not everyone's cup of tea ;)
Carbon Z Cessna 150 bit.ly/30PJkkD
Carbon Z Cub SS bit.ly/30P5mUA
Draco bit.ly/3ttx3ix
OR
Beaver 2.0m bit.ly/3zZGqKn + AR631 bit.ly/3pYNC3c (Very good too)
...so many great planes to pick from, these four are all in the same class, with the LATER two being MORE scale, but still very high performance. The former being better fliers....and I prefer the Cub - both fly great, but the Cessna 150T DOES have LED's, which was a HUGE disappointment on the Cub (Especially at this price point).
Lots to consider, but you would sleep well at night with ANY of the four decisions.
