I live in Germany and I used a cheap, drugstore beauty sponge up to now. But after this video I think I will either try the Real Techniques or the Aesthetica one because they are affordable! Thank you so much for this video!

I always used a very cheap drugstore sponge. But now that I know.. there is a difference.. I think I'll give the Aesthetica Beauty Sponge a go! =) Thank you Allie. This helps a lot!

L’Oréal has a beauty sponge too that is $7-$8. I have it and love it.

This is crazy hahaha I'm a huge fan... have been for a long time but I searched for beauty blender dupe vids so when I saw u had one from way back when I clicked and a time before u used a sponge of any kind is friggin hilariousssssss!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I literally cannot remember a time before beauty blenders and sponges became a thing in the beauty world 🤷♀️🤯👏👏👏

Allie-that looks like my ikea desk that my hubby turned into a vanity. Which model is yours?? Mines in the dark brown and where you have pictures, we bought an IKEA mirror and lights that go around so I can do makeup!! I think mines the Micke with with the Micke add on shelf. It's so cool!!

yea, the real techniques didn't even last a month for me, it kept ripping and I don't even have long nails. so I broke down and went ahead and got the real beauty blender to try it out and I love it! I think its definitely going to last longer!

i use the black beauty blender and i love it! i apply a lot of my makeup, especially cream highlighters/blushes, with it if i'm going for more opacity.
i used to use baby shampoo to clean it, but then i tried the sephora brand solid brush cleanser on a whim and now it's the only thing i use to clean my sponge. highly recommend! i haven't tried the beautyblender one, but mainly because i'm satisfied with the way the sephora one works (and it saves me $2). xD

I agree with not really liking the real techniques sponge. I find that it has lots of holes in the sponge which soak up the product but also make tiny little texture marks on my skin/ doesn't blend as well. I also find it lasts the shortest time between tearing and also it tends to grow mould the fastest (blerg!)

I have a latex allergy and I don't have a problem with the real techniques sponge.
My opinion is that the Beautyblender is WORTH it if you are into using sponges for your foundation and concealer 😊 I've tried the RT one and in my opinion it doesn't come close to the real Beautyblender...the BB gives a better finish and provides more coverage than the RT one I noticed, so I always invest in a BB, and I prefer it MUCH more than using a brush for my base, especially my concealer around my eyes! :) but my foundation too, always use a damp Beautyblender.
Got the rt sponge today probably will upgrade soon to beauty blender just because I'm a makeup junkie 😂😋

The BB really does last a veryyyy long time! Lasted me 2 years using it literally almost every day and I also washed it several times a week. I think the $20 ends up being worth it bc its soooo long lasting! You can use Johnson and Johson Baby Shampoo (tear free) and it cleans perfectly. Ive also had the RT but it tore after a few months :( And also didnt give me a porcelain finish like the BB. So yupp the BB is the queeen B lol

I have to update the previous comment I made on this video, where I said that the RT sponge doesn't even come close to the BB.
In the past I used either my hands or a brush for foundation, now I'm not into using my hands at all. I tried the Beautyblender for the first time in...I think it was 2016. I wasn't too sure first, thought I would be disappointed and that it wouldn't provide enough coverage, but I quickly fell in love with the BB and the finish it gave and gave up brushes for the BB. In 2017 I tried the RT sponge for the first time, and as I mentioned in the previous comment, I wasn't a fan. But I think that in my mind I was so stuck to the BB and that the BB was the one and only sponge, so I didn't give the RT sponge a fair chance I feel like.
I decided to give it a new try and I had to replace my BB, so instead of purchasing a new BB I recently purchased the RT sponge again. I've tried it with foundations and concealers I really like, and I have to admit it is actually nice :) I still have the same opinion, that the BB is better, in my opinion. I like the shape better of the BB for SURE, and I do like the texture of the BB better and the finish it gives. But the RT sponge is still good, so my opinion now is that the original Beautyblender (BB) is the best option and it's my HG. But the Miracle Complexion Sponge from RT is very nice, if you're for example on a budget and need a more affordable beauty sponge I would definitely go for the RT one, it's half the price or more (depending on where you get it) than the Beautyblender. So it's a nice budget option.
I'm trying to save money now, so I'll purchase another RT sponge when I need a replacement again, but I will without a doubt go back to the original Beautyblender in the future :) xoxo
Real techniques sponge is definitely latex free. I've used it and I'm not allergic to it so.
The real tech. Sponge says if u want med coverage damo the sponge and full coverage don't damp it
I really don't like the real techniques one, I pat it just like I'm supposed to but it just makes my foundations have no coverage, make the skin look streeky and dry

Is it true about the different colours??... I recently heard that the black is specifically for foundation application. Maybe that's why it gave better coverage than the orange Real techniques?

The real techniques one looked more natural on your face. As far as looks, I think I like our first sponge technique better.
I still cannot bring myself to blow twenty clams on a sponge. For that much, it better sing and dance, too.
Yes the beauty blender sucks up less product so if you use expensive products in the end you save more :) love the BB I like the BB finish the most it has more coverage
P.s I even apply my bronzer with my beauty blender now with even pricey brushes bronzers look patchy on me but not with the beauty blender it looks flawless

you should try the green Eco Tools sponge as I see in your recent mid 2019 videos you still use the Beauty Blender, but what RUclipsr doesn't cause if you do you know BB is going to just keep sending you free sponges.... I've also tried the BB sponge and it is not better than the Eco Tools sponge, but its $26CAD and I'm not paying that for a sponge when Eco Tools is around $8CAD
