    It is possible to buy the puff with same quality for lower money like makeup sponge Puffy Bunny. In any case BB will not serve you more than other sponges. Think twice before buying BB again.

    Why do people think it's weird that the RT sponge blended quicker/better? Just because something is more expensive doesn't make it better. (The beauty blender)

    • @annekonopka5470
      @annekonopka5470 7 лет назад +7

      She only used one concealer on the RT side. She used two kinds on the Beauty Blender side. Watch it again and see. I use both sponges myself but I couldn’t help but notice she skipped a step on the right side.

      I think it's because there have been so many brands (on both the expensive and "cheaper" side) that have tried to mimic the beauty blender and just missed the mark. So when there's something just as good, or even better, it's surprising (especially if the brand isn't as big or luxury because that's our world 😉).
      It's kind of like how Barbie was a classic and then Bratz came out and everybody was so surprised that Bratz, for a short period of time, was beating Barbie at "her own game."

    • @firstnamelastname6016
      @firstnamelastname6016 5 лет назад +2

      Also because if something is super good, it can usually get away with a higher price tag because people will deem it "worthwhile" (I have used way too many quotes (and parentheses) in my comments). So when something is seemingly better, people are suspicious and asking why it's cheaper if it's better than the $20 one. In a market standpoint, it's sometimes better to charge more for a good product than less because people will think "Oh, it's expensive, which means that more money was put into making it. Looking at this product, I would believe that." Our world is strange...
      I've typed too much, I'll leave now.

    Ive been using a Beauty Blender for about a year or so, and I always thought the price was OUTRAGEOUS. 20 bucks for a little sponge...but I saw a Real Techniques sponge at walmart, bought it, and then found this video after the fact! I think Im converted to the Real Techniques sponge...i dont think a sponge should cost more than 5 bucks anyway, much less 20 dollars. SO glad i watched this!

      I have to disagree with you on that one, and despite what some people are saying here, you can actually really tell the difference in its performance and the durability. BB is extremely durable, lasts longer than RT, and when you calculate the costs, it would actually be cheaper in the long run to just buy the real BB. No disrespect to anyone, and I really mean that, I just don’t understand for people to be cheap just to save a few dollars by getting the generic knock off brands. I’m not just talking about BB, I’m talking about make up, brushes, or primer. I have seen people commenting on RUclips claiming that an Elf foundation or make up brush performs as good or even outperforming the real brand like Mac or Tarte or NARS. I understand that everyone is trying to save money, or does not have the income or the extra cash to spare excessively, but sometimes you just really need to actually spend the money for them, and we need to stop lying to ourselves by saying they’re just as good or better. Then again, if you can’t, no one should stop you from buying the generic. I’m just saying that if you are using the generic brands/items, you can’t really expect or claim that they would perform just as good, or anywhere close as the real brand. Like you can’t expect a Pontiac to drive as nice as a Mercedes, or a pre-paid Android phones to perform as good as an iPhone. Or a Maybelline to give you as smooth completion as a Mac foundation or Smashbox. It’s a ridiculous expectation. But like I said, if you want to use generics, or can only afford generics, go for it. You should never give anyone the power to make you feel embarrassed or shameful for wearing generic brands. ❤️

    I've used both and tested them out over time. Original Beauty blenders last longer but it eats up a lot of products. I find it to sheer out my foundation in a more natural look. Where as the real technique one is softer, eats up less product but lasts only 2 months. It really depends up on what look you're looking for. For the price tag however, the real technique one is a steal!

    I've been using real techniques sponges for about 3 years, and I thought that they were the best thing ever. However, I recently got my first real beauty blender, and oh my goodness I'm in love with it. Since I've started using it, I've gotten SO MANY compliments on my skin/foundation. Everyone started asking if I had changed my skincare routine because they noticed that my pores looked non-existent, my wrinkles were invisible, and my makeup has just looked much better overall. That's just a personal thing, but I just thought I'd share my two cents.

    My first experience with a beauty blender was an offer on the RT 2-pack which I picked up by chance, never even having heard of beauty blenders before; but as my skin tends to get very dry, I thought the addition of moisture in the application step would help. I threw out all of my brushes after my second try, as it was quite revolutionary for my routine.
    Later I read about the original BB and got curious whether it would actually be even more superior, as everyone was suddenly raving about it, so I had to try splurging on one just to be sure.
    Although I don't dislike the original BB, I don't think it is in any way superior, and I've realized that I keep reaching for my RT to smooth everything out in the end even when using the BB - thus my conclusion is that, for my skin at the very least, the RT actually works much better for that airbrushed look.
    I still use the BB pro for applying my concealer, although as mentioned, I always go over with the RT as a final step, so it's doubtful that I'll be replacing the BB once it's no longer useable (on the plus side, the BB does seem to last a little longer, although not enough to compensate for the price tag, in my opinion)

If I can't even afford to buy more than one non- drugstore makeup product a year then should I really keep a 20$ makeup sponge???

  • @misssunnydee
    @misssunnydee 5 лет назад

    I have both. I initially bought the RT one because I think the price for BB is ridiculous! 20 euro for a sponge? Seriously???
    But I bought one during the Black Friday sale a few months ago and out of curiosity. So, I could compare.
    The RT is indeed slightly more dense once you squeeze (very slightly), but on the face it is super soft and while it is or feels heavier and the texture feels a bit different on the face, in the end it is just as soft and comfortable. Like a sponge it slurps up more product than brushes, but in comparison the RT takes up way less than the BB. I love it also has a flat edge: ideal for foundation or baking the sides of your face. And you still have the point for small places and the round one for blending.
    The end result is better on my textured skin than with the BB. I have one new one left (I bought a pack of 2 back then), but already got a new RT sponge for after.
    Lately the drugstore is coming for high end. I have better performing mascaras, eyeshadow, lipstick, highlighter and foundation from the drugstore when compared to their high end counterparts. Yes, there's plenty crap too. People who want to earn a fast buck. But in the case of RT their sponge is truly great. The fact I can buy several for the price of one single beauty blender is reason enough to never ever look back!
    (I am curious about that velvet June & Co sponge now. Apparently that is supposed to be just as good, but without taking all the product).

    I have used both. I think the Real Tech beauty blender is almost an exact dupe for the original beauty blender. We don't have places where I live that sell the original blender so I looked for years for a dupe. I have to order online or drive to Wichita. The RT blender is amazing!

    I was told to replace the beauty blender or real techniques every 3 months. You said you've had yours for 6months, so which timeline is best?

    the real techniques sponge is so legit. I bought the beauty blender & loved it. but then I became super curious about the real techniques sponge-fell in love! the real techniques one is so much more user friendly because of the shape. much cheaper & much bouncier!

      Same here. I started with the RT one, years later I finally tried the original BB and I was like, really? That's it? 🤨 Used it once. It's RT for me, and nothing else.

    This is the first video of yours that I've seen, and you did a GREAT job! I've long been curious about a comparison between these two sponges. Do you think you could use either of these sponges to apply Bare Minerals loose foundation? Ahead of time, I thank you for the time that you spent making the video, and for sharing your thoughts. I look forward to checking out more of your videos! :-)

    I got the one that comes in the box with the everyday essentials set and the sponge seems so hard I’m not sure if it’s only while its new and dry or should I go back and get the one that’s sold single w the silicone part? They should be the same right? Since even the one in the set is named “miracle complexion sponge” ?

    My real techniques one rips and tears all the time. I have gone through four. I would have rather have just invested in the beauty blender. I have one and it much better quality. but ultimately they both do the job.

    I've used both Beauty Blenders and Real Techniques. And I REALLY love Real Techniques! Despite the rave reviews on Beauty Blenders and how much I wanted to love them, there was no turning back once I began using Real Techniques.
    My Beauty Benders have been taking a nice peaceful vacation while my Real Techniques have been working very hard on a daily basis.^^
    I'm very particular about all of the products I use on my face and willing to spend the money. However, I like Real Techniques way better than Beauty Blender NOT for the price but how well it works on my face.

    Ummm if ur buying the rt sponge try to get the one without the engraved logo Bc that one is denser. I have the “denser” one I personally don’t think it’s terrible but it would be better to have the softer one ig
