I had NO IDEA you could use your fingers to apply foundation! Ive always used a sponge. I do love a skin like finish and minimal makeup so I'm definitely going to give this a try. Thanks again!

I've been applying my foundation with my fingers for many years. When brushes and sponges became popular, I purchased these products and tried my best to adjust to using tools, but I always tend to go back to using my fingers. I just like the way my foundation sits on my skin so much more!!

Same. I have a spray bottle of aloe and a towel to clean up my hands after so I don’t have to get up right away and wash them. I don’t have the 10 inch long nails that many do so that doesn’t bother me either. All the tap tap tapping with a sponge bores me lol I also feel like I’m tougher on my skin patting and dragging that thing on my face. I do use a kabuki brush for my powder foundation, however.

@@SmithaDepak I always use my fingers, first of all because my fingers don't cost anything, and I could massage it in without any stripes or patchy parts.

I use all three but I agree, the sponge does the best job. It also depends on what foundation I am wearing. If it's a matte foundation then I will use a brush or sponge. If it is a lighter foundation, I may use my fingers. Whatever gives the best coverage. Thanks for the video!

That was so detailed and incredibly helpful!!! I adore this video! I've always used my fingers but my friends keep telling me to use a brush, but I think this video proves why I love to use my fingers! As a man I go for more skin like, and thankfully this video boosted my confidence in the finger technique.

Great video idea :) I personally like the traditional brush & beauty blender sponge after to properly blend everything together but have tried blending my foundation in (so much quicker) with my fingertips & though it gives more of a skin-like finish, it’s still efficient & can be built up with concealers as necessary.* So both of these methods are a personal favorite as well! *I also feel, sometimes it’s the foundation texture that matters because though products can be buildable coverages, I still find myself liking great coverage with just one base because that’s ultimately the indicator that the product works well.

Your skin looks beautiful with all three application techniques 😊 when I first started wearing makeup (I’m 50) I just used my fingers. Everyone did. I liked the way my foundation looked though. I have also used the brush and sponge whenever they became popular and like those as well. Now, I try all three with whatever foundation I’m using and decide which I like best, so I know next time whether I’m applying with fingers, brush, or sponge or (most often) a combination. Thank you for this video. Very informative. I always look forward to your uploads and enjoy watching you create makeup looks as well 😊 keep them coming and keep on shining! 💗💫🌟

Yes, I agree with you totally. I'm 48 so I definitely used my fingers in the past. Lol Then came the all mighty beauty blender. Lol I always tried with a brush but could never get it quite right.. so recently I decided to invest in a more high end brush (a beautiful tarte foundation brush) and omg it really applies foundation perfectly. But I seem to always end up using both brush and sponge. 😊

When I first started watching your videos during the pandemic I was not very interested in make up, but your beautiful energy and skills kept me hooked. Gradually I kept watching and the way you explain everything in simple language and break it down into simple doable steps I was able to start from the basics. I am far from being good at anything but your tips and instructions are soo clear and helpful that my first few attempts at basic makeup have not been shabby to say the least. In fact with more practice have slowly been getting better. Thanks for your beautiful and generous presence with so many helpful tutorials. Your smile at the end of each completed look just makes my day even better every time !!

If I’m in a hurry, I tend to use brushes since it’s quick and easy and (at least for me personally) I find them to blend the foundation better than my fingers. If I have enough time, I tend to use all three to ensure it’s really blended and stays on longer (first I use my fingers to spread it out, then a brush to buff it into the skin, then a sponge to absorb the excess).

Lisa Eldridge said that sponges soak up some of the product so it gets wasted. She also highly recommended using the fingers. However, the area inside the orbital bone where your eye socket is, is the thinnest skin on your whole body. Although it has been recommended to use the ring finger to dab in this area,. I still feel more comfortable about using a brush only for that area. I like your microfiber sock method best though.😁
