As a girl who loves watches, it's so refreshing to come across a RUclips channel about watches by a woman blogger. I like your tastes and think your videos are great! Keep up the great work.
Hi Jenni! Firstly, I would like to say that it is AMAZING to finally find a female host for a watch/horology enthusiast channel. I am a female watch enthusiast and have loved watches since I was young. To put it into perspectice, I am totally fine to not have any piece of jewellery on me but I wouldn't ever be able to leave the house without a watch(yes, I don't personally consider watches 'just' a piece of jewellry because to me it's a lot more). To reiterate this even more, I would not even glance at a 24K diamond but I would definitely spend hours admiring watches-any kind and any brand that I find interesting(and of course buy them when I get impulsive!) Secondly, having said that, it has been a struggle for me to be into this world of loving watches because I feel that this love is so gender segregated. For instance, I would come to a store and they would immediately direct me to ladies watches but I honestly find the mens watches more appealing because I feel that watch makers put a lot of effort and thought to mens watches and then eventually loosely produce feminine looking ones for the "ladies". (Honestly they should just make unisex ones! Enough of the "for mens, for womens" BS. It's 2020!) And as I slowly grow my knowledge for horology, I feel more and more out of place because everything seems to be almost solely for "The Gentlemen". You can imagine how I feel being a woman and is actually really interested and genuinely enjoys looking at, wearing and even deciphering watches(like what is a better callibre movement, what complications does it have, what is the movement, case size, what does it contain in its dial, is it sapphire cyrstal or hardlex, how many jewels does it have, etc... I could go on!) but seem to only be catered, accepted and normalise to men. Arrggg.. Sorry to blabber. Thirdly, I just really want to express how happy I am to find a female host sharing love for watches! That is my main point! Lastly, I noticed that you have been mostly featuring the high end luxury watches. Do you consider featuring mid to low budget watches but are really valuable and have been able to prove valuable too like Seiko, Citizen, Longines, Tissot, Hamilton, Rado... (there's a lot of them)... It's just because I can only be able to dream about these Omegas and Rolexes but might never be able to afford them. So it would be nice to see watches that I know are within the reach of a person such as myself who always have to consider a budget but would like to have great value and craftmanship as well. Anyhow. Thank you for starting this channel! I hope to see it grow! And I have definitely subscribed!
I also have a 150mm wrist and love my Zenith A384 reissue which comes in at 37mm. It wears much smaller than the A386. Shape isn’t for everyone though.
Lug to Lug is definitely more important than width for small wrists. It's annoying how hard it is to find it on many manufacturers websites. Thank God for reviewers like yourself.
Marco Antonio It’s way too expensive for what you get, I agree. And the lug to lug is baffling as well. And that date window really looks off and ruins the flow of the dial. If they did a no-date version at around 3 grand, then we’d be talking. But as it stands, it feels like a terrible value.
The omega is really thick, and the GS tends to be quite thick and doesnt sot on the wrist that well. If GS slim down and make their watches more ergonomic I would be on it
Great reviews, Ms. Elle, on a subject (watches for small wrists) about which discussion is much needed. I wish the itty bitty wrist committee would meet and petition the watch manufacturers to provide a small strap option at the time of purchase. Some do, but a lot of them do not. A greater variety of smaller straps from the strap companies would be nice also. Thank you for these reviews.
First of all, compliments for segmenting the video! You're the first watch channel to do so and it's a very welcome choice. I'm a male but I have a small (165mm) wrist; for my taste, 34 to 36mm cases look best for wrists under 170mm. I like a lot the Oyster Perpetual 34mm in green: no date (i hate the cyclops lens), same caliber as the bigger cases, uncommon color, discreet watch.
36 is the way to go and I do believe watch manufacturers are thinking this now. No more silly sizes. All of us have pretty small wrists ! (Mine is 7.25 and my BB36 looks perfect). Great vid. Thank you
Great video. Worth saying you don't have to have very small wrists to appreciate smaller watches. My wrist is 7ins, which is about average for a man, and I can wear up to about 43mm no problem. But smaller, sub-40mm watches are just so much more elegant and refined. It's the differences between a watch being a statement piece or an accessory, something bold and defining or something subtle and understated. I know which I prefer.
It is always good ( and rare)to find videos with such content. I have a small wrist and sometimes feel forgotten buy watch reviewers...great job, Jenny! Greetings from Brazil!
I would add Omega's Speedmaster Reduced to your list. It will also be interesting to see the watches for small wrists at a lower price point in a follow-up video.
Well, what do you mean by good watches? Precise? With a luxury watch you indulge yourself with a piece of craft and showing others you're rich. Being expensive is the key idea here.
@@paulmorris1227 if you’re someone that rich and famous, yes. If that’s not the case it helps in some situations. Showing up on a business negotiation with a hundred thousand watch will hint that your business is ok. By the way, Gates has some extremely expensive watches.
I have a 170mm wrist, and some of these watches are too big for me. Anything over 46mm lug-to-lug is pushing it for me. 50mm on the IWC just doesn't look good. The 44mm lug-to-lug Tudor and Rolex are the best, in my opinion. I have an Oyster Perpetual in that size, and I think it's perfect for me.
This the second time I see that Zenith appearing in one of your videos and it’s becoming more and more clear in my mind that I need to go and try it on in person. Thank you for your insights, Jenny! Viele Grüssen aus Belgien, Wim
awesome of you to show wrist measurements comparison in the video. very smart & useful. but do a complete top view & side view shot so we can clearly see where the lugs sit.
I’m surprised you didn’t include the Tudor Black Bay 58. Also, I would add the Rolex Yachtmaster. It has the same case as the Daytona and wears great on a smaller wrist.
Totally not watch related but your video quality is over the top, I really wish I knew how to achieve that 😱 By the way, great video, my little skinny wrists say thanks!
36 to 38 mm looks to perfect to me. My wrist is 180mm and I love how smaller watches sit on it. I totally dislike big watches, to me they don't look very elegant and in some cases they look kinda cheap.
Jenni, I like all your videos. you made me laugh and smile when you are giving a description, it's almost like someone Is making you laugh from behind the scenes. Great work.
Cheaper but still high quality watch options for smaller wrists: Hamilton Khaki 38 mm with black dial Seiko Sarb 033 (black dial) and Sarb 035 (white dial) at 38.4 mm Orient Star Classic Automatic Dress Watch 38.5 mm Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic 37 mm
Ha, apparently me plus 20 or so others.........nah I don’t need a video by someone I’ve never met or even heard of until now, to tell me the Omega Aqua Terra is a very nice watch.
The aqua terra isn’t even in the video title....I came here for the same reason u did. A watch I wasn’t expecting to see appeared in it. So I commented. W/ all due respect, it’s early where I live. Have a good day
I agree with the lug width being more important than the diameter most of the time. I have a 16.5mm wrist and my Tangente 35mm already looks kinda too large due to the 44mm lug width.
For those looking for some more economic choices, you can still get the Seiko SARBs 033 or 035 for under 500.00. They are quality watches and sized in 38mm. Also very versatile, can be used as everyday or even dress if you change the straps. Good look, they are disappearing fast.
Thank you for featuring the 36mm Tudor and 36mm DJ. Both great models that are very popular entries into the Swiss watch mainstream, and both look good on these wrist sizes.
Saving for a 36mm white dial Rolex OP and enjoying 38mm Aqua Terra from 2003... May get that Daytona as a daily beater though 😅. Thanks for another decent vid 👍
smaller wrist here, circa 175mm. I have however, found that it's surprising what you can get away with. I've had good success with larger watches up as high as 42mm depending on the type of strap. Bracelets look better on smaller wrists, because of the way they are forced to curve around the wrist. Leather (because it tends to go vertical if the watch is too large) looks worse. That said, on my 175mm wrists, i found that Longines Hydroconquest Dive (41mm on steel bracelet) Looks excellent. Doesnt overhang, sits nicely and hugs the wrist more than you'd think. Longines Master Moonphase (god bless Longines for offering this in both 40mm and 42mm) I bought the 40mm and it looks fantastic on its alligator strap. JLC reverso classic medium duoface. A great small wrist watch.
I would also add the Omega Seamaster midsize. It's a beautiful watch that has the Omega coaxial movement, ceramic bezel, ceramic dial, 300m water resistance, Helium escape valve in a 36mm case size.
I got myself a Zenith a384 revival a few months back and MY GOD! It is THE MOST PERFECTLY FITTING WATCH FOR MY SMALLER WRISTS!!! I am currently trying to get used to my YM37 but it is feeling a little smaller on the dial size… May be trying a Bathyscaphe 38 to see if that proves any better…
Greetings from Virginia, USA. I really enjoy your videos and thanks for the metric conversion (I saw where y'all were talking about it down below) . I have a 7" wrist and I own a couple of vintage pieces that are 36mm and 38mm. I think they wear just fine. Thanks for the cool videos and keep up the great work.
Longines conquest or hydroconquest: available in 29.5mm and 34mm. They cost between 700 and 1200€. The quartz versions are priced around 400€. Or how about the Tissot powermatic 80 (38 mm). Much friendlier prices also.
Well presented video, with a selection of interesting watches, Jenni! I totally agree with your last two points! Lugs, does makes a massive difference in overall size of the watch, on how it will look on your wrist, and that if possible - try the watch on your wrist before you buy it. At times you'll be surprised on how a fairly large watch (40mm, for the itty bitty wrist committee members ) would sit well on the wrist without looking out of place.
I have a 6.5" wrist and I love my Lorier Neptune III. 39.5 Case with 47 L2L. The Lorier Falcon is a bit smaller and would be even better for a small wrist.
Love the fact that watches are slowly trending down in size. Manufacturers are finally realizing that consumers are clamoring for normalcy when it comes to sizing after years of comically large watch trends.
...and if horology commenced with oversized watches you'd be saying small watches are comical. So you're basically telling us you're a slave to tradition. Little boxes by the seaside...
Nice... thanks for this. I'm always hungry for small wrist watch videos. Some to add to the list... Sinn 556 series, all the Baltic models, Tudor BB58, many Seikos (short lugs and hugging case designs), several of the Cartier Santos variants.
Point of information - the 32110 is built by ValFleurier not IWC and it’s architecture is based upon the ETA 2892. I suppose IWC can claim “in-house” as they’re both Richemont group but still it’s mainly marketing. Same trick as the IWC cal.30110 (ETA 2892 and later Sellita SW300). As to how much involvement IWC has in assembly is up for debate. Most information is that, pre-2011, IWC did some their own assembling / decoration / modification of purchased ETA stock. Since 2011 they’re largely purchased complete movements. But overall cal.30110 a downgrade of involvement compared to cal.37524 found in the Mark XV (in itself was still a 2892). Nothing wrong with a 2892. I own a few IWCs with such movements. But I can’t stand their marketing ploys.
@@Armoer You're a funny man, but I'm actually Australian and refer to guys with height and a more athletic build. 42-44 for me thanks. I guess watches like the yacht master, overseas and royal oak aren't for you.
Sydney Rooster I live in the country with the tallest population on earth, highest average height, and it’s in Europe 😉 still, no one here believes a watch >42mm to be elegant or masculine. A yacht-master (1) or Royal Oak (34-39mm) fits anyone.
Omg . beautiful watches. All my watches are 38 mm .I have a small wrist . The Rolex datejust is amazing. Also the Tudor and omega . It is just so hard to buy anything in Canada now. Out $ is only 69 cents us. Thanks for the video . Stay safe .
Love this episode! I’ve always preferred more modest size watches simply because they tend to look more refined and appropriate. I feel a person should wear the watch, not have the watch wear them. I have a 171mm wrist size and find my 38.5mm JLC Geophysic to be as perfect as it comes.
How about Casio A158? I was surprised and slightly guilty with its quality offered for the money I spent. It has a beautifully brushed finish on its steel bracelet and give out a vintage elegant vibe even though it’s a modern electronic timepiece. Most of all, it’s perfect for small wrist size.
God bless you dear Jenni! It’s wonderful to lesen to your Chanel! You are full of class & elegant! I hope 1 day I could effort to buy Omega watch. Many blessings and greetings from Israel! 💖
Great video! Thanks for giving smaller watches some love. As someone who prefers the design and elegance of smaller watches (and a small wrist), it is great to see some of the smaller options out there. I would absolutely love to see another iteration of this type of video content, perhaps cover some fantastic 33mm - 35mm watches? The Rolex Datejust at 34mm is my personal favorite entry-level small sized watch.
I had given up waiting for the Rolex explorer n other sports models. As a retirement present for myself, I bot a Rolex date just 36 with a power reserve of 70 hours from AD. That's good enuff. Thanks for the video.
I'd instantly pull the trigger on the El Primero if only I had that much el dinero
😄

For smaller wrists and larger pockets I guess...
Exactly.
Well said, what planet are these people on....
To be fair the title doesn’t say “best cheap watches”
What are you on about? This is very reasonable for luxury watches, the Zenith, Tudor, Nomos and IWC are a steal in the luxury watch world!
Small wrists help you reach deeper into those large pockets. 🤣

I have a 6.5" wrist and I love my Lorier Neptune III. 39.5 Case with 47 L2L. The Lorier Falcon is a bit smaller and would be even better for a small wrist.
It is always such a pleasure to listen to you! Thank you!
Jenni has the most beautiful voice !! love her accent! the way she pronounces omega is the best!
Nice video but actually the iwc spitfire does have an in house movement: it's the new IWC cal. 32110.
@@daveb4679 Thanks for this precious horology lesson. These information are hard to come by.
Jenni, how about you balance the ledger and do a video on bigger watches (42-45) for the bigger wrists? We're not all European and Asian.
You americans just need to stop eating too much😉
@@Armoer You're a funny man, but I'm actually Australian and refer to guys with height and a more athletic build.
`Grand Seiko also has some wonderful 36-37 mm watches. They are a tad high, but I find they wear very comfortable...
Omg . beautiful watches.
Another Solid Video Jenni!
Good review Jenni, I look forward to more reviews.
One addition could be the Omega Speedmaster First Omega in Space edition (39mm)
I love mine
I love mine too, perfect watch for everyday wear!
Great review, I got my wife the Tudor in Blue (stunning in person)
Nice list, great video. I like the black bay 36, the Nomos, the IWC, the rolex datejust, and the aqua terra 38.
God bless you dear Jenni! It’s wonderful to lesen to your Chanel! You are full of class & elegant! I hope 1 day I could effort to buy Omega watch. Many blessings and greetings from Israel! 💖
Awesome video idea
Keep up the good work!
Not drawn by the watches in this video, unfortunately, but your presentation was a joy! Thanks😊
I don't have a small wrist, but I just had to watch your video because you're better than all the male reviewers out there!
Good Vid Jennster. Zenith is on the comeback trail.
"Itty bitty wrist committee" - Hilarious!! Love the content and keep it up.
The 34mm Rolex models are a great size. I recently obtained an OP 14200 and love it.
Danke Jenni für die tollen Reviews!! Ich finde du siehst auch super schön aus :)
Thanks a ton Jenni. Im a guy with very small wrist. Great video!
If you wear that Daytona in public, you're definitely going to get robbed.
Not in Germany
@@grafkaller4159 I wouldn’t wear one outside Cologne railway station on New Year’s Eve.
Everyone wears Daytona/ submariner/ yacht master in rose gold etc in hk😂😂😂😂
I had given up waiting for the Rolex explorer n other sports models. As a retirement present for myself, I bot a Rolex date just 36 with a power reserve of 70 hours from AD. That's good enuff. Thanks for the video.
Great content Jenni, thanks!
The Daytona is 🔥🔥🔥 but Looks huge on your wrist!
I disagree, looks perfect to me
