As a woman watch aficionado who has tiny 5.75 inch wrists, this is the video I have been waiting for! It is unfair that smaller watches for women are frequently bejeweled, quartz pieces without interesting horology.
Great video. We slender-wristed people need love and attention, too! my grail is the rolex DJ36, blue fluted motif dial, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet. the two tone DJ you showed was the 41, you can tell with the 5 minute increment numerals above the baton indices. i also absolutely love the nomos campus club cream coral and want to purchase that too.
Good episode for a classic case size. My favorite 36mm watch in my collection is my Rolex OP36 green dial. It is a perfect watch - elegant, sporty, robust and accurate. My second favorite 36mm watch in my collection is my 124270 Explorer. Rolex 36mm oyster cases wear very nicely on a wide variety of wrists. The OP wears slightly bigger than the Explorer.
36mm is such a classic size. Today I'm wearing my 36mm two tone Datejust purchased back in 1985. I have other Rolex watches but this one's special because it was my very first Rolex.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
Great content Teddy, keep it coming! I was really impressed by the Breathing Chronomat 36mm in person. Super comfortable. And the available pistachio green was awesome. Fit me great, even with my 7.25" wrists.
Great content as always! 36mm is my go to size. I love the classic wearing demensions. One watch I'd add is the Gycine Airman Purist 36mm. It a great travel watch and the 24 hour movement is so cool! It may take a second to adjust but the 24 scale is much more intuitive than the 12 hour format. It packs loads of value. The only downside is the 3 ATM.
Recently bought the BB36 and has become my favorite watch. Unique shade of blue dial, stylish and solid bracelet, perfect proportions for a 6 inch wrist. So underrated!
Congratulations! I also have a BB 36. I get a lot of compliments on it. Teddy loved the bracelet but I was not a fan. I replaced it with a cheap black rubber strap and it looks great. Strangely, I get way more compliments on it now than I did with the bracelet.
@@SocialWorkProfessor thank you, congrats on your purchase too. Wow no way! One of the reasons I bought it was because of the bracelet quality. I have yet to try it on a strap yet, don't even know the lug width haha, but good to know we have options
A great size. If you're coming from bigger watches, it takes a while to adjust, but totally worth it. For average sized male wrists, it makes the perfect understated everyday/field/dress watch to complement bigger divers or chronos. For smaller or female wrists it makes for a great diver or a big, bold everyday. For smaller wrists it makes for quite a big watch, which people don't appreciate. 34/5mm was more common in the '50s-'70s and again in the '90s - 36 was regarded as big. Some great picks there, but such a shame the excellent (and value star!) B&M Riviera is only 50m waterproof in 36 - silly. Breitling Chronomat and Santos medium is other obvious choices, but you can't go wrong with Oris 65, Tudor BB36 or Explorer.
your fan from China! Love your videos bring me into the world of watches. Now the luxury watches are everywhere with huge stores here. I didn't know most of the brands and why people out there want to spend money on these. But now I know. since I have a small wrist, case size under 40mm is always my priority. Thank you for all the insight all the way.

The marathon uses a quite highly modified SW200. They increase the torque of the movement to deal with the increased hand weights caused by the tritium tubes. They also alter the shock proofing to add to the watches' robustness. There are other changes which I can't quite recall.
Biggest thing I’ve learned over the last couple years: don’t cross a watch off your list just because of case size. If a watch looks interesting, try it on and see how it looks. It might surprise you
I love that Marathon MSAR/GSAR series - it looks so different with how far the dial is below the crystal. I’d go with the MSAR even though I generally wear larger watches.
Thanks for this video man much needed. One suggestion: there were some watches you only showed on a 7.6 or so inch wrist. It would be helpful to see those on a 5.75-6.5 inch range instead in the future since that’s probably the large audience here
Thank you so much for this very interesting video. i am happy to discover that there is so much 36 case from high quality brands. If i have to make choices, i will select the LONGINES in DIVE category, for the "DRESS Watches" , i like the ORIS big crown and of course the Vacheron constantin watch . for a casual watch, i hesitate between the TUDOR Black Bay and the IWC PILOT .
I think longines conquest 35mm should be inserted,, a great homage of Longines long heritage,, with exactly same proportion of the original conquest. Great video as always, thanks Teddy!
Don't think I could ever pull off the colors, but I do really like the cotton candy Oris... Bring a smile when you see them, and I appreciate the whimsy.
Since you didn't include (understandingly given the lack of) chronographs, I'd like to mention the Blancpain Air command, it's too expensive for me, but I wish other, more attainable brands would also have a take on those dimensions...
I love my omega seamaster midsize at 36.5mm it wears really nicely. A vintage zodiac seawolf at 35mm is my grail watch i don't buy into the smaller watches aren't masculine argument. The watches worn by service personnel in world war2/ Vietnam era are considered tiny by contemporary standards however they did the job.

Please can we have a review on the Longines Conquest 2023, it is a huge shift from the traditional conquest offerings. For me it seems close to being perfect (for what I want in a watch), love Longines and wish they'd had a transparent sapphire case back on the Spirit collection
Did you read my comments from a week ago ? Since then my AD has let me try one on. Green dial. A stunning colour that changes as you move. They didn't have the other colours in, and I'm not sure he should have been showing them to me, but on the wrist, it's a beautiful dress watch. Apparently Longines is changing direction and there are more to come.

The best 36mm field watch is the CWC G10. You will never want for another watch. So tough and reliable. It should be as it was the standard British MOD watch. Bomb-proof. I’ve had mine for 25 years and only ever changed the battery 3 times in that time.
@teddybaldassarre correct me if I’m wrong, but the way measure of water resistance is deceptive, is it not? Isn’t 30 m of water resistant just splash proof? And 100 m is OK to swim with but not JetSki? Some thing like that?
It’s a great watch for the slender wrist… 38 is the smallest sports watch size for me… I know it’s personal preference but I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist and 39 mm full lume explorer is my favorite watch in my collection and I think it fits perfectly…Cheers
I’d like to give a shout out to Lorier as well. They have the Falcon at 36mm and are a really well respected microbrand company with great designs and build quality.
Teddy, what is your opinion on a man wearing 36MM watch today? Is it too small (I am 5' 6'' tall)? If I went to resell the 36MM size, would there be a market for it today, or would it be very difficult to resell given most men wear 40-42MM?

I think the Lorca GMT Model No.1 @ 36mm presents as an interesting watch being the only GMT I can think of in that size. We are going to see a lot more models in the 35/36/37/38mm size ranges from established and micro brands eg, Aquastar Model 60 37mm, Vulcain Skindiver 38mm, Nivada Grenchen Antarctic in 35mm due later this year , their reissued 38mm diver and F77 integrated bracelet sports watch in 37mm, the reissued Vulcain 36mm cricket, various Lorier models etc.
I truly appreciate this one Teddy. My wrist is 7+ inches, but I still prefer refined classy sized watches. That’s not to say I don’t do bigger watches, like the Seiko Willard (bought the green one that I couldn’t resist), the King Turtle with its waffle dial, or even the Rolex Submariner 41mm. Sometimes you just want to wear something of quality, that’s stylish and just not feel like it’s there until you look at the time. Current favourite small sized men’s watches are the Datejust 36 and the Cartier Tank. For some reason some men think that a bigger watch equals masculinity.
