In this video, I’ll share some of my top picks for watches with a 37mm case. As case sizing trends continue to shrink, this is a size range where I think there is going to be a lot more action in the coming months and years. What do you guys think about smaller watches?

Just to give peace of mind for someone who is considering the STP movements, I've owned a couple and never had any issues whatsoever. Currently have a Super Sea Wolf with the STP 3-13 movement, and previously had one with an STP 1-11 movement. I was also very hesitant from reading stories on watch forums, but I believe at this point they've resolved those QC issues.

I'm not usually a fan of yellow gold, preferring pink/rose/red gold. But I have to say that Vacheron Historiques is a knockout in yellow gold! A beautiful watch. It definitely looks like a ultra-luxury watch! And my appreciation of the AP Royal Oak has really grown over the last year. Very nice watch, but still if I had the budget for one, I'd probably go for a JLC or a Glashutte Original.

This 37-38mm case size watch range is stacked! Absolutely beautiful watches and very good choices by Teddy. As an owner of Spirit 37mm I fully agree that it's the sleeper pick for this year and quite possibly the best GADA watch out there right now in 2k or even 3k price range. Also thanks for pointing out that Nomos has released Club Sport in 37mm. I've been eyeing that 42mm model for a long time now but it has felt too big. This 37mm seems like a perfect fit (not too big but still has enough wrist presence for a sports watch). And by the way: These 37-38mm watches are not only for the people with small wrists. I have quite big wrists but I still prefer this case size over the typical 40mm size.

I have a Seiko SNK361 that I really like. They were still selling them at Jomashop last time I checked for about $100. The 37mm case design wears really well on my smaller wrist, and I really like the texture/design on the black dial. If you look really close, you can see mini Seiko 5 logos across the entire dial. I ditched the bracelet (like many people do) and put mine on a brown leather strap. I highly recommend picking one up if you can!

STP3-13 is an automatic watch movement with swan neck regulator from Swiss Technology Production. It is based on the popular ETA 2824-2 and uses the same wheel architecture. STP uses a longer, thinner mainspring, boosting power reserve to 44 hours. It also includes an extra jewel on the barrel arbor. Cal. STP3-13 first appeared in the STP catalog in 2016.

@Teddy Baldassarre I would love to see a series that covers the whole product portfolio of well known brands. Meaning each video would cover one brand. I was inspired to this thought by the Casio G-Shock video you did. Their collection is enormous and confusing. Your video made it way simpler to understand! A similar video for Seiko, Rolex, Breitling, etc. that briefly touches on the main watches in their portfolio and explains why they are important would be super cool and very educational.

Another thing about its desing is the heavily recessed crown. It's really not made to be hand wound. Back then (59) it was done like that to attract attention this is an automatic watch. And it uses the new sealing tech they were famous for.

@@DeeEllEff Um, the holes for the bars are drilled into the case, about 2-3mm from the edge. The case is mashined so that first 2mm if the bracelet are housed in the case. The case thus sits on the wrist, and not on the bracelet. The Commander II or Iconê has the same integration. But its a much bigger case, at 42mm. It wears as a 40mm, but a full dial one. I've learned to start checking the women's watches when there is a specific watch I want and the Men's sizes are too large for my wrist. Quite a few produce the same design in a smaller case diameter and market it as a women's watch or a unisex watch (for instance, the Longines VHP watch is way too big for me in the men's size, but they offer a 36mm case diameter listed as a Women's watch. They offer one with exactly the same look as the men's, as well as a version that replaces the indices with diamonds, so you do have to watch for these subtle design changes).

@@balesjo Yep me too. I have a men's Eterna from 1956 that's 34mm. I found I actually really liked the size even though I have an average wrist and am a big guy anyway. So when I wanted something similar for daily use I picked up a Presage SSA785J1 for about 200€ on sale. It's 33,8mm and I don't find it too small at all for general office/daily use. That's the other thing with shopping the women's catalogue: you can find some decent sales on there!

A great flieger style watch would be the 37mm Laco Augsburg and aachen, an amazing finish and a miyota caliber for 340$

The Nomos with the green dial looks great. My fav from this entire video. Except for the 222 if they made it in stainless.

In the middle of the twentieth century, the Emperor of Japan used to go overseas on visits to friendly nations. He used to present an especially made Seiko to heads of state on these visits. These watches were of the same model. They were very understated and perhaps not supposed to be very desirable. The feature which stood out was the symbol of the Emperor, the Chrysanthemum flower, on the dial of the watch. The Grand Seiko featured as a dress watch in this video, on the other hand, is very beautiful, even though it is intended to be very simple in design. I haven't come across a design of watch which appealed to me more.

Will have to say that Nomos wins it for me. I own the same watch in a sirene blue dial and it is amazing, not on a bracelet. It was in the sea and the pool during my last vacation and it is just perfect.

Casio f-91W is 33mm but it should be in every small wrist collection, I have 33 to 42mm watches (casio, timex, citizen, longines, Hoffman, orient) but I have to say that I love my F-91W, is one of the most Reliable watches.

Thanks for the video and keep it going! I'd love to see 36, 35 and even 34mm. I realize with most brands there won't be much choice there, but a look down the "women's" catalogue might bring up more choices. Many of those aren't overtly "feminine" in their design and could also go for men who like the smaller sizes. (Of course I'm not saying it wouldn't be worth it to make these videos for women or nonbinary people as well, though the viewership might surely be smaller)

Are there any new (or not so old) men's dress watches that are in the 32~34mm range? I am looking really hard for one and seem to come up short irrespective of price. Currently wear a relatively cheap Longines LeGrande Classique Automatic (33mm) and previous gen Yacht Master 35mm (168622) -- the later which I find kinda big and too thick. The JLC Master Ultra thin is too big at 38.5mm as is the V-C Patrimony self-winding 36.5mm -- both also forces you into stinky leather with no bracelet offered.
