Just Empty Every Pocket brother ill never forget when i was young and my older cousin who got me into wheelin' told me what jeep stands for . Once you start you never want to stop. Always replace bigger and better !! Hell ya man what a Rig
Totally different type of wheeling than what I'm used to here in Utah/Moab. Full time traction battle over there! One of the most over built monster ZJ's on earth. You did a hell of a job on this!
The hubs have since broke, and yukon not only wouldnt warranty them, but wouldnt even sell me the parts to fix them... Told me to kick rocks and buy another complete set... So I swapped them out for some Crane drive flanges
Instead of welding your gears in the front diff (sometimes it is beneficial to not having them locked) you could have opted for a more reliable locker such as the OX locker. It can be operated by air or even better, a cable. So it would be a physical connection that is operated manually. Which is very reliable and lets you know immediately that you have positive engagement.
@@BackyardBeaters And a permanently welded front diff doesn't fail? Having the diff permanently locked doesn't put extra stress on the axles and cv/u-joints? Besides that, if your cable is rusting so badly that it seizes up, that is on you. It's a quick and easy job to lube a cable.
Thanks! This wheel is removable just by unbolting it, but it’s not a quick release. I plan on doing a genright tj weld on quick release hub with a prp wheel in the near future
I can comfortably do 60 1 hand on the wheel down the road. Takes some getting used to but it’s not bad, it’s just legality of it, and the wide tons and 42s and doved front end and lockers and loud exhaust are enough to get you in trouble already.
Dam bro actually just seen more pics u killed that shit. Im assuming u did the project by urself as usual lol. Would have to say best rear chop on a zj hands down. I don't really like the look on most xj and zj but u pearled it. Hopefully I get out west soon south jersey wheeling fun but risky do to no legal spots lol
Thank you. I agree, Iv never seen one I liked before, but that meant I HAD to do it, prove to myself I could make it look good. RUclips pissed me off copyrighting all of my videos for music that I used even though it was copyright free music. Which killed my desire to make videos. So it’s just Instagram updates for now, I will come back to RUclips when I’m not mad at them anymore 😂
Wats the length of front stretch? And the control arms, that is serious. I hope u aint cutting the back hatch off. I wanna dove nose my hatch some how 🤔 🤫. But im bout to do the front hopefuly
I don’t have specific numbers on the stretch unfortunately, just went until the tires were past both bumpers. Wheelbase ended up at 130” hub to hub. LOL yeeaaahhh you might be disappointed then 🤫😂 trust me it’s gunna be sick. Have faith
@@BackyardBeaters it looks good bro like the ultra4 style tirerack lol soon as u made that comment with that face knew she was gpin to chop shop. Feel like I need to make an insta just to check ur rig nowadays lol got greyjeep almost done with the clayton long arms but my black one gonna be more like ur jeep build with coilovers ... but I wanna 5.9 swap and some other things im keeping hush for now.. but know this I will figure out how to dovetail that hatch bud
It’s an iron rock offroad frame side mount, that I cut up and made work. An artec axle side mount that I heavily modified to make work, and a custom track bar I made using bent 1 3/4 tube and 7/8 heims
You were looking to shave weight. I agree and want u to do the same. How much did you save chopping the rear? Did you do anything else to put the fat girl on a diet?
According to my math the truggy conversion cut off just under 400lbs. I also hot knifed my 39.5s for the sand, which cut 12-15lbs off each tire. And lastly I added door bars (still need to add the fronts) so I can remove the doors in the summer and lose some more there too. In the future I’d like to substitute the heavy steel beadlock wheels for some aluminum beadlocks on the 42s. But for now she works great
That’s pretty impressive. I’ve debated the truggy idea, or even cutting the entire top off and figuring out a custom soft top. I’d still love to do that, but don’t know where I’ll end up with it all. Regardless of what I decide, I still want it to be recognizable as a ZJ. You should do another walk around video now that you’ve taken it to the next level.

I just got a 1995 grand jeep cherokee 1995 limited 4.0.
Giving me lot's of idea's.
Sick build
Thanks for taking the time to explain the WHY behind the WHAT.
IMO, the why is more important than the what in these walk around videos.

I can only think of one thing to say and that is “HOLY SHIT MAN, THIS THING IS A BEAST AND I LOVE IT”
You really know your truck, great fun to take the tour! Thanks For Posting!
love the trackbar behind the axle, I did a similar design on my solid axle swap/3-link and gained 5-6 inches of wheel base with that setup.
Really awesome! ZJs rock! Great work.
this video makes me want another zj
This is a nice jeep..
Sweet ZJ, good info on the hubs and build!
The hubs have since broke, and yukon not only wouldnt warranty them, but wouldnt even sell me the parts to fix them... Told me to kick rocks and buy another complete set... So I swapped them out for some Crane drive flanges
@@BackyardBeaters No kidding? That's too bad they wouldn't warranty them. Did they know about the locked front diff?
New subscriber, excited to catch up on all the videos. Love how you have built your ZJ, makes me miss my old one 💪🏻
Welcome to the shit show! haha
I gotta really clean rare patriot blue in Dallas new lift new tires etc started it at 8k just dropped it to 4800

More parts to fail man. Nothing beats welded for reliability. Ox cables rust and seize up. Air lockers leak and don’t work (I had one)

Pretty sweet build dude!
Dude ur awesome at fab work 🤙
I see a lot of Iroks on rigs from out west, do you guys actually like them?
They are great for wet slick rocks which we have most of the year, and they are by far the best snow tire around.
WOW NICE
one of my favorite ZJs around! 5 speed ZJ gang! question, is that a removable steering wheel? and if so how'd you go about doing that?
Thanks!
This wheel is removable just by unbolting it, but it’s not a quick release. I plan on doing a genright tj weld on quick release hub with a prp wheel in the near future
@@BackyardBeaters what system do you have now? just a universal kit?
@@atlasoffroader796 yep! It’s a Grant universal Jeep hub adapter and wheel. Both of which I got off the shelf at orielys. Just bolted right on
awesome build. only thing i don't like is the full hydro i would want to be able to drive on the highway or even the city streets

Maybe Consider a Jasper Re-manned 5.9. We did a swap on a 97 Orvis Edition years ago and it made a sizable difference and everything bolts right up!
Ended up caving and going the junkyard ls route.
I love it!! Iwould like to know specs of that's coilover..?
This is sick dude!
Thanks man! Come along ways from plastidipping logos and painting wheels 😂
You need to gusset the cage. Those joints aren't very strong without gussets. Every racing sanctioning body requires gussets for a reason.
Have you had any problems with mud or water getting in to the intake with the style of air filter your running. Looking for a cheap option for my ZJ.
Nope never had a problem, and I have no inner fenders lol

Goals💯💯💯💯
What are your spring size and rates for front and rear
How long for your rad flo coil over shock?
Does the wheel return back to center with full hydraulic steering?
Yeah it does, not as much as normal steering, you gotta help it a bit admittedly
Yewwww🤙🏽
Looks like you need some stiffer spring rates . Way too much preload.
Which engine is currently in there? the 5.2 or 5.9?
in this video it had the 5.2
only thing that I wanna know is , I wanna know if is on sale this beast?
Everything is for sale for the right price
Knew u was gonna chop the back, expected better from u muh friend.. tisk tisk. No dam well everyone does that
But don't get it twisted from what I seen which is one pic lol looks good when we getting some phooty tho?

@@gofastgang7284 you can do anything you want with a grinder and a welder dawg
What air Filter is that?
Edlebrock filter from your local auto parts shop
Thanks man Just got done installing mine. Sweet Rig! Awesome videos! keep it up!
Bro how do you’re wipers go so fast !!! Lmao mine are so fuckin slow
Good wiper motor? 🤷🏼♂️😂
Don't you get pcm problems?
Nope
What is your wheelbase?
I’ve been wondering that too. I’m guessing around 125”.
130" hub to hub

Lose a couple inches tire size gain a couple ponies in throttle rsponse.
Lol yeah then I’ll just swap out the 1 tons for stock axles to get my ground clearance back too!
