Just incredible the way they made it feel like he was reading your movements and adapting, as if he really did kill a shitload of hunters before. Hard as hell, but in a fair way. G-Rank Black Diablos was a scary fight back in Freedom Unite with her special digging attack she had then in which she homes in on you from underneath. It tricked it me quite a few times and had large hit box. The One Horned Demon King Diablos quest in Freedom Unite is also worth mentioning considering that was a powerful Diablos with increased attack power and Enraged duration and was likely the inspiration in some regards for the Bloodbath Diablos. Much like how wounded version of Yian Garuga became the Deadeye deviant and Scarred version in Iceborne. For me personally World Iceborne Diablos is the easiest Diablos ever considering Sonic Bombs worked on it even when it is enraged. And then in Iceborne with us being able to use the Slinger with any weapon drawn really made Diablos one of the most easy and exploitable monsters.
Ngl, Apex Diablos, sounds cooler, looks cooler, and the apex theme sounds better then Bloodbath’s. I would have just preferred them to have new attacks.
My favorite Diablos is the base one from the third gen, the really good and fair fight + the wonderful sound design while being way bulkier and imposing made it really menacing, same could be said for Black Diablos I really like the tempered Black Diablos from Iceborne too, no mistake could be made in fight, and i like that, for me this one could have made a good arch tempered, even more as in lore its said Black Diablos could be at elder dragon level Oh and final point for Monoblos, i really like him and its sad it isn't really that often in games, it kind of received the Rathian treatment but worse, being overshadowed by a close counterpart, while still being different in a lot of ways... i mean in gen 2 Monoblos (along with Garuga) was Khezu/Basarios level, its almost funny...
Can we take a minute to talk about how absolutely fukkin metal Bloodbath Diablos is? It grew strong enough to be considered more of a threat than most elder dragons with nothing but brute force. On top of that, the blood coating it from its hundreds of battles was made into a weapon through sheer rage alone. I mean, when have you ever seen a monster get so angry that its blood actually boils? It literally became this strong just to spite the world and everything in it, and that is the most badass thing I've ever heard.
I wish the Apexes in Sunbreak get a more physiological change rather than just coloration and shiny effects. I also prefer Monoblos' design for some weird reason.
Very well organized and comprehensive video; been loving this series so far! One very, very small correction, though: in the World section you mentioned that the horn uppercut was exclusive to black Diablos, when both normal and black can perform it. Kinda weird how the two keep swapping moves around; I wonder if Monoblos will end up borrowing anything from Diablos and/or Bloodbath if it ever shows back up.
Diablos is my second favorite monster mainly because he’s just brute force. He can whoop so many monsters’ asses without any sort of power. And he looks pretty cool and sounds fucking sick too
I’m completely new to this franchise but the main thing I know is that my sister absolutely adores Bloodbath Diablos and has spent entire real life days fighting it over and over again. She also led my unsuspecting noob ass to a Diablos in World when I was meant to be fighting a Barroth. I ran away very very fast.
Should be noted that Diablos can be either male or female but the only way to outright tell if one is female is if it's in heat or pregnant where the females turn black. Both males and females compete for territory which is why they both sport those horns. Diablos, especially Black Diablos are one of the creatures Deviljho are afraid of and they will go out of their way to avoid them (The turf war really doesn't make sense). Black Diablos are also on par physically with Elder Dragons.
something to note about apex vs bloodbath if you consistently hit apex diablos' head it will knock it out of its powered up state it does not work on bloodbath bloodbath goes in and out as it pleases and when in massacre mode it does not leave ever but partbreaks does weaken some of its attacks i.e tailcut weakens its rock sizes, 2 horn breaks make its hitbox slightly smaller on charges. Apex's make you focus on one part deviants make you focus on multiple parts except arzuros.
As a World player, my first real wall was Diablos. I was using DBs and when solo he would just kick my ass as at his head I constantly would bounce me due to the horns and Id have to be so in his big body's biz I often could not see the telegraphing of his attacks (perks of no reach, alot of Dual Bladers apparently had issue with him in World). BUT it was my first true sense of triumph when I beat him with my dual blades.
Hmm, feels like the Master Rank version in Iceborne should have had its new gimmick mentioned since it changes the tempo of the fight, only thing I saw missing.
i think you forgot that, the reason its watered down is that its only high rank, same wiht valstrax wait for sunbreak and hope he gets back at full glory, i think you should have waited for the xpac before making this, altho this is awesome
Let me explain my thoughts on them each seperately: -monoblos for me is a waste of a monster, but not in a good way, but more in a sad way. it's cool looking, a styraco-like diablos that uses one larger and straight horn, and as a monster that is exclusive to the singleplayer because of the rarity of these monsters and that it was classicaly a singleplayer final boss, adding it by how in 4U, it has alot of distinctive moves that's not the same as the Diablos part, just makes me want more Monoblos over Diablos. -The bloodbath i can't say much, i haven't fought him, and only saw the hunts on RUclips, but i think it is one of the badass monsters that it knows you better than you know it. it is shame that Bloodbath is the only Deviant that has the unique and the best theme over other deviants, but i kinda get it, he is the last deviant you'd fight after the lists of deviants, and to basically give the hunter in toes, makes sense to why give bloodbath a theme. -the apexes in rise are just Deviants but weak, maybe not for zinogre. I do wish Apex diablos would've been faster and more rampagic just like Bloodbath, rather than being just black diablos, white monoblos and Bloodbath fused together to be a one thing. As for the weapons and armor, at first it is dissapointing that their armor aren't even unlockable in rise, but after alot of people saying that these armors would make the game 10/10, i had to sit and re-think, and i am glad i did that becuase i pictured that if these armors were avaliable in rise, it would be the base armor, but darker and with veins, maybe for zinogre to be yellow, and mizu having its parts like fur and eyes vibrant glow. -as for the classic Diablos and Black diablos: it's a mixed feeling: World was my first game and black diablos was a pain in the butt, that i ignored her whatsoever, as for diablos, rise is just the one that was simpler to renember and fun to hunt, but i like the GU Diablos more, maybe it's more clunky than the 5th gen, you need to be awared of his moves like the dig, charge and attack, as well as aggressive and punishing enrage state, just makes the fun more challenging. overall: i like rise's and GU's Diablos, but i really want Monoblos to shine and return now, with some tricks like in 4u.
Ive allways suggested that if they do decide to bring Monoblos back they should ditch digging attacks for it and instead make it be able fly somewhat. I feel like thats a win = win. Most people dont like Blos wyverns digging but for those who do Diablos exists and for those who dont Monoblos exists. Also Monoblos is Smaller and isint as Heavy as Diablos so it being able to fly is somewhat believeable.
Actually the reason I played the first Monster Hunter in PS1 was because of this wyvern. It's triceratops-like appearance that made me so interested with this game.
ah the classic theme, i always mix them up between what theme is desert and dunes, i love them both, but that 1 never struck me as a diablos theme it was more so ther other one where that track sounds like it suits quick and small raptors or something. the track has a sort of bounce to it. that maes me think raptors jumping around the place. first gen was weird about this, since variants didn't exist yet. black diablos, do to lore, is a variant because they are females in heat rather than a subspecies that is a close cousin of the original. white monoblos is a subspecies unlike black diablos. kind of like how it's pointless to call gore magala a ??? when we know now that he's a juvenile of the elder dragon shagaru magala. 12:28 monoblos' intro cutscene is 1 of if not the funniest in the series. he is the undisputed champion of the raptor toss lmao. they made black diablos more unique later so why not help monoblos? i would love to see monoblos since i like the looks of both of them and they could make them each very different like ha monoblos fly more to mix digging and flight and horn dives. bloodbath actually has a second theme, for the massacre state, not sure why he said only 1 theme. in MHW regular diablos can do the catapult attack or something like it if he's in his nest and digs into the wall/falling sand but black daiblos can do it from anywhere. apex diablos loses the most of the steam stuff but i'd say apex mizutsune losing the blindness/bubble detection is much more tragic by neutering the monster's personality.
Something tells me I should do an Apex Diablos hunt as a semi-warm up to Bloodbath, whenever I get to him. I like Diablos as a stressful monster. Was fun to learn when to counter as a LS main in 5th gen. My, very biased, favorite deviant so far is Boltreaver Astalos. Deviant of the monster that had me get GU in the first place! I love his colors and really want to get the full armor set from him.
You forgot one move he has in world where he goes underground and then charges out of the sand falls in his sleeping area. Also in world he can drag monsters above his cave down into it
I started in 3U and absolutely hated both diablos. I dreaded them coming back in 4U but they seem to have improved with each iteration. Strangely, i really piked both monoblos iterations in 4U. Probably because of how different the design and a few of the attacks were, and the lack of trauma associated with them. In GU, i felt kinda indifferent to diablos, and i still haven’t gotten around to fighting bloodbath. I actually enjoyed fighting regular diablos in world/iceborne but didn’t care for black diablos. I also enjoy fighting regular and apex diablos in rise.
Diablos is the monster that made me *get* monster hunter, on a deeper level. Diablos is simple, but good. Strong, fair, telegraphed to hell and back, and above all, consistent. You can *count* on diablos, and that means there's nobody better to learn *counters*. I did a run in 4U? generations? where I did basically nothing but guard-point and SAED to kill Diablos, it was an utterly satisfying experience and did a lot to prepare me for Rise/Sunbreak's heavy, heavy emphasis on counter moves.
Sadly because of the status as Solo-only that Monoblos is known for, i dont have high hopes for its return since the series has pushed a lot of effort towards encouraging cooperative play and there isnt really an explicit way to lock it to solo outside of the village quest/hub quest system in Rise
maybe bloodbath gets it return in sunbreak and apex is just a small preview of that in rise would make some sense aswell with the vampire themed malzeno
I don’t really have an issue with the term apex being reused, besides redhelm, snowbaron, and stonefist I have not fought the deviants, also I’ve heard people say that apex rathalos is different than dread king, how true is that?
Bloodbath took me and the friends 2 weeks to beat ex. One of us always died and it was fun seeing the funny ways we died. Rise off brand version is nothing like the bloodbath of old. If no armor or weapons for them in the grank there is no point in grinding them unless you like this one or just wanna experience it.
@@marcusaaronliaogo9158 apex still gonna not be a challenge in the master rank, i bet but thats me assuming. We will have to see because i am sure he will still be just sticky stun to death.
@@marcusaaronliaogo9158 Even so this is not a apex problem this is a problem with the game itself, i aint saying its to easy just saying if they wanted to give us the blood bath they could of made a more enjoyable match and not something to just choir threw for hr points. I hated diáblos. In world where I started, I used the insect glaive and I didn’t understand his hit boxes. But in rise I branched out to other weapons and I found his fights more enjoyable.
Another great evolution video these are really nice to watch and yea Rise Apex is not as good givin the watered down version I still enjoy him and BB Diablos hands down are the best one also gotta give a praise for Monoblos I miss that one praise for him to return in the future would love to fight him agin
It makes sense that you take damage since they make contact with your small body with their massive size but it being so devastating is just unfair. Fainting cause the monster turned around instead of getting hit with a cool attack just is so humilliating for me lol
Diablos is one of my favorite monsters. And bloodbath diablos is just... *chefs kiss*. Apex diablos in Rise is a cheap version and I am upset what Capcom did there. I want my precious bloodbath deviant back.
Diablos is the first monster in which I feared facing in World (World being my first attempt in MH). Sucks that they downplayed him in Rise, especially since Bloodbath looks crazy as hell
I like the vid a lot! I never liked diablos or monoblos too much. I even never fought Bloodborne even though I've gotten to the end of MHGU, and seeing this vid makes me want to try. While Apex diablos, like most Apex monsters, is a bit disappointing, I do enjoy fighting it with the Rise system.
Didn't diablos get anything new in 3U? I'd thought so since it has G-rank. Also great video, recently I fought both deviant nargacuga and diablos for the first time. I ended up making narga's armor and now I hate that deviant because of the fight, diablos is much better, but I haven't unlocked her yet, so I join her quest whenever I have the chance. My favourite version of the monster is surprisingly 4U white monoblos because to me it was the hardest of all, surprisingly harder than BB, even 3U black diablos.
Oh I didnt know Black gained that Moves. A feew things to add. Black Blos has a fakeout. It will stand and taunt and then imideatly rush. And Monoblos gained that weird repositioning Move some Brutewyvern had, noticable Barroth. It will run in a Circle until it is close enough to you to do another Move.
Experiencing bloodbath is like fighting a frontier monster.. And that is what hardcore community wanted and still wants... Monsters with insane difficulty, looking badass and with potential second stage forms. Bloodbath delivers all that and an epic stage 2 theme. Its a shame that capcom mh team wont bring that frontier taste into the main series... "Apex" in rise are a freaking joke, worth fighting1 or 2 times maybe... Thats it.
Regular Diablos. Hm..I struggle generate a strong opinion about it. I don't dislike it, but I'd definitely find it strange if it wasn't in Rise. Overall, a very meh monster for me. I fully expect to see Black Diablos in Sunbreak, but won't be heartbroken if it isn't. For Monoblos I can't say I expect or want to see it in Sunbreak at all. I'd rather see something more different come back such as a snake-like monster like Najarala! I'll echo everyone's sentiments on BB Diablos. It really is an unfortunate downgrade in Rise. ALSO good lord the mic quality difference is night and day. Another great video! Maybe we'll see one covering the evolution of a Bird Wyvern next?~

Oh and final point for Monoblos, i really like him and its sad it isn't really that often in games, it kind of received the Rathian treatment but worse, being overshadowed by a close counterpart, while still being different in a lot of ways... i mean in gen 2 Monoblos (along with Garuga) was Khezu/Basarios level, its almost funny...
As a child i was so scared hunting diablos.
White Monoblos was easily one of the hardest fights in MH4U
I remember not being able to finish the last two bloodbath quests
Truly a nightmare only for the top of the elite
Very well organized and comprehensive video; been loving this series so far! One very, very small correction, though: in the World section you mentioned that the horn uppercut was exclusive to black Diablos, when both normal and black can perform it. Kinda weird how the two keep swapping moves around; I wonder if Monoblos will end up borrowing anything from Diablos and/or Bloodbath if it ever shows back up.
Diablos is my second favorite monster mainly because he’s just brute force. He can whoop so many monsters’ asses without any sort of power. And he looks pretty cool and sounds fucking sick too
I wish they’d bring back monoblos, S rank white monoblos armor was really cool
hope you can do normal monster especially bullfango i want to see its evolution of how annoying it is
Wow you're in luck!
ruclips.net/video/34_HYsrMep8/видео.html
Probably the monster I think would have among the heavier wings, excluding outright rocky or metallic monsters like Gravios or Kushala
The best part about apex/ bloodbath diablos is that he don't only grow stronger but also smarter,
I’m completely new to this franchise but the main thing I know is that my sister absolutely adores Bloodbath Diablos and has spent entire real life days fighting it over and over again. She also led my unsuspecting noob ass to a Diablos in World when I was meant to be fighting a Barroth. I ran away very very fast.
I really wanna fight Mono, my first encounter was in stories 2 and i fell in love with it, so yeah id love it back
I genuinely still don’t why there’s isn’t a diablos sub species with no wing
Should be noted that Diablos can be either male or female but the only way to outright tell if one is female is if it's in heat or pregnant where the females turn black. Both males and females compete for territory which is why they both sport those horns. Diablos, especially Black Diablos are one of the creatures Deviljho are afraid of and they will go out of their way to avoid them (The turf war really doesn't make sense). Black Diablos are also on par physically with Elder Dragons.
My favorite Monster in the franchise
My all time favorite monster, always has been, right next to the raptors diablos has always been my favorite fight and design
something to note about apex vs bloodbath if you consistently hit apex diablos' head it will knock it out of its powered up state it does not work on bloodbath bloodbath goes in and out as it pleases and when in massacre mode it does not leave ever but partbreaks does weaken some of its attacks i.e tailcut weakens its rock sizes, 2 horn breaks make its hitbox slightly smaller on charges.
"DIABLOS!" -Tony Jaa
Diablos is a herbivore fun fact.
Let me explain my thoughts on them each seperately:
-monoblos for me is a waste of a monster, but not in a good way, but more in a sad way. it's cool looking, a styraco-like diablos that uses one larger and straight horn, and as a monster that is exclusive to the singleplayer because of the rarity of these monsters and that it was classicaly a singleplayer final boss, adding it by how in 4U, it has alot of distinctive moves that's not the same as the Diablos part, just makes me want more Monoblos over Diablos.
This is the first monster that just trashed me in 3U❤️
A bit sad there's no mention of the one horned demon king, but still a good video
Surely Sunbreak will bring armor sets to the apex monsters, right?
Hope so!
Fatalis: "I hate everything!!!"
EX Bloodbath: "Pfft amateur."
Imagine if bloodbath came back for sunbreak wouldn't that be so cool
You forgot one move he has in world where he goes underground and then charges out of the sand falls in his sleeping area. Also in world he can drag monsters above his cave down into it
Could you do the Great Wroggi next
The 3rd flagship of the game, never skipped a generation
Wasn't there a one broken horn Diablos in Freedom Unite? It gave you red Diablos Gear if I remember correctly.
Yeah, it had G-Rank stats despite being in village high rank.
Yeah, it had G-Rank stats despite being in village high rank.
Sadly Diablos is one of the OG monster in the franchise that doesn't have a rare species yet (eg. Silver/Gold Rath, Lucent, Molten, Abyssal)
I'm just glad his hipchecks don't break the fourth wall, like plesioth
Bloodbath is so cool I wish they put it in world
Good video
Diablos is the monster that made me *get* monster hunter, on a deeper level. Diablos is simple, but good. Strong, fair, telegraphed to hell and back, and above all, consistent. You can *count* on diablos, and that means there's nobody better to learn *counters*. I did a run in 4U? generations? where I did basically nothing but guard-point and SAED to kill Diablos, it was an utterly satisfying experience and did a lot to prepare me for Rise/Sunbreak's heavy, heavy emphasis on counter moves.
I want monoblos back
I never occured to me that Monoblos was solo only. Which other monsters are like that as well?
I think Lunastra in the Second Generation, although World reversed it. Nobody else comes to mind.
He is solo only even in frontier FYI :p
Bloodbath is an absolutely amazing design. Wish it was in World.
Sadly because of the status as Solo-only that Monoblos is known for, i dont have high hopes for its return since the series has pushed a lot of effort towards encouraging cooperative play and there isnt really an explicit way to lock it to solo outside of the village quest/hub quest system in Rise
I guess Diablos is one of my favorite monsters
I don't know why but I have a urge to hurt myself whenever someone says black is a subspecies
My favorite monster is zinogre
maybe bloodbath gets it return in sunbreak and apex is just a small preview of that in rise
would make some sense aswell with the vampire themed malzeno
I don’t really have an issue with the term apex being reused, besides redhelm, snowbaron, and stonefist I have not fought the deviants, also I’ve heard people say that apex rathalos is different than dread king, how true is that?
Bringing back the generation deviants would make sense for sunbreak as the true apex transformation.
Bloodbath took me and the friends 2 weeks to beat ex. One of us always died and it was fun seeing the funny ways we died. Rise off brand version is nothing like the bloodbath of old. If no armor or weapons for them in the grank there is no point in grinding them unless you like this one or just wanna experience it.
bloodbath is technically a grank fight so apex diablos is gonna be weaker.
@@marcusaaronliaogo9158 apex still gonna not be a challenge in the master rank, i bet but thats me assuming. We will have to see because i am sure he will still be just sticky stun to death.
@@zenith2876 I mean you could sticky stun everything, even bosses like alatreon even tho it has a dps check.
@@marcusaaronliaogo9158 Even so this is not a apex problem this is a problem with the game itself, i aint saying its to easy just saying if they wanted to give us the blood bath they could of made a more enjoyable match and not something to just choir threw for hr points. I have fate Sunbreak will make the game a challenge like mh gen being hella easy but not as easy as rise, to gen ults when its one of the best challenges in a mh game. Unless somehow they drop the ball.
Ah, remember when monsters doing something as simple as turning around could take half your health
It makes sense that you take damage since they make contact with your small body with their massive size but it being so devastating is just unfair. Fainting cause the monster turned around instead of getting hit with a cool attack just is so humilliating for me lol
@@gonnacry3278 G rank flashbacks
I wish they'd had bloodbath diablos in monster hunter world, I'd have liked a final high raw switchaxe and the diablos switchaxe looks cool
Bloodbath is too good of a fight. They shouldn’t leave him in the dust, ever really. Fight is too fun and really intense
You gonna do an evolution of fatalis?

The Diablos is such a bane to my existence as a SnS main in MHR I have a difficult time to take this thing down
