I grew up with a Mark II. Always hated that stupid disassembly lever on the backstrap for cleaning. I'm happy they fixed that nonsense. Excellent pistol and my target model was a tack driver. The bull barrel looks very nice. They are a hoot to shoot!
What a huge difference between taking apart this gun and the MK II. The MK II is a pleasure to shoot, and very accurate. However taking it apart to clean is a major PITA! I actually don’t use it much because of it. Great video.
Do you think this gun is worth it? and if so, how much would you pay for a used one? my friend is selling one of these and it appears to be in good condition. thinking about buying it but im not sure yet.
I have not been to a gun show for 2 years because of back problems, so couldn't tell you what a good price is for a new or used one is. I know I payed $450 for this one years ago. It came with 2 mags and a case. I would try to buy a stainless steal one if you can find a good price on it and be sure if it was part of the recalled pistols that it has been retrofitted with the new safety. See my remarks in comments for details on that. Good luck pardner.
Look up Ruger recall how to test is the best advise I have. It turns our my Ruger is one that needs to be recalled! I ran the test and sure enough it will fire with the safety in the middle. I was not aware of the problem until your comment, so a big thumbs up to you. Here is results from a search I did! "All Mark IV™ pistols produced prior to June 1, 2017 are potentially affected and therefore are being recalled. This includes Mark IV™ Target, Hunter, Competition, 22/45™, 22/45™ Lite and 22/45™ Tactical models. These models bear serial numbers beginning with "401" (2017 models) or "WBR" (2016 models)."

This is one of the simplest guns I have to clean! Accurate also!

Thanks for rubbing it in😂
Wow Steve, that is what you consider a small amount of oil? Good looking pistol.
Take the wood grips off and put on a set of Hogue rubber grops... big improvement in hand comfort.
I like your video but please use magazine versus clip it's a minor point but it can show people you know more than the average person
My God thats so much better than my Mk III.
great vid thanks!
Glad you liked it!
how do you take off end piece where you rack it? i saw something called a halo you can add on it?
I need to make a new video for the firing pin next. I hope to get back to working on more videos soon.
no need... I bought one, never needed to install it...
It looks heavy. How does this firearm balance?
Your right, it is a little front heavy, but very accurate to shoot. It is my favorite 22! Thanks for the comment!
The ones with the tapered barrel like my version of the Mk III are much better balanced. Imo I also think they look a bit cooler
Great, well balanced!

Жаль, они хорошие пистолеты....
Я знаю, что в России нелегко достать оружие. Моя жена из Омска, я был там много раз. Жаль, что там так сложно купить оружие.

Ругер Марк IV Хантер! 22 caliber!
