Same thing here man, my dad got mine not that long ago but about 10 years ago. I’m turning 27 and he finally passed it down to me, will be my sons one day when he’s old enough
I bought my Ruger P89 in 1994 and it has shot well, thousands of rounds thru it. I’ve used it in The Tactical Games competition a few years back, guys were tripping. One problem, I couldn’t find extra magazines and checked like 7 stores. After the competition I mail ordered extra magazines. Great Gun! Thanks for this video. This will be handed down to my son. 🤩
It’s really a classic I would. say it’s reliable and it’s a work horse 🐎 I received mine from my uncle who bought his 94 as well to and I’m 37 now and it still looks and functions like the day he bought it.
Thank you sir. This is the first time I've ever had a P90 in my hands, and its for cleaning only. It was so gummed up, I thought I was going to need to use a punch, just to get the takedown pin out. It's like butter now. Thanks again.
I’ve owned my P85 for years. When I first put it in my hand the gun just felt like it was made for me. I’ve loved it ever since. I know people say oh it’s just a Rugar and your right. It is a Rugar! Good shooting.
Thank you! Buddy of mine inherited his brother's P90 who had passed. It desperately needed a cleaning. I totally forgot to pull the lever inside the mag well. I appreciate the help.
Mr. Whitacre- I am saddened to hear of your illness. I wish you a quick and complete recovery. I appreciate the feedback RE comment. If I didn’t mean it, I wouldn’t have written it. I sincerely appreciate the instructional video. Your love of and respect for firearms shines through. I wish you safe journeys for the days ahead. Peter
Got a Ruger 45 that I had for years and never knew how to break it down to clean it. Although I only shot it off twice in the country since having it. Pulled up this video broke it down clean it and put it back together. Thanks for the info.
Very helpful, I watched the video from Ruger first and couldn't get it apart. This video was much better. I have my dads old gun and this is the first time i cleaned and oiled it. He bought it in 1993 after Clinton banned mags that held more than ten rounds, I bought a Ruger 15 round factory mag a few years ago. Gun has been trouble free all these years
I bought mine in 97. Damn things always hungry for more, never a jam on any type ammo. Another 100 rds tonight finds me here cleaning it for maybe the fourth time ever.
Bought mine in 1993 and there's no way to know how many rounds it's had through it. Thousands and thousands (remember cheap ammo?). It's never failed to cycle. You've got yourself one fine handgun.
These were built for the Military but Beretta 92f got the contract. Ruger is a workhorse of a gun. Solid well built anti corrosion finish strong weapon, Never had a jam or malfunction. Great gun last forever.
Got received a p98. Heavy and a crappy trigger but for some reason I really like it. Doubt I'll put it in my carry rotation but it will be a great truck/home gun.
I bought mine in the early to mid 1980's and it has probably not had three boxes of ammo shout through it. I replaced it as my CC about 4 years ago with a S&W M&P Shield. Very few rounds fired through it. (Yes, I have other guns that I use more frequently.
P90 was my first handgun. Got it my 21st birthday back in 1999. Still got it. Got the p94dc and p95. There are like bricks in your hand but still not giving them up.
It's sounds like there is some kind of problem with your Glock if you are having jamming problems! You should have your gun checked I think. I shoot 115 grain full metal jacket ammo and it never jams!
In fact I hope to finish-up a video tomorrow, and get it posted. I'm glad your interested. This one will be about something you will like. Something for any one who likes to shoot. Your right though, I have had some health issues that are getting better holding me back. Sorry about that. I am thrilled to see your remark. Thanks
I own 4 of them. 3 in 9mm and one p90 in 45acp Best Guns Ever! They were made in 1985 for the Military trials for New sidearm. 😢 IT was political. 😢 the Beretta ( m9) is junk. The Ruger p series pistols were MADE to shoot. + P ( Hot ammo) and 9mm carbine ammo ( Heavy 147grn ) the Beretta's come Apart! If you use this ammo in their Weak Ass Gun ! 😂 Yeah! Some idiot in 1985 said??? If you pick Beretta? They will build a Factory in the United states! And I can say I created 500 jobs or whatever and get Re elected next year. 😮🎉 and our Military? Got a worthless piece of shit. Again! 😂 and 1911/ 45 By John Browning ! Is still the BEST! For Almost 125 years! 😆 THAT! Is Doing RIGHT the First TIME! 😂❤🎉
My dad bought this gun the day I was born in 1994. I’m now 27 and he’s passed it on to me, thank you for this video!
Take care of it!
Mine was p85 mkii and still cherry like Auntie Mary

Best P89 breakdown vid on the net, fast and clear as bell!!!!! Thank you !!!
Wow, thanks!
Better than the video from Ruger
Great video! Really helpful. I've got a p89 that was my uncle. He since passed this gun's over 20 years old and we ain't never jammed on me either
It’s really a classic I would. say it’s reliable and it’s a work horse 🐎 I received mine from my uncle who bought his 94 as well to and I’m 37 now and it still looks and functions like the day he bought it.

I like this kind of video, just the facts, no unnecessary stories.
Thank you so much, I’m getting ready to clean this particular firearm for my grandpa. The gun has been collecting dust for almost two decades.
Thanks. I inherited my dads P85 with the fix. I just started using the range and I can say I love this gun. Thanks for the quick, quality info
I've had my Ruger for 27 years n yes it's a great gun ! Thanks for sharing sir ! 👍

P89 is making a huge comeback… thanks bud!
Thanks bud…!
Haven’t cleaned/shot her (p90) in a while, so I really appreciate the refresher.
I’ve had a P89 now for almost 30 years, still a fave.pain in the ass to clean compared to the new polymer guns but it’s rock solid.
Your right! This gun to put it simply is just a tank!
Just watched this again as a refresher thank you
Great!
That’s Straight to the point and a damn good video thank you simple quick easy no BS
Just bought a blued p85, thanks for the help! Almost had it right the first time without researching

Steve, Very helpful video thanks for taking the time to make this video. Great instructions.
Old but gold. Uncle handed mine down came right to youtube
I bought mine in 97. Damn things always hungry for more, never a jam on any type ammo. Another 100 rds tonight finds me here cleaning it for maybe the fourth time ever.
This is one of the best firing guns in my arsenal and it will take on any elements an keep working. Ruger had a home run with this gun
Bought mine in 1993 and there's no way to know how many rounds it's had through it. Thousands and thousands (remember cheap ammo?). It's never failed to cycle. You've got yourself one fine handgun.
I have never had a miss fire having shot thousands of rounds also!
Great video👍🏾straight to the point
my 1st semi-auto 9mm. love this one!
Good video Steve. I needed a refresher!
Glad it was helpful!
I love a straightforward video.
These were built for the Military but Beretta 92f got the contract. Ruger is a workhorse of a gun. Solid well built anti corrosion finish strong weapon, Never had a jam or malfunction. Great gun last forever.

Thank you I got mine apart and put it back together .
Thank you sir for the video. And video did help me.
Glad it helped
I bought my p89 in 06 it is a tank I'll never get rid of it voluntarily. My wife loves it so it's probably actually hers. LOL
I have had this one at least that long too. My wife likes it too!
Great video had problem taking down my late father's P89. In the future,, for accuracy sake, recommend you use the term MAGAZINE and not CLIP.
Got received a p98. Heavy and a crappy trigger but for some reason I really like it. Doubt I'll put it in my carry rotation but it will be a great truck/home gun.
You are right! I have always thought of it like a tank, heavy and durable.
Thanks for the video it’s very helpful 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Glad it was helpful!
Got a question my p89 magazine won’t go into the gun , got any advice? The ejector arm stays blocking it
Take pencil and push it up from the bottom. Put it in like your putting in a mag and put it back in place. Happens all the time.
@@sewskates I’ll try and comment if it worked or not thanks
Cool vid thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Great video thanks make more
More to come!

Great video!!! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
the first pistol I ever purchased decades ago and, I agree, it is a "keeper"!!!!
This was also my first. That is cool!
P90 was my first handgun. Got it my 21st birthday back in 1999. Still got it. Got the p94dc and p95. There are like bricks in your hand but still not giving them up.
What grain ammo can I use so mine doesn't jamm
It's sounds like there is some kind of problem with your Glock if you are having jamming problems! You should have your gun checked I think. I shoot 115 grain full metal jacket ammo and it never jams!
Thanks Steve 👍🏼👍🏼
This was my Dad's gun...shot 500 rounds of range ammo the other day did not jam once.
Una hermosa arma ,la tengo en 45 😍😍😍😍😍
pienso lo mismo!
When I pull the slide
Stop out on mine, I bring the slide forward but it is stuck. Will move
Up and down on the pistol but not come off
Same thoughts on my P85
Hogue rubber grip. Makes it feel like a completely different gun.
I'll have to check into some grips. That might be what mine needs too.
It do. It do. It really do. Like night and day.
Hey Steve! I like your videos but you haven't posted lately, was just wondering whether you were doing good and had any videos in the works 👍

My dad came to me with his because it jammed and it won’t slide back anymore anyone else that has had this problem
My slide is stuck!!!
my slide won't come off. watched this 10 times, doesn't work.
If you watched the video then you will need to see a gun smith next. Sometimes shit happens.
That happened to me…I just didn’t have the slide stop pulled out far enough
Magazine
great video, thanks!
