I like the way you do filming now, including both, hard goods and clothing. I like when you pull shipping and I like when you do haul videos. So, it seems I like everything you do 😃 You are always in a good mood, kind and polite. ❤
The blotchy paint print where you saw a bird chasing a bird, was held upside down - it is a map of the world😊
I’m 70 years old and I put children’s sheets on my double bed. They’re so cheerful!
Those beautiful glass pieces make great gifts. I buy all of them i can throughout the year, then at Christmas time i fill them with Christmas candy, cookies, nuts & fruits, then i give them away to my mail lady, teachers...along with just random people. Plus when i go to Christmas parties, I put whatever i make to take in a beautiful vintage dish and leave it for the host. I also find everything i can about the dish, print it out and attach it to the dish so the person will know the history of it. ❤
If i go to a company party, i always take cookies or candy. I write a note saying "whoever ate the last piece of candy, gets to take my beautiful dish home", then i tape it to the bottom of the dish, and place a piece of candy on top. 🎉
Great ideas... I think I will give the concept a try this Christmas.😊
I love that idea!
Griswold does make your pot with the orange lid, listed on posh for over $100! Sweet!
Flat sheets are also used for backing of homemade quilts. They can be cut for fabric for pillowcases, quilts, pillows, curtains, or fabric for resell.
Your boy is always smiling and you're always laughing with him. What a fun couple and a pleasure to watch you two together. So professional, and so entertaining. Well done, Queen!
The "Cities" Made in Italy square plates are by Rosanna. She started as a designer with her own store in Seattle importing goods from Italy. She designs for many companies, Williams-Sonoma, etc. I have some "Postcards from Italy" mugs she designed for Starbucks 30yrs ago.
Hey I’d 100% want that bug sheet as a grown adult! It was cool! You don’t have to be a kid to want fun sheets.
I agree!🎉
Same
Hardgoods!!
My daughter is working on her masters in entomology. I bet she would have liked the bug sheet too.
The orange enameled cover is correct for that Griswold aluminum roaster! GREAT find!!
That golf umbrella is for your clubs. You stick it in your golf bag and it keeps your clubs dry.
Can’t believe you passed on the tray with Dopey on it. Ahhh! The Disney Army would be all over that. 😪
Hi Karen and Roger, Roger asked why the umbrella was so tall? It's a golf club umbrella to protect your golf clubs from rainy weather! Who knew!😂 I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the video!🎉
That's what I thought..
That’s right 🌂⛳️
So it goes into your golf bag?
@@cheryldavis8776 yes to protect the club cover and the leather handles don’t sit in water
Also so the bottom of the bag doesn’t get full of water.
The umbrella is for your golf clubs in the bag to keep them dry. It has a long handle to secure it all the way along the bag, as the bag will give it more support. The orange lid had a handle that was the same metal as the pot.
You two blow my mind!! You both are so good looking , you could be models! I’m surprised LLBean hasn’t contacted you for modeling!!
😂 you are too kind 💜💜
Hairy Tornado just went back to his oldest ebay listings and systematically relisted them, changing one thing in each listing, and his sales jumped! Did we just get to spend over an hour with Karen? Yes we did😂
Nearly 4k listings…. I would never have the time 😂
Hello. I’m interested in what you mean by “systemically registered them?”
@tylerandbellastoys6868 she said Systematically, not systemically
@@tylerandbellastoys6868 relisted... typo, sorry!!!
@@lavenderclothesline4,000!! Oh My😮
I'm in Seattle and so envious of Goodwill pricing in your state. $2.99 for that lovely vase/bowl? Never out here. The nice donations go online and the rest are $9.99 and up. End of rant. lol.
Same here! I'm in Socal & lucky to be surrounded by estate sales every weekend. Don't even bother w/thrifts.
Same in NoCal. Really outlandish prices. I think if the west coast succeeds with their online listings that they will start doing the same throughout the rest of the country. But I keep hoping our Goodwills will have some sort of backlash.
@@LJack-ck8uh
Sounds mean to say, but I am inclined to agree with you! They are waaay too greedy for their own good... I mean they get ALL of their inventory for FREE! BUT now they want to get full value like eBay does. It's really absurd.
I really hope they price themselves out of the market and suffer for lack of customers and sales... they need to realize that they're NOT the only game in town! Great bargains and excellent thrifting experiences can always be found at yard sales, estate sales, and flea markets.
I've no empsthy in my heart for the likes of Goodwill Industries.
Same here in Portland, Oregon. It’s a pretty sad day when I have to say I can’t afford to shop at Goodwill anymore. I am hoping people start boycotting them & maybe they’ll get the hint. (Sadly, I know that will never happen).
Pomme de terre - potatoes
Farine- flour
Haricots - beans
Those red pottery urns with lids from Italy were gorgeous and worth several hundred dollars. The cracked lid on one wouldn't have been a deal breaker as most people would use them for display and hide the repair. It's hard to know what to get, though. I'm a reseller myself and have my own regrets...lol
I agree... the damage would not have been a deal breaker for the right person... There are talented people who know how to aesthetically minimize the look of damage.
I would've loved to had the wooden tray with Dopey on it. My granddaughter would absolutely love it!😍
I agree that would have been a desirable tray with Dopey of the Seven Dwarfs.
You can't always go by your own tastes... that's been one of the hardest things for me to learn!
Ok that was a very cute tray.
I have a Collective plate set of Snow White and the Seven dwarfs. I got it for my Birthday a few yrs back.
That cat blanket sold on Poshmark for 99 dollars in a dusty rose color
Wow! I thought it might be worth something, if only for nostalgia sake. I had a similar one in the 90s that I kept draped over the back of my sofa for tv watching. This one is much cuter than mine.
I love, love, love those brass candleabra style candle holders! The frosted glass angle candle holders were by L.E. Smith, mid century. The sleepy dolls used to be a prize from the church carnivals in the early to mid 1960s.
I think those Roman gladiator-hefty-bag sandals were hilarious! Roger’s a good sport! 😆 Ink splotch was actually the world, but it was upside down. Also, I’m disqualifying myself from clothing vs hardgoods because I’m here for it all!! See you next time!
Hardgoods
Hardgoods!
Hands down!
I thought that’s what it was too
What I like is watching you pull solids. That way I get to see what people are buying.
Hey, Karen! I have been watching you since 2019. You are such a wonderful person. I'm so grateful you choose to share with us all your hard-earned knowledge. The hard goods are so fun to watch. So I'd never want to lose those haha. But I myself have to focus most of my efforts on reselling clothing, as I don't have much room to store items at my house. Therefore I do really appreciate learning about what to watch for clothing-wise. Either way, I'm just happy to join you on your reselling journeys. Thanks for inviting us to watch!
Good evening from Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦. I always look forward to your videos to see what you find.
I think a Charles Dickens or A Christmas Carol collector would love that, and we all know that weird sells!!
Hi Karen-I LOVE your videos! Watched for the first time this week. As a lifelong antiques lover, I l am retired and live in a small town in VA and volunteer in my church thrift shop, St.Peter's in Oak Grove VA. We do about $1500 each time we are open (3 hrs on Wed. & Sat.) I manage the eBay sales also. You and Roger are inspiring me to try to sell more items for our shop. We price things cheaply in the store because of the demographic of our area. Thanks for being you! CW
Karen, don't be afraid of Home Goods, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc. pieces when they say Italy or Spain....Home Goods etc. is a clearance store for higher end pieces.....I learned that from another thrifter!!
How is Disney Selection at those stores??
The umbrella goes in the golf bad to protect clubs. Looks to be in good shape.
I think clothing! But enjoy all!! I love you and Roger have the same sense of humor. You get him Roman sandals, he teases you, by sitting in a recliner when you’re walking into the store!! 😂😂
I am not sure, but right after the Jacky.O doll was a piece of pottery that you believed may have been from Italy, but unfortunately, it was 9.99 ....I believe I seen the same pattern that Laura Caldwell once found and it was a Bitossi vase...
Karen, the canister set is beautiful. They belong together, crack or no crack. 24:04
They would be on a niche in a large house and you would never see the crack.
I am stunned by your finds!
So true! Maybe I need to get to my Goodwill stores at opening. I’m not seeing that much good stuff these days.
Hey beautiful! Y'all r so blessed to live in your area with great finds at your Goodwills & Thrift stores! I love watching your channel! When I'm at thrift stores, I always cover my purse up with a piece of clothing !
I agree where I live poor selection
I used to hide in something like this hamper in the 60’s at my grandma’s when I was naughty 😂
😂
I would LOVE just a one-time long video where you shop for only clothes and tell us why you bought vs put back. The reason YOU in particular doing would be so great is I believe you have mentioned that you don’t find lots of high end brands. So you could teach how to make a living on mostly bread and butter and how/why you chooses the pieces you do! I think that could realllly help a bunch of us! Thank you in advance for considering!❤❤❤
I loved the long and narrow orange birdie art (on a "clothesline") you passed by for laundry... love art. I too have art in my large laundry office combo room! Such a great room I have with large oak cabinets and double broom/pantry! It's my Ebay office too. Which I'm doing terrible at, BTW. I find great art on-line goodwill all the time worth lots of money, latest is 1880s signed by french artist water color of a woman. Hugs!
what is your ebay store name? Let us know so we can add it to the stores we visit.
Hardgoods are what I like most. Love your videos.
And the rare, really quite unusual soft lines, I’ve found purses made by the Amish, etc
Shabbat Dinner table…Challah, Yalumka on Father, candles.
I'm all in on the hardgoods! The Roman sandals clip was priceless 😊. Thanks so much for taking us along with you guys and sharing in on the fun (work 🥴). 🥰
Happy Sunday Karen & Roger! Enjoyed your video as always with coffee & brunch! The hamper was lovely & pristine. My English Mum always sat me on the hamper (mid to late 50's era) while she put my hair up in pipe cleaners & told me stories of when she was stationed in a haunted castle in Scotland during WW2! It started me wondering what happened to that hamper? Great Memories! I know I prefer hard goods as it covers a vast amount of items. I feel inspired today as I have numerous boxes to packed away from my mountain cabin & also many items belonging to my parents & their families. Health issues keep me at home so make the best of it!😂
Patty 🐦🎶🌸 Alberta 🇨🇦🍁
Karen, at our house we ask if you would like some chicken soup with your Parmesan cheese. 😆 We love it too! Great finds as always. ❤️
Sounds like my house!
Yes please! 😂
Road trip!!! Thank you for taking us along!!!!
Karen you could use the broken lid one for flowers or plant 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
Or to hold cooking utensils.
Hello! So early! Absolutely love your videos! I learned a lot from them!
I'm a sucker for the hard goods!! So, I didn't notice anyone else mention it yet but you asked what we saw in that framed print with the splatter-y design and I think it was a world map but you had it upside down. I'm sure it'd would have been more noticeable in the other direction!! Love your shopping adventures!
I love to watch your thrifting spees, you are adorable. I like to see hard goods and clothes, just as you are doing presently. 😊
The colour of the hamper is chartreuse.
The "picture" you picked up was a map of the world, you just had it upside down.
Hello Karen and Roger! Watching from Anchorage, Alaska!🙂✌
I love seeing clothing and hard goods, both! I love your videos!
The hamper looks like a pea green to me. As for my vote, I would say hardgoods, because currently that's what I sell mostly. I actually like both, but you said we could only choose one. Thanks for the nice long video.
I sad Chartreuse green ?.? Lol.
That is a Christmas peice. It's Tiny Tim and his dad. I'd loveit.
With a menorah
I always say you have a calming voice. Good luck on the flips.
I want both Karen...dont tell me I can only pick one!!! I want it all!!! LOL
Impressed by the depth of your knowledge. Thank you for sharing with us.
Karen I love how you express yourself when doing your videos! So much fun. By-The-Way your admiration for Roger so beautiful. Great couple.
Debboe
Great long video. Love watching you and Roger find treasures. I am from East Tennessee and we say doo dads around here too. You must be liking the nail strips. They are so fun and have so many designs to choose from.
They are giving my nails ( and budget 😁) a break from the salon
I love to see clothing! I’ve learned so much from you!! ❤
I enjoy your videos, Karen, especially with the hard goods emphasis.
Karen, l love your channel. It must be because our tastes are so similar. That red floral needlepoint was beautiful, as well as the green glass bowl w/silver around opening. Your system in your basement is so organized & efficient. Gosh, wonder what it looked like when u 1st moved in. Congrats on you & Rodgers marriage. You really seem made for each other.💕🙏🌅👍
Hardgoods, but still with clothing hauls😊. You have to get use to saying "our" and not my, mine.❤
I love both clothing & hard goods! I love it when your videos show you picking up both & when you show us hauls for both & pick shipping for both! Learning a lot from you. So glad I found your channel! Thank you for being generous with your knowledge!
You’re welcome! 💜💜
I love seeing you film hard goods more than clothing 👍🏽
U r just glowing and beaming beautiful light and so proud of u and your man good luck in thrifting
As a miniaturist, I would buy that handmade Dickens display. I would put it under glass, even though it doesn't fit my normal 1/12 scale. Xx
Yes you did 😊! And it shows how much joy you have when talking about your job!
This depicts a Grandma and child lighting a menorah. Beautiful in a Jewish home!
The first sheet set with the helicopters, trucks, etc. was Pottery Barn as well. My son had that set along with the comforter. In fact, I still have all of it in my linen cabinet because I just can't let go . . .
The tag said Ikea 🤔
@@lavenderclothesline Oh really? Wow. I wonder if Ikea made their version of the PB sheets. It's been a few years since I looked at my son's so it certainly is possible that the vehicles are a bit different.
That unusual doll vignette with the old man and his grandson was a celebration of the Jewish Friday night dinner Shabbat. They each have on a
yarmulke and the table has the candles they light and challah bread. Could also be a celebration for Ha·nuk·kah or the boy's bar mitzvah? But definitely a Jewish celebration.
1:06:47 It's an upside-down world map. 🗺 If it were right side up I would pay the $2.99 LOL !!❣
Hardgoods, please !! Love your videos🎉
Hmm...I guess hard goods. I am so impressed by the cleanliness and organization of the stores you go to. Here in the Northeast...it is quite different. Kind of a mess. 😮
Great stuff!!! Funny about that dinosaur with the gnomes 🤪
I like HOMEGOODS
How cute when you said, "I see a bird chasing another bird" The ink blot picture. Pareidolia showed me a dog chasing a duck...😆😊
Love the nails! Got a great laugh out of the golf umbrella that read "Karen's Charity ____" when Roger held it over his head.
Is that what it said?
@@lavenderclothesline Yep!
Hard goods has my vote for sure! Loving all of your videos as I watch a marathon of them. ❤
Hey Karen, I am watching some of your older videos and saw where you thought the orange lid didn't actually go with the griswald cast aluminum roasting pan. However, the orange lid does in fact belong with the pot. It is definitely supposed to be the lid for that pot. You've probably already got this info, but just in case, here it is. Enjoy your shopping. I don't know how you do it.
Karen congratulations on the awesome find of the MCM green hamper. I have been on the hunt for one for ever. 👏🎉👏🎉
My Italian grandmother always put cheese on top of her homemade chicken soup and I still do!
Can you alternate videos of hard goods and clothing, l love them both!! Loooove that vintage hamper, OMG!
Whenever I see your intro and that wooden cat I chuckle. We had two that my husband's sister brought from Thailand over 50 yrs ago. Don't know who we gave it to when we moved....
I think the sculpture is awesome and would proudly display it in my home. Anything as unique as that piece that is possible a one of a kind I find interesting as well as unusual I will buy.
Oh,a swimsuit,...it even has a bottom! All of my suits have bottoms! Hahaha
Hello Karen and Roger. Absolutely love your video. I just found you on RUclips a week ago and I’ve watched many of your videos since I appreciate all the knowledge you share I am envious that your Goodwill’s and your thrift stores are so nice in Pennsylvania. I’m in California and we really have to fight for decent thrift stores that you can afford to buy their items, most times they charge higher prices than new store items. Thank you for sharing your thrifts……Roni
Good to know they have upgraded! I’m pretty local. I’ll have to visit again. Thank you 😊
It looks like a Seder a Jewish family would probably want that. It’s beautiful you should’ve bought that.
it is wonderful to see you so happy. you just shine.
My Mom was from Texas so the words I use sound funny too. I use doo dads too!
I like hard good's the best ❤️ I love watching all your videos ❤
Yes! That's the right lid for the Griswold!
It appears that the orange top is original. I googled and found photos.
Yes, I googled it and found it as well. It is the original lid for the for this pan it’s a 1960 era. And they do bring quite a bit of money. I love the orange color as my kitchen is done and all the orange and olive green 70s look.
Great find
I like both, learning clothing and hard goods .. A few more clothing idea’s would be fun occasionally.
“It’s not bad luck when it’s a golf umbrella.” 😄
Love the cut and color your hair.❤
Laura Caldwell Left Coast revival You Tuber says brass is back. She sells lots of vintage brass & Mid century.
This thrift store is amazing, you can’t find stores this great where I live, not sure why unless everything getting washed away by hurricanes, I would love to head north on a shopping spree one day!
Oh, and the crucifix was used for last rites. My mother kept one on the wall of our home.
That picture was a picture of the world. You had it upside down.🤗
Funny, we took a thrifting road trip yesterday and hit 10 stores, boy were we tired when we got back at dark!
