Was watching your video when I saw the wood cat and said to myself, "I want the cat." I paused your video, went on to your eBay store and saw you had it listed. I purchased it before someone else did. 😊
I don't understand why people think if they find a single attractive dish/plate that it is not still useful or desirable if they cannot find a match. If you look at tablescapes, very often odd dishware is used on its own and looks beautiful. Not every salad plate or cereal bowl has to be used for its original purpose and in multiples. My favorite plates/bowls in my personal collection are loners.
From what I hear various kinds/Styles of dishware is eclectic method and is Hot Now and has been for awhile. My tableware is various, all representative to my favs.
I can’t believe how neat your inventory is stored. No other ebayer has such dedication and professionalism. I don’t know how you do it by yourself. If I could take over someone’s business it would be yours.
You Re so organized Karen! I am always in awe when I see your basement. The Napco Christmas planter was my favorite of your finds today. So pretty and vintage looking.
Karen when any electrical items have a problem when you first get them please always ask for a replacement because 9 times out of 10 you will have a problem down the line. Just my experience. Loved the dolphin print. Great finds as always. Hope you're both well.
I am so glad your channel popped up for me Karen. It’s a different market in the U.S. to here in Europe. However, it’s all a about learning as a reseller. I love your videos and hints, tips and everyday chat. I am catching up on all of your videos 😊
But when you find things in your city - they really are OLD. My son brought me a lot of things from Japan when he was an exchange student. 700 year old items were nothing there. Here they don't even exist.
So organized and neat with all the inventory, that is something I know I wouldn't be able to do, it takes years of practice and patience. Yes to that pig, it's cute, we love a good pig!
Black Plastic Shelves in Roger’s Area: I’ve used that style shelf before and have always found them to be inferior. They don’t adjust and sag under a weight load. I’ve always replaced them as soon as possible, with either built in wooden shelves or Metro style wire racks that have a height adjustment feature. Not all of my Metros are on wheels, but both wheeled and fixed are very useful. 😉😉
I would definitely buy the Japanese lusterware. Its worth alot when in great shape. Also EAPG has groups of collectors that would love to buy so many pieces yiu pass on. Its sharply cut and well made. I hope one day you'll learn more about it because I groan each time you pass on it. I love your videos, you are so calming to watch. Take good care, Im a huge fan of you and Roger and I look forward to your videos. Thank you so much for sharing all of your knowledge.❤
I also was hoping she would pick up this Luster set as well. This design is hard to fine. They have several other designs, but this one here is a hard one to find and I think it would go for pretty good money, and it was in very good condition. ❤️
🤗You are such a breath of freshness, love, caring and humor❗ You are not old... you look and act young cause you are young 👍sweet lady . I am old and going blind, but I can focus in on the 👏great items you show on my computer. Then you say what you think and I am with you and laughing my tiny and wrinkled butt off. We bought a whole kitchen full of Samsung appliances and have had trouble with the fridge and stove so far…never again! Thanks for your videos, your sense of humour cracks me up!
Karen, you probably already know but I think your glass item is a Dansk cigar/ashtray. They're really pretty but they don't sell for much. Have a good week! 😊
Karen and Roger, I'm so happy to be a part your lives, yes you both have a family based unit thru utube. I'm so happy for the both of you, and to find your partner doing what you both Love doing and you both have the same gift, and Talent. Not everyone can resale, it takes a special something, to be successful in it, especially to make a good living with it. Best wishes always. Much love from Alabama
Long time watcher, Karen, but first time commenting. I was looking at your metal, roller shelving. I bought two at Goodwill yesterday. They were $140 each Six foot, four or five shelves. Not a GREAT BUY, but much better than I've found on line and first time I've seen them in thrift store. I think the cost of storage would be one of your biggest upfront costs. The bins aren't cheap either. Love your videos.❤
I bought a rolling wire rack, break my boxes flat and lay them in sizes (s m lg) on the shelves. Yes have to retape but have an amazing assortment at my finger tips
We just got rid of our Samsung refrigerator and celebrated. That refrigerator gave us so much grief over the years. 😫 Sorry you are having trouble with one of their dishwashers.
I lived down the road from Peterborough, NH. It is a lovely and very artistic New England town. I shopped and had lunch there many times with some dear girlfriends😀. I’m so glad the baskets sell well because the quality really is amazing. Great video, as always.
I know Karen you work so hard/seven days a week; so I thank you you for giving us so much video time, which I enjoy every minute. I do like the painting, but not enough to have you retire.
May i suggest getting a much better dishwasher like Bosch. I had an LG when we redid the kitchen- was the only appliance that gave us the same problem non-stop. For a lil bit more $, we finally got better quality (and the LG wasn’t cheap either) I swear dishwashers are the biggest problem pain in the butt appliances ever.
You are so lucky that they honor the tag color of the week on hard goods where you are! Our local Goodwills only use the color tag of the week on clothing only! Not belts, not shoes, not linens., not hard goods..nothing! only clothing. So ticks me off! And yes, our prices are high too! (Western PA, North of Pittsburgh)
I collapse/flatten all of my boxes and store them vertically by size on a wire shelving unit. Boxes that are too long to go on the shelf lay flat on the very top rack. I just keep a few of those since I too am limiting the number of large items I'm shipping. I sell a good number of hard goods but work out of a very small basement space so this has been a huge space saver for me.
Please also show the work that goes beyond the fun of sourcing and gathering the sell items. That will help people to understand the loads of work goes in between shopping and picking what sold before they’ll rush out to spend all of their money. They get their inspiration from you to shop, but also they’ll need inspection from you to do the work and all of the work that goes beyond the whole concept of reselling. ❤
She does. She shows pulling shipping and tells about packaging the clothing and organizing the hard goods. She just said in this video that she works 7 days a week.
Karen has shown us the full spectrum of running a resale business for a long time. She shows us every video how much work goes into her business. I don’t know how she does it all personally.😊
The first item you found is a Napco Shopper girl, likely produced in the late 1950s. She is so adorable. These of course were mass produced and sold at places like Woolworths or JJ Newberrys and other similar stores. Adorable, love her. Also thanks for the part of your video showing what sold and your great organization of process. Starting to venture out into the resell world and good to have this information. Happy Thrifting! 🌸
Just throwing in my 2 cents about your brown boxes. I have those double wide tote bins where I break my boxes down flat and simply file them standing up by size; smallest in front, larger in back. They take up very little space. I hope this is helpful. Thank you for the fun videos!
I have to say I love the fast pace of Rogers method. You don't have to look at your inventory forever, it gets boring. I imagine that after a time, you get a following of folks who like auctions so you can make more income...
Karen I recycle a lot of boxes. I bought several plastic trash cans (square) and I break down the boxes and line them up close to size as I can. Then I use a bin for small boxes break them down line them up by size. I have also been using bags to ship what I can.
You’re like a friend to have coffee with! I started watching your videos three years ago and just kept following you!! Great finds! Regards to Roger🥰😁🤩
Hi Karen! Love your channel. I'm so jealous of all the Goodwill storess you have near you. The closest to me is an hour away! Anyway, I have started picking up a few hard goods because of you and found a Longaberger basket today! Also, did I hear that Roger lists a couple hundred items per week?! I must be super slow! Haha How many do you list per week? Thanks for sharing with us! Have a great day.
Thanks for sharing your dishwasher issues. I’m currently shopping for one. Someone who works for an appliance company told me not to buy Samsung or LG products.
2x4 & plywood shelves could be made under the stairs (accessing from the side.) I'm considering changing from plastic totes to legal size bankers boxes so I have more uniform sizes and straight sides.
I always look up Bing & Grondahl mother's day plates. Some can bring very good money. The panda plate just sold for over $300. Usually, the cuter the animal is, the better it will sell.
Bosch is the best dishwasher I’ve ever had! I’ve never had to order a part, because I’ve never had a problem with it (I’ve had it for 6 years at this time), so I’m not sure about the back ordering of the parts. A friend of mine recommended it to me. She’s had hers for 12 years & has never had an issue with it. Highly recommend!
I ordered a robe from someone that is like the thickest blanket...but it's a robe...anyway...when it arrived it was so small...I opened it up...and WOW...
@Lavender Clothesline I chuckled when you said you've been in Goodwill 1000's of times, hence I've been in only ONE (1) Goodwill ever in my whole life & I'm 57yrs old. 😮. I am completely envious of you but the closest Goodwill to me is probably 300 miles round trip. Anyhoo, I love your videos, I'm learning a lot and made my 1st eBay sale last week 🎉 ! Thank you for sharing all that you do❤
I love pre-packing stuff I list (like you did with the puffy quilt and Roger does with his merch). The only issue I've come across is when people bundle items and I have to repackage different things. Love the sandpiper picture!
Hi Karen! I break down my boxes and put them in a large box so I can flip through them, since most are Amazon boxes (I know most of their sizes by number). I put them in order of size as much as possible so I can easily grab the best size.
I use Dryel for silk or any dry clean item. The kits come with a stain remover and pads to remove deodorant marks. Always refreshes the item and 95% of the time removes the spot or stain.
One of the biggest mistakes I made was getting a new dishwasher. It doesn't come close to being as good as my old one that just operated with manual dials. 🥴
CostCo has great metal shelfs with good!! Wheels for 119. They fit 3 plastic goid side bins across. I replace my plastic ones when I move my things to the garage. I live in Florida and it is very hard for any little florida buggies to climb up the silver chrome shelves. They are so easy to “stack” and move around!!
H Karen - Oh the dishwasher install...pointing fingers...no...need a whole new dishwasher along with a guaranteed tested install. "Baby you ain't leaving this house until you PROVE to me there are no leaks!" What I told my plumber when they installed my dishwasher (well in a more biz like way of course) LOL. And when he was done he showed me, all the connections and started it, etc. I have a drawer dishwasher, its smaller than a regular one and I love it, well love is a strong word but I've had it about 10 years and we are good. No leaks..I have all new beautiful cabinets (then and new hardwood flooring so I definitely didn't need any leaks). I even had another plumber come over to check the 1st plumbers work - well he was there on a shower faucet leak so I said hey can you please look at this? New Dishwasher & new garbage disposal install? Sure he says...and said it looked great. See I was paranoid. Now if I could have only listened to my kitchen designer when she suggested I wouldn't want a trash compactor. I thought I would. I had no idea how expensive and hard to find good bags was. And how useless the compactor was. Nope. I never use it. Wasted space. Good luck with the dishwasher! Oh loved the piper parade, piper party print you were looking at. I like her work so did some more investigation. Looks like a print would be around $37, and with frame would be $276 on prints.com. Or the real glycee on canvas un-stretched signed with certificate of authenticity sells for about $175 (no frame). One of my favorites of hers is Tanquil Shores and Quiet Inlet. I would love to get those two and put somewhere in a room, one each side. So so pretty. Ok well I'll get back to your vid. LOL.
I think the oval glass piece is a cigar ashtray. Go with Bosch dishwasher. Samsung is a joke. My daughter has LG…only 3 years old and the racks have rust at the joints. Also, it doesn’t dry even with high heat. Have to remove and air dry or hand dry over 50% of the load.
It just breaks my heart to hear that you are having some problems with your dishwasher after you were so pleased to finally own one. Nothing mor aggravating than having a problem with an item and then having to fight to get restitution 😢
I believe there were some Denby coffee cups, 4 of them, at the 31 minute mark. They look like Potters Wheel Parchment pattern. I have the complete set, mine are over 40 years old. They are made in England. Too bad you didn’t pick them up.
Samsung has had Huge problems with there appliances. Make them replace the dishwasher if they "can't fix it" also it should be under warranty. Hope you get it fixed quickly.
I believe that the legality of selling used mattresses is a State by State law and also depends whether it is an individual selling or a company. At least that’s what I found online one time when I was curious about the same question. I also know that some charities will accept used mattresses. I too feel a bit ooky about selling/buying a used mattress, but if I think about being in dire need of one then my feelings may be different, ya’ know? Just things that make me go “hmmmm”.
I still have my Kenmore dishwasher 💕 and love it! My brother and a friend of mine have Bosch and they both love them. If you don't have a Bosch you shouldn't need parts yet! 😂 But really, no one I know that has a Bosch has had to have repairs! If someday I need a new dishwasher it will probably be a Bosch.
We bought Samsung microwave, stove/oven and fridge when we redid our kitchen. BIG MISTAKE. Needed a new oven stove right away (motherboard didn't work) and the ice maker has been a problem since installation. Their tv's are great, appliances are awful.
Was watching your video when I saw the wood cat and said to myself, "I want the cat." I paused your video, went on to your eBay store and saw you had it listed. I purchased it before someone else did. 😊

We bought our bosch dw used ten years ago. I love that thing! If it ever needs replacing another bosch it'll be.
Bought my Bosch dw 2007 and still working.
Many repair technicians are saying they are having a problem getting parts
Love my Bosch stove, bought used, it’s a beast!
Hello Karen. I replaced a Samsung dishwasher with a Bosch dishwasher. The best thing I ever did. I love it.

Boxes! Boxes! Love your content!!! What about leaving one box of a common size as a “place holder” and placing matching broken down boxes within?
What a great idea!
That is what I try to do

I would want a new dishwasher. My sister bought Miele because their average for service calls was once every 23 years. Great dishwasher.

Bosch dishwashers are the best!
Everyone is saying parts are hard to get ( back ordered)
Just throwing in my 2 cents about your brown boxes. I have those double wide tote bins where I break my boxes down flat and simply file them standing up by size; smallest in front, larger in back. They take up very little space. I hope this is helpful. Thank you for the fun videos!

Just a tip, I have used Space bags to ship quilts and blankets. It sucks all the air out and then they fit in a smaller box.
I've done that as well. Only one time did it get punctured thru the box and push out of the box. :(

LOL.
I miss scavenger life’s podcast so much! Love visiting their coffee shop, their coffee is sooooooo good!
Samsung anything is bad. I bought a washer dryer set. Terrible. I LOVE my Bosch dishwasher. They are great.
I love peterboro baskets
It just breaks my heart to hear that you are having some problems with your dishwasher after you were so pleased to finally own one. Nothing mor aggravating than having a problem with an item and then having to fight to get restitution 😢
Our color of the week is CLOTHING ONLY!!!! in WV...crazy!!
I want that owl ❤
Looked for him in your eBay store couldn’t find hi, 😢
We do love a good pig!
I believe there were some Denby coffee cups, 4 of them, at the 31 minute mark. They look like Potters Wheel Parchment pattern. I have the complete set, mine are over 40 years old. They are made in England. Too bad you didn’t pick them up.
I love Denby! ❤
u need to buy that lusterware set!!!
I agree! loved it. Beautiful colors! I'm not to the end of the video yet, so hope to see that she went back for it.
Maybe you have done this, but I'd love to see videos on how you photograph, list items, and then pack them.
I sold the singing elvis hallmark and marylin Monroe hallmark last Xmas for 30 a piece! Those are bolos sold very quick 2 days of listing!
I’m a child psychologist and I played CREATures in a session today!!!
Samsung has had Huge problems with there appliances. Make them replace the dishwasher if they "can't fix it" also it should be under warranty. Hope you get it fixed quickly.
You are so much fun and give us so much information I’ve been marathoning all your videos
Glad you like them! 💜💜
I would love another actually packing Items to ship! I find that so interesting
Love your videos!
Just things that make me go “hmmmm”.
suggestion...flat the boxes, save space and organize them by size....maybe Roger can do a cubby to put all the flaten boxes.
Too much work to break down and rebuild hundreds of boxes
I still have my Kenmore dishwasher 💕 and love it! My brother and a friend of mine have Bosch and they both love them. If you don't have a Bosch you shouldn't need parts yet!
😂 But really, no one I know that has a Bosch has had to have repairs! If someday
I need a new dishwasher it will probably be a Bosch.
We bought Samsung microwave, stove/oven and fridge when we redid our kitchen. BIG MISTAKE. Needed a new oven stove right away (motherboard didn't work) and the ice maker has been a problem since installation. Their tv's are great, appliances are awful.
