In Part 3 of my Fogponic series. I talk cabbage, NASA, droplet size, BDSM... I finally discovered why I have been seeing slow growth, and check out the fuzzy root systems in my aeroponic garden. Growing aeroponic cabbage is easy and satisfying with some beautiful root systems. If your looking for a first plant for your ultrasonic fogger garden cabbage is a great choice. and tasty!!

This is a great experiment. There's potential in growing this way. My brain is going all over the place with ideas from this. Thanks for sharing!!

That was interesting! So many variables! The cabbage looks great.

I've been spending a few years designing 3D printed parts for an aeroponics setup (mostly taking so long because I'm being lazy, not because of anything too intricate), and the root system kinda matches what I expected when I saw your earlier explainer video for this set up - the pipes are too tight, they're set up at the same pipe size you'd use in a nutrient film or ebb/flow hydroponics system, not a system where you want to circulate particles in airflow.
Ideally you'd want something more barrel-sized to allow wide circulation and unrestricted growth, maybe with some minimalist framework inside to give a little structure the roots can fan out on. But anything the size of the pipes you've got is going to wind up getting choked out by the roots.

What about a humidifier feeding a root chamber with an airstone and somehow keeping nutrient solution in humidifier low 60s

Maybe this is a great way to start plants and build root structure, but not a great way to grow them to maturation Migrating these to a more spacious container will allow the roots to spread, and uptake much more nutrient.

Problem is that nutrient salts will break ultra sonic foggers

How long is it suppose to take? I have 4 running full time for a few months now and I've had to replace 2 ceramic plates (they each come with 3 extra) but no foggers broke yet, I would love to know so that I can be ready. Thanks for the comment :)

@@humblegrowth Like you stated was more a maintenance deal than the fogger completely breaking. Tho I did have a few go down completely. Probably 6 months in started the major issues. But higher parts n feed rates I'm sure contributed. I didn't stick with it much longer than when problems arose, just switched to NFT. Was on a large scale with a cash crop, high temps, n hungry plants so not alot of room for error therefore I didn't mess around too long. Sounds like you already got it under control. Happy growing friend

@@cliffhooper3558 Awesome Cliff thank you for the info. TBH I'm pretty over fogponics as well. My stubborn nature won't just let me give up lol Watching every other hydro garden I have out perform my fog gardens is a bit frustrating.
