Nick Gilder did the original Body Talk song on his album from 1981. He also wrote the hit song for Scandal (Warrior) with Holly Knight from Spider so there's a connection to another song on the album. I had to look up the Body Talk music video after you said it existed. I enjoyed it.

I actually prefer the Nick Gilder version of Body Talk... a lot less bells and whistles on that one! I have that Scandal album! LOL :) Body Talk is an fun video yes... the song... meh... :)

I skipped through the songs, but I didn't really like them, except Mighty Mouth. But while writing this comment I was listening to Dancin' Undercover by Ratt, and the song Body Talk played. Now that I like. :D

Yeah, there are 2-3 songs i like on Cool Kids only... the rest are "ok".... Of course, Ratt's Dancing Undercover is great! Body Talk is great too! Funny, i think that people who don't know Ratt and hear this song absolutely LOVE it! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks for your review, Dan! Yes, this is also my least favorite Kix album and for many of the reasons that you discussed. Kix played Northeastern Pennsylvania a lot in the '80s before they hit the mainstream with Blow My Fuse and would continue to throughout their career. You would hear "Cool Kids" and "Body Talk" during the late night hours on the pop stations here. They very rarely hit this album live in the later years. However, I was at their farewell show in Columbia, MD and they brought out Brad Divens to play on "Mighty Mouth" and "For Shame" and for the show ending "Yeah Yeah Yeah" where Ronnie, Brian, Bob Pare, and Brad each had a solo. I saw them 6 times and I wish it was 26 because they were always great live. Cheers and thanks again!

Thank YOU for the suggestion! :) Thats cool they brought out Brad Divens for their last show! I did see some footage of that last concert on YT and looked great! I REALLY wish they'd have come up here to Canada, but alas, another band I'll never get to see live... :( And Yeah Yeah Yeah is SUCH a great song with a funny sketch in the middle! LOVE IT! Thanks again for watching, commenting and suggesting this album review! :)

I saw KIX at Narcissist in Boston. Wednesday Night / Metal night. Packed.
Girls were everywhere. Sex in men’s room. Bouncers didn’t care.
Midnight Dynamite tour - they were powerful as all heck. Exciting. Crazy.
It was like seeing the Ramones. Fast. Sudden. Loud.
Anyways, still haven’t bought Cool Kids - lol

I love the debut Kix album from 1981... it's a classic in my world.
Cool Kids was a big letdown in 1983 for me and the crowd I hung out with in those days. I like it a little more now, but it's nothing special. I prefer the original version of Burning Love by Spider (1980) and the 1985 cover by Lee Aaron from Call of the Wild.
I grew up in Martinsburg, WV and lived in the same neighborhood as drummer Shannon Larkin. We were good friends, and I remember when Brad Divens joined Wrathchild (pre-Wrathchild America) as vocalist and bassist. All those years ago!
As far as suggestions for future analysis:
    Vendetta - Vendetta (1982)
Power trio featuring guitarist/vocalist Niki Buzz, produced by Max Norman.
Madam X - We Reserve the Right (1984)
Cheesy but fun hair (and I do mean hair... especially bassist Chris "Godzilla" Doliber!) metal album featuring the Petrucci sisters! Produced by Rick Derringer!
    Bullet - No Mercy (1983)
Scorpions-like hard rock... even produced by Dieter Dierks!
Tane Cain - Tane Cain (1982)
Sole album by then-wife of Jonathan Cain, it features him as well as Journey bandmate Neal Schon.
    ✌️

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by, watching and commenting! :)
I love the KIX debut also! It's got its own little charm!
I wanted to mention Burning Love was covered by Lee Aaron, but forgot! LOL Doh... :/
Thanks for the future analysis suggestions... would you believe the ONLY one I own I Tane Cain??? LOL
Bullet I had ordered off some guy on Discogs and never arrived... :( (got my money back though) - I can easily get my hands on another copy though...
And Madam X is currently in my WIshlist...
Vendetta I was not aware of so it's now in my "check out" list...
      Thank you for the suggestions!

Wow, that comes as a surprise, it is also my least favorite album by them and I am a very big fan of this band!
I sold it but I have to admit I put it on my hard drive... So I kinda even "like" it, too but I guess I have read or seen some interviews with the band and they do not like it all... but still had "For shame" in their setlist years later. That is the song I like the most here ( 8 out of 10 from me), and its followed by "Burning love" ( 7 out of 10) and "Mighty mouth" (6 out of 10)
You're right that fake clap ruins it for me, too.
PS: As KIX have NEVER ever played a single show in Germany, unfortunately I have never seen them live, which is a shame as I know there are/were a very good live band!

Hey hey! Ya, I'm a huge fan of this band also! I kinda "like" it also... but no "love"... :) I guess I was a little too harsh on "for Shame" as I been humming that song all day! LOL And like you, I have never seen KIX Live... nor am I even sure they played in Canada ever??? Not to my knowledge....
