      I don't disagree, but it's the marketplace we have along with eBay, and unfortunately real stores use the two sites (plus Popsike) to price their vintage records

      It wasn't Discogs. It was 2020 and ignorant&stupid trendy people to be rough. The problem is the ignorant people who pay too much because they go with emotion, not brains, logic and real love for music. They just want to be trendy & different, cost whatever it cost. The vinyl bubble will burst eventually. This is still good time for CD's.

      @@uunoturhapure 2020 didn't help - ironically I got heaps of well priced cds that year - but the prices of vinyl started going north 2017. The days of finding five dollar vinyl like in 2000 are gone, and not sure if the genie will ever go back in the bottle.

      @@ExplosiveAction Agreed. I was there too. I think even best CD hunting years are already gone, like 2022 was the last good year to find really great deals. But the CD market is still very healthy, like vinyl was back in 2015 or so. Can't complain. It is just sad what happened with the vinyl. Let's hope the same thing will not came to CD's. Even if it means my collection would not be "expensive". I dont need it. Records used to be fun and affordable, of course there were rare & expensive records back then too, but it was different game. "Cult" items, remember? I mean, if the CD's became trendy people start to pay ridiculous amounts for example Suede or remastered J.Priest CD's just because it's on CD. Same happened with the vinyl. I understand people pay big money for stuff like 1st/early press underground metal (CD's), it is justified. Anyway, sorry for my bad english. Let's enjoy the music!

      By around 2010 first press vinyls were already pricey. You pay for what you get. An original osmose prod copy will always be worth more than 100 bucks. Now things have got better with quality reissues as those made by HRR, osmose itself, peaceville, metal blade or noise rec. In the case of Sodom, it is impossible to get a good reissue. Recently I paid between 80 and 160 for their first four records each. All in great condition. Not a bargain, yet a fair price... thats the most I've paid. Keep metal

Now I try to go to have an new Collection since 8 years. Until now I have 4159 Original on all Formats(Vinyl,Tapes and CDs). I`m possessed by Black/Death/Funeral Doom Metal. Thanx for your Answer. Where I shall begin , where shall I stop. Born in 1972 and gone insane for Metal in the early 80ties, ``cause of my older Brother. My first LP was Powerslave for Christmas and things goes rolling. In my Area nearly every Boy was into Metal. my Friends were more into the extreme Side of Metal,so in the late 80ties it become Napalm Death(Lee Dorian forever), SOB, Heresy,Satanic Malfunctions,Extreme Noise Terror,Anal Massaker and the likes....then came the Death Metal Wave... Carnage,Carbonized,Nihilist,Therion....then came the Moment when I first herad the Debut of Burzum and I got completely mad....Had a bigger Impact on me than Darkthrone. THIS WAS DEPRESSION AND HATRED. Sold my whole Collection to Hellion Records for far to less Money (All first Press).....a reason was the Death of one of my best Friends....Dennis from CELTIC MOON/NIGHTWOLF(Check out)....I was so much in Contact with alot of Bands within Europe. I regret my Descision until my End. So.I can`t change it but total Depression....but now I must say : Far too much Bands, to less Quality(don`t get me wrong....For me Ildjarn is Quality). No Ideas....I refuse to listen new Bands on RUclips because I think it is completely gay. So, I buy alot and am disappointed,hahaha. Latest Buy... Cheers, Wyatt, and agree re: 80s and 90s records - great artworks but simple releases on black, usually not gatefolds, just the music. Yeah that Nifelheim was quite the grail to get! I've got the debut on original CD but a vinyl would be a great upgrade on that. I should have pointed out too that everything in this video was obtained in Australia, which can often add to the challenge, but I think I've done pretty well locally.

    The top priced item, at least according to the current listings, is !T.O.O.H.! - Rad a Trest, which is very funny because I got it or $25 just a couple of years ago. I don't believe the guy who currently has it listed at $275 will actually be able to sell it for that, though.
    The next two are both The Chasm (Procession and Spell of Retribution).
    Then there's the clear pressing of The Crypt's Catacomb compilation, which most recently has gone for just under $100.
    After that, I would have to check, but I'm pretty certain that the original press of Obliveon's debut, original press of Coroner - RIP, 2LP clear pressing of Psychotic Waltz's debut, and the Nihilward Productions release of Abigor's Opus IV on 2x10" vinyl. Also the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab version of 'Stained Class'.
    There are some newer releases that sold out in a hurry and spiked in price, such as the Fvneral Fvkk album and the second Inanna, but I don't trust those prices because the moment either gets repressed, they become untenable.

    • @ExplosiveAction
      @ExplosiveAction  6 месяцев назад

      @@warchild9381 probably not. That's a tough question to answer.
