i gave up when i realised i didn't actually like the buzz. ❤ if you want to smoke, grow your own. in this country in asia, tobacco is just cut dried leaf. it's popular and many people smoke but without the same levels of cancer in the West. maybe the tobacco, the vit d in sunlight or...? still best to give up if you can.
Wonderfully said Hitchens, governments have greater responsibilities in making people quitting smoking. If you grow up in a country where no cigarettes are sold, how do you even think of starting the habit?
The government shouldn’t be telling anybody what not to smoke or drink or eat or inject or snort. Bare fucking minimum should be letting people do as they damn well please. If my cousin has a coke problem, or your uncle is an alcoholic, or the neighbors wife takes pills every night then that’s just unfortunate but at the end of the day it’s their choice. YOU have to want to quit. No one’s gonna do it for you
Now whenever I hear the opening lines of Birdhouse in Your Soul by They Might Be Giants, I'm going to think that it's about a cigarette

Chris or Christopher.
Get to know mate.
If you want to stop smoking then work on removing stress from your life, even for just a day or two.
I'm with you Hitch 👍

You should've seen him on whisky!

Well that sounds like a dystopia to me
@@mostafakiani you mean utopia, don't you?

@user-it2ni7ik4t you know the proverb"the road to hell is paved with good intentions" this is exactly what you want
Yeah, so much for personal responsibility.
The first time I’ve heard Hitchens talk nonsense. Stopping smoking is really quite easy when you understand it and know how.
I would just think that an outspoken atheist would be more motivated than anyone to avoid health risks
Why? We know we’re not going anywhere. So in 100 years everything that we’ve done is irrelevant. Better do what you like then.
