Hi arnel!❤ This is a super important question for me please give me an answer 🙏 Can we use the present perfect tense with dynamic verbs to talk about an unfinished action that started in the past and continues into the present? Is that usage the same as using the present perfect continuous tense? Eg:- (1) I have played the piano since i was a child = i have been playing the piano since i was a child ? (2)I have lived in Sri Lanka my whole life = I have been living in Sri Lanka my whole life ? (3)He has taught here since 2020 = He has been teaching here since 2020 ? (4)I have studied English = I have been studying English ?
Most Revered Ma,am, being the greatest grammarian of all time, you are earnestly entreated with folded hands to let me know which of the following sentences is grammatically correct -(He) has visited the place three times in the past (B) He visited the place three times in the past.

In American English, it is perfectly fine to say ''I lost my key. I cannot find it anywhere.'' whereas in British English, it is more appropriate to say ''I have lost my key. I cannot find it anywhere.'' Mind you, I do not think it is that strict anymore since American English keeps infiltrating British English, and this is ever more true due to globalization, which is driven in particular by the worldwide web. In my opinion, talking about experience or an ongoing event with ''since'' and ''for'', the present perfect is still mandatory in both British and American English. A good example of this would be ''I have flown to New York three times.'', or ''I have been in London for two years.'', which implies that I am still in London, or that I still live in this city. Nevertheless, your explanation is excellent, clear and very easy to understand. Hats off! Keep up the good work.🙂👍Joern from Germany
