Arnel, thank you so much for all these videos. You are really, really good. I'm an experienced English teacher and believe me, I've seen a lot of RUclips channels, yours is one of the best. Well explained in a simple way with lots of visuals and examples.
You nailed this lesson Arnel. it's also worth noting that we choose the present perfect simple rather than the continuous to emphasize that something isn't short term: -simple: I've worked her most of my life. (long term) -continuous: I've been working here for just a few days. (short term). we can also choose the continuous to stress that something is repeated: -continuous: I've been using the swimming pool since we moved into this neighborhood. (repeated) -simple: I've used the swimming pool since we moved into this neighborhood. (one or two occasions)

Hi, Arnel! Thank you, very good lesson! It would be nice if you made a lesson about passive! For me, it is a little bit difficult to understand how to use different passive tenses. I've just found your channel. Great content. Arnel, what a beautiful name, it's quite interesting, as is your accent? It doesn't seem to be American, neither does it feel like British RP.
@Arnel: "I've lived in the UK for over 10 years now" that means you are living in the UK now or you no longer live there? In this sentence you have the word "now" so I can't figure out the meaning.
Why the word "prefer" is stative verb? Its do not clear for me. Google translate version: Why is the word "prefer" a verb name? I do not understand this.
"prefer" is about a fact, not about a process. All stative verbs are about facts, and all action verbs are about processes. So "I think" means "I believe" or "I have an opinion" which is a fact and "I'm thinking" means "I'm in a process of thinking (on/about some problem)" which is good too, So as you see some verbs can also be stative and action ones, but their meanings are different in this case. "I think" and "I'm thinking" mean different things. "I prefer" is a fact, "I'm preferring" is "I'm in a process of preferring" which sounds awkward.
