  • still | already | just | yet
    Four adverbs. Four different uses.
    Hi Guys!
Still, already, just and yet are four adverbs that English students can find a bit confusing. These words are very common and it's important to know how to use them.
In this lesson, we'll look at:
    1) the definition
    2) when we use these adverbs
    3) the position in a sentence (very important!)
    4) the difference between American English and British English

🔥COMMON QUESTIONS: Arnel, how do you edit your videos? What software do you use?
I use a combination of these two tools:
For video editing / screen recording
    ✅ techsmith.z6rj...
For images / graphics / stock videos / thumbnails:
    ✅ partner.canva....
(These are both affiliate links. I'll earn a small commission if you make a purchase at no additional cost to you 💜.)
I've used both these tools since day 1. If you go to my very first RUclips videos, you'll see my progression from then until now. You can do it too!
✉️Let me know in the comments or send me a direct Instagram message (arnelseverydayenglish) if you want me to make a video lesson on how I create, edit and design my lessons. If enough people are interested, I'll definitely make one for you guys!

I already know a lot of English, but I'm still working on some grammar. I guess I can already pronounce a great deal of words well, but entonation, liaison, what stuff! I haven't mastered them yet. I've recently bought a book, American Accent Training by Ann Cook. I think it'll be a long journey. But what is amazing is I just got a deep insight into "still, yet already and just" thanks to a smart, detail-oriented teacher, Arnel.

Teacher Arnel! You are great teacher. You teach in very appreciated steps and details. Really I appreciate your explanation. I am following up several media teachers but still I don't face teacher who compares your teaching. Actually I understood many topics. Even though I studied all about I didn't understand those topics but now really I improved my skills. That's why I wrote you this comment and believe that these words are not enough to explain what you are doing but it is my ability english.
    Thank you so much.

Despite I STILL wasn't subscribed to your Channel, by the end of the day, I will ALREADY have done it.
I wanna check your channel out for more I haven't checked it out, YET.
As you will have seen I have tried using all the adverbs you explained in this video lesson, I hope for your comments back if there are any mistake. Thanks!

Good class Mrs Arnel. I'm STILL not feeling ready to write a long essay. But I've ALREADY begun to practice with short notes here on youtube channels. Have you seen my comments YET? You may not remember as you have so many subscribers that keep up with your job. I like to highlight the phrasal verb that I spot in the video, and today I heared you say LOOK OUT FOR. Yes, I always look out for these kind of expressions because they're are too otherworldly for us as english learners and are very used in everyday spoken english. I JUST learned from you some days ago the expression KEEP AN EYE OUT, which is very similar to LOOK OUT FOR.
Thank you and keep it up!!!

What's your take on "barely." I lived in Utah and so many of my coworkers used barely to mean recently. Like "I just barely did that." Or, "I just barely got here." It drove me nuts as I was taught barely means "almost didn't." Like "I barely missed that car." Or, "I barely passed that test."
