Ok, so, I haven’t even finished watching the whole video….a) I like that you aren’t yakking but are still being clear about your actions, via subtitles (yes, leave em up longer!) b) I’m sincerely jealous of your clamp stash…. c) You have a wonderful sense of humor 😂. Now, back to watching the show!
Really great work! Now that I've discovered your channel and your work I look forward to watching you at work again. Just a note for future videos: Leave the subtitles up a few seconds longer. Thanks so much for sharing!
Well that was lovely! I have an old chest of drawers, almost identical in construction, but made of pine. It’s sadly in need of a makeover, so now I know exactly what to do. Perhaps! I wish I had all those clamps!
As a general rule, I'm not a big fan of painted wood furniture - but sometimes there's not much choice and this is not only a good compromise but a very classy one as well. Good "cover-up" choice with the hardware, too. Lubbly jubbly indeed. Kia ora from Aotearoa...
The customer is always right! It looks beautiful, painting covers a multitude of gouges, etc. I have refinished furniture for over 50 years, so I know the drill!
Wow!! I love it. The paint, the stain...its all beautiful. I l9ve how you can see the wood thru the paint...for me, it adds character to the piece. Your customer should be really happy. I love your commentary, you make me laugh. I enjoy your videos.
Gorgeous! I have a dresser that was my Poppy's & I think I'm going to try and refinish/make it over. I think he would be happy that I turned it into something I love while keeping it true to him as well 🥰 You've convinced me paint isn't always a bad thing! 💚💚💚💚💚 (green hearts for Poppy who was a Kawasaki motorcycle dealer)
that’s Paramose water based R10B1 Paint & Varnish remover, I purchase it from Morrells here in the uk, just looked on their website but couldn’t find it to send you a link but if you contact them I’m sure they’ll be able to help. 👍
Loved this. I like the mix of paint and wood. Beautifully restored. Nice to see a brass lock ( sorry. I gave you a hard time about a silver one on a previous restoration 😊) 👍🏻
I think it looks great! Do the people who can't believe you would paint it actually do this or are they just voicing an opinion? Because that wad a lot damage to the sides!
thanks glad you liked it 😀 You can repair and refinish back to original but it’ll never be perfect, that’s sometimes the right route to take, but it will show its age & patina, which can be nice. I’m happy doing both ways, I like people to comment on how they would have done it, whether they agree with my choices or not 👍
Twice wow!❤
Gorgeous
Beautiful! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Fabulous work and beautiful upgrade 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Beautiful 👏🤩

Mahogany is so beautiful. Rich warm color. Great job
Thank you so much!
I turned out beautifully! Mahogany is such a beautiful wood. The minimal paint used didn't take away from that. It looks warm and masculine.
thanks, glad you liked it 😀

For the record the wood around the bottom of a dresser is called the skirt or skirting. Good job on the dresser. It looks lovely.

Just subscribed and liked.... I'm curious to know why you didn't paint the back of the chest...
Glad you liked it 😀 I was working to a budget for this customer so the back wasn’t a priority.
Can you list the products used on by the way a great restoration well done you
I will endeavour to do this in future, was there any specific product you wanted to know? Glad you liked the video, thanks 😀
@GM_Design the varnish remover please.

Why paint all that beautiful veneer?
Loved this. I like the mix of paint and wood. Beautifully restored. Nice to see a brass lock ( sorry. I gave you a hard time about a silver one on a previous restoration 😊) 👍🏻
Thanks 😊
I think I have heard people refer to the split piece as an, “apron” or “base”.
that’s great, thanks 😀
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤it gonna try it myself , here's a sub you deserved it.
Thanks for the sub!
👍❤

It's beautiful. However, I imagine it's going up against a wall, since the back was untouched.
where else would you put it 🙄
I have no idea, but the other furniture restorers whose videos I watch all at least recondition the back of the piece.@@bluemountainsgirl
Stoning
Try to clean the remnants of the old varnish with sawdust - everything ingenious is simple.
Could do without the loud music.
Nice work!
Thanks!
