    Ok, so, I haven’t even finished watching the whole video….a) I like that you aren’t yakking but are still being clear about your actions, via subtitles (yes, leave em up longer!) b) I’m sincerely jealous of your clamp stash…. c) You have a wonderful sense of humor 😂.     I turned out beautifully! Mahogany is such a beautiful wood. The minimal paint used didn't take away from that. It looks warm and masculine.

    Well that was lovely! I have an old chest of drawers, almost identical in construction, but made of pine. It’s sadly in need of a makeover, so now I know exactly what to do. Perhaps! I wish I had all those clamps!

    As a general rule, I'm not a big fan of painted wood furniture - but sometimes there's not much choice and this is not only a good compromise but a very classy one as well. Good "cover-up" choice with the hardware, too. Lubbly jubbly indeed. Kia ora from Aotearoa...

    For the record the wood around the bottom of a dresser is called the skirt or skirting. Good job on the dresser. It looks lovely.

    The customer is always right! It looks beautiful, painting covers a multitude of gouges, etc. I have refinished furniture for over 50 years, so I know the drill!

    Gorgeous! I have a dresser that was my Poppy's & I think I'm going to try and refinish/make it over.       that’s Paramose water based R10B1 Paint & Varnish remover, I purchase it from Morrells here in the uk, just looked on their website but couldn’t find it to send you a link but if you contact them I’m sure they’ll be able to help. 👍

    I think it looks great! Do the people who can't believe you would paint it actually do this or are they just voicing an opinion? Because that wad a lot damage to the sides!

      thanks glad you liked it 😀 You can repair and refinish back to original but it’ll never be perfect, that’s sometimes the right route to take, but it will show its age & patina, which can be nice. I’m happy doing both ways, I like people to comment on how they would have done it, whether they agree with my choices or not 👍
