1. There is a lot of discussion about Indians competing with China. China is no benchmark for happiness. They have their own issues.
2. "India needs to beat China" is the reason given by lot of top people to drive their own agenda
3. We need to realize that Competition should be with oneself only. Competing with others will only give you undue stress and make life miserable
4. We as Indians need to focus on sustainable growth, rather than trying to look for sudden growth and competing with China

My opinion is competition is good. US became no.1 due to competition with USSR. We should just not take rushed decisions. China is one party sustem so their decisions will be quick than us. But we can enjoy our freedom in long term.

Having been to China, We cant compete against them in Manufacturing... but we can manufacture our own..and be self sufficient..
Also trade deficit with China is there because we import many critical goods like bulk chemicals needed for pharma companies in india/ other chemicals/ Semi conductors and refined precious metals...
These imports are necessary because it helps the country function

I cannot agree with you .... China is using it economic policy for muscle flexing. The only reason it is not coming to us haunting is our robust defense and thrust for economic expansion.
