Perfect and practical ideology. I spent more than 13 years in IT working very hard and not a single manager respected. I felt servitude and neglected! Now I have normalized my views, work practically and expect nothing. Now I'm not complaining and am content. Even with all the harassment I never left grooming myself. Now I have become a product and much sought after. Advise is to keep learning and grooming and become indispensable. You should change when managers don't suite you - "In corporate none are friends and none are foes". So move on for a more pleasant environment...

Narayan Murthy should ask his daughter to dump all shares to Govt of India for nation building and should join infosys to work 70hrs/week for 3.5 LPA. Then only he will understand the current employee's pain.

With such tyrants all we can get is creatures as employees and not human beings who have sense and feelings...6 days of 12 hour work?? How tone deaf these so called leaders are! Sir, I am a medical professional.I worked for corporates hospitals where there is no limit to work hours and no overtime. If you complaint, they will immediately point out that there are ten applicants waiting for jobs. I worked till my 40s. It damaged my family life , my health. Ultimately I gave up everything, now I work on only 6 months a year. To hell with loyalty.
I am a 32 years old woman. I feel like virtually touching Mr. Sango's feet for giving such a clarity for youth. I have worked in IT companies for past 10 years and found it impossible to manage all the other roles in my life. Our lives dont matter to them we are just a mere resouce to them and can ne replaced within few days. SO dont ever try to give more than you can . I tried asking for sabatical leaves and flexible working policies due to my personal reasons but HR and the higher management almost laughed on that ! All these are just name sake and only on paper. Its high time we value our lives and personal spaces. I finally quit my job and working for my own. Finally found my ✌️ peace.

Bro, problem is not with hours, these greedy dogs don't even pay enough. Look at Infosys, they still pay the same amount of money to the freshers BE/BTech which they used to pay back in 2011. I am also working in a Service based IT company, daily we work 9.5 hrs and work culture is toxic with no boundaries. If something breaks or some work comes up I have to login even off working hours, we even have on calls on Weekends. Anyways an IT service based employee works at least 10-12 hrs daily. Murty wants 70 hrs work, fine I will do it. Will he pay the salary for 70 hrs ? People make 25-30 K for 8 hrs work, will he pay 45-50 K to fresher for 12 hrs work ? NO. Then don't ask us to work 70 hrs for same 25-30 K peanuts.

Outstanding video. It's like you read my mind. I was in IT and I resigned due to extreme pressure which started affecting my health. It was a reality check. I realised time is priceless. Once gone forever gone. I felt if I give them all my time then l have no time to give my parents, friends, to read good books, to plan my investment, to my health, exercise. I was growing weaker and weaker due to lack of self care. No wonder young people are getting heart attacks. What is the use of all the money for which we work if we are not alive, if we don't take vacations with our loved ones. Indian IT is the worst. It's modern day slavery. Earlier Indians were ruled by British, now by these US and UK based IT companies. It's high time the govt wakes up and takes some serious measures to implement labour laws and protection for the middle class working employees. I will not want my children to work in IT ever. It is not worth our life or our precious time which we often undervalue. We are mortals on this earth for a limited time and it's up to us where we invest that time. Simple living, high thinking should be the life mantra. May the country wake up. Be your own boss ☺️.
Infosys has the worst pay in the industry especially for freshers..ppl who are "loyal" to them r punished. I have worked for Infosys TCS JP Morgan tech Mahindra HP they all suck that's why I know the reality. U r absolutely right. Ppl r working for them waiting to be posted onshore US, Uk😂😂 for 2 yrs. If u ll work 70 hrs when will u meditate, the most important part of life. He shud give this advice to his son in law coz he can make a difference as a head of state.

I have been living in the UK for over 10 years now. I can say that no American, British, Chinese, Japanese, German or Russian works thinking that they have to contribute in their country's development. Instead like every Indian, they all do their duties according to the mutually agreed job description. It's only in North Korea where a person like Narayan Murthy dictates terms and people do forced labour. Now, there is a Narayan Murthy in every company's board meeting. Who people forget once they come out of the room, so generally such fools aren't taken seriously. But problems arise when such fools open their mouth in public, thinking that the world is their boardroom and everyone here is a yesman.
I am a software engineer based out of Bengaluru. From my experience, I have understood that just 4 hours of uninterrupted work per day is enough to be extremely successful in your career. I am not even exaggerating. Most of the office time is wasted on travel to and from the office, lunch, and coffee breaks, and useless calls. Majority of Indians don't know what real fun and happiness is.

Love each and every statement of yours. I started as Graduate Trainee of Tata Steel after Engineering. I was not associating myself with any company and kept on moving. Today I live in Switzerland and have got 3 hotels in Berner Oberland. Perhaps the 4th one is on the way as I signed the LOI today. Dream of having something of your own or learn to invest in stock market if you cannot get out of job. It is stupid to work 70 hours for anyone.

I always hear that working hours are 9-5, or 10-6, but never in my life I have seen someone packing up at these respective time, these capitalists overcapitalised everything. Another thing, when I was pursuing graduation, I needed a part time job to meet my expenses. That time I have worked under a CA from Chennai Mr. Shastri, as an Auditor. Believe me when I say that the work culture of the South India(at least what I have experienced) is way way way better than the rest. Even in times of corporate pressure, my senior never forced us to anything "unethical." Their way of talking, understanding, etc are very hospitable.
Please ask him, why inspite of having enormous pool of IT professionals and having almost monopoly in IT sector for 30 years Why Facebook, google and other products were not invented in India ? It is because of this mazdoor attitude this guy's generation had. Why Japan has the highest suicide rate ? Almost everyone works more than agreed 8 hrs, When will IT companies start paying overtime or flex leaves for the extra hours they are already putting in? How is US, Germany, Australia and France are progressing and have national pride with normal work hours? They are now adopting 4 day week. And for once, if you are so concerned about national pride, please if you any balls, please say that to Indian center and state Government employees. Please I dare you, if you are not a hypocrite try saying that once.
I remember my articleship my principal was a dictator and wouldn’t let us leave till 8 pm most days, I would leave home at 8 am and reach home by 8-10 pm. I aspire to never work in CA firm even if I become jobless after being a CA. But to be fair, job in accounting and finance are always hectic even in corporate. Now it’s too late to choose any other career.

True sir ,when it comes to paying wages per hour ,companies will never put such any comment . We will work 90 hrs if Murthy ji can pay 25 us dollar per hour . It's jus a narrative in the name of which work force is being guided. Happiness index we stand at 126 . We must understand that it's give n take . Sir, you have told very excellent things. And I also agree with that. The condition of IT sectors was already bad, the problem lies with the people working in the unorganized sector. They were already working 10-12 hours, on top of that they used to do overtime, the workers who went inside the company cannot go out before 10-12 hours, a security guard is kept outside to ensure that security. The situation of the guard is worse because he has to work the whole week and does not get a single day off. It is very sad. The overall thing is that they just want to keep us as slaves forever.
You are 100 percent right ,my company driver used to tell me 5 -6 years back that he was earning 1 lakh per month or more. He was working for 16-18 hrs and driving for company employees pickup and drop ,plus Ola uber bookings plus shadi bookings on weekends and holidays etc. Many times he used to tell me that he sleeps in his car itself if he do not get enough time. Anyone can work for long hours if the incentive is enough... If it's owned and if it builds something for future. Why should we work for 70 hours for someone else where is no incentive no security and no ownership.
70 hr a week is ok if people are paid per hour rate calculated basis of 40 hr/week. People like narayan murthy will see many working 80hrs a week as well.

Salaries were raised mainly by start ups and product companies. Indian IT companies didn't raise salaries also. Even though maximum work hours have been extracted from employees.

Maan Gaye aap ko. I have worked in govt petroleum company for 5 years- BPCL . Worked culture is just sucking. Everyday 12 hrs, Sunday too working. Those fools used to take pride in that. I from deep of heart knew that it's the shittiest thing possible to spoil one life. Some from fear of transfer and promotion continue. Some sacrifice because of their family and are forced to stay.l and oblige. Sad but true. I resented had a fight with boss over the culture and even wrote to higher authorities. But things seldom change. Middle management is just shit not only in private but also govt. Some don't want but has to do. Some just make this a habit and vent out the same culture and frustration to juniors . Sad but true

Sir, What I understood from my personal experience is that , we should never idolise or follow anyone , however successful or inspiring he or she is, because everyone has a different family condition, environment , different age, different time period , different place, different support level etc, etc. Everyone must try for a certain/reasonable period of time, if results or signs of positive improvement are not becoming visible , just drop the efforts and move on to different line/direction . No point in spending your time , money , energy by holding on to the False Belief being fed to us from School, College & Corporate Bosses that “ If he can do , so can you … and if you don’t do, then you are a failure”.

Perfect and practical ideology. I spent more than 13 years in IT working very hard and not a single manager respected. I felt servitude and neglected! Now I have normalized my views, work practically and expect nothing. Now I'm not complaining and am content. Even with all the harassment I never left grooming myself. Now I have become a product and much sought after. Advise is to keep learning and grooming and become indispensable. You should change when managers don't suite you - "In corporate none are friends and none are foes". So move on for a more pleasant environment...

Sir, I am a medical professional.I worked for corporates hospitals where there is no limit to work hours and no overtime. If you complaint, they will immediately point out that there are ten applicants waiting for jobs. I worked till my 40s. It damaged my family life , my health. Ultimately I gave up everything, now I work on only 6 months a year. To hell with loyalty.
I am a 32 years old woman. I feel like virtually touching Mr. Sango's feet for giving such a clarity for youth. I have worked in IT companies for past 10 years and found it impossible to manage all the other roles in my life. Our lives dont matter to them we are just a mere resouce to them and can ne replaced within few days. SO dont ever try to give more than you can . I tried asking for sabatical leaves and flexible working policies due to my personal reasons but HR and the higher management almost laughed on that ! All these are just name sake and only on paper. Its high time we value our lives and personal spaces. I finally quit my job and working for my own. Finally found my ✌️ peace.

Bro, problem is not with hours, these greedy dogs don't even pay enough. Look at Infosys, they still pay the same amount of money to the freshers BE/BTech which they used to pay back in 2011. I am also working in a Service based IT company, daily we work 9.5 hrs and work culture is toxic with no boundaries. If something breaks or some work comes up I have to login even off working hours, we even have on calls on Weekends. Anyways an IT service based employee works at least 10-12 hrs daily. Murty wants 70 hrs work, fine I will do it. Will he pay the salary for 70 hrs ? People make 25-30 K for 8 hrs work, will he pay 45-50 K to fresher for 12 hrs work ? NO. Then don't ask us to work 70 hrs for same 25-30 K peanuts.

Outstanding video. It's like you read my mind. I was in IT and I resigned due to extreme pressure which started affecting my health. It was a reality check. I realised time is priceless. Once gone forever gone. I felt if I give them all my time then l have no time to give my parents, friends, to read good books, to plan my investment, to my health, exercise. I was growing weaker and weaker due to lack of self care. No wonder young people are getting heart attacks. What is the use of all the money for which we work if we are not alive, if we don't take vacations with our loved ones. Indian IT is the worst. It's modern day slavery. Earlier Indians were ruled by British, now by these US and UK based IT companies. It's high time the govt wakes up and takes some serious measures to implement labour laws and protection for the middle class working employees. I will not want my children to work in IT ever. It is not worth our life or our precious time which we often undervalue. We are mortals on this earth for a limited time and it's up to us where we invest that time. Simple living, high thinking should be the life mantra. May the country wake up. Be your own boss ☺️.

I have been living in the UK for over 10 years now. I can say that no American, British, Chinese, Japanese, German or Russian works thinking that they have to contribute in their country's development. Instead like every Indian, they all do their duties according to the mutually agreed job description. It's only in North Korea where a person like Narayan Murthy dictates terms and people do forced labour.
Now, there is a Narayan Murthy in every company's board meeting. Who people forget once they come out of the room, so generally such fools aren't taken seriously.

I am a software engineer based out of Bengaluru. From my experience, I have understood that just 4 hours of uninterrupted work per day is enough to be extremely successful in your career. I am not even exaggerating. Most of the office time is wasted on travel to and from the office, lunch, and coffee breaks, and useless calls. Majority of Indians don't know what real fun and happiness is.

Another thing, when I was pursuing graduation, I needed a part time job to meet my expenses. That time I have worked under a CA from Chennai Mr. Shastri, as an Auditor.
Believe me when I say that the work culture of the South India(at least what I have experienced) is way way way better than the rest.
Even in times of corporate pressure, my senior never forced us to anything "unethical." Their way of talking, understanding, etc are very hospitable.

Sir, you have told very excellent things. And I also agree with that. The condition of IT sectors was already bad, the problem lies with the people working in the unorganized sector. They were already working 10-12 hours, on top of that they used to do overtime, the workers who went inside the company cannot go out before 10-12 hours, a security guard is kept outside to ensure that security. The situation of the guard is worse because he has to work the whole week and does not get a single day off. It is very sad. The overall thing is that they just want to keep us as slaves forever.

You are 100 percent right ,my company driver used to tell me 5 -6 years back that he was earning 1 lakh per month or more.
He was working for 16-18 hrs and driving for company employees pickup and drop ,plus Ola uber bookings plus shadi bookings on weekends and holidays etc.
Many times he used to tell me that he sleeps in his car itself if he do not get enough time.

Salaries were raised mainly by start ups and product companies. Indian IT companies didn't raise salaries also. Even though maximum work hours have been extracted from employees.

I have worked in govt petroleum company for 5 years- BPCL . Worked culture is just sucking. Everyday 12 hrs, Sunday too working. Those fools used to take pride in that. I from deep of heart knew that it's the shittiest thing possible to spoil one life. Some from fear of transfer and promotion continue. Some sacrifice because of their family and are forced to stay.l and oblige. Sad but true.
I resented had a fight with boss over the culture and even wrote to higher authorities. But things seldom change.
Middle management is just shit not only in private but also govt. Some don't want but has to do. Some just make this a habit and vent out the same culture and frustration to juniors . Sad but true

Sir, What I understood from my personal experience is that , we should never idolise or follow anyone , however successful or inspiring he or she is, because everyone has a different family condition, environment , different age, different time period , different place, different support level etc, etc. Everyone must try for a certain/reasonable period of time, if results or signs of positive improvement are not becoming visible , just drop the efforts and move on to different line/direction . No point in spending your time , money , energy by holding on to the False Belief being fed to us from School, College & Corporate Bosses that “ If he can do , so can you … and if you don’t do, then you are a failure”.

MNCs r closed on SATs but what about other Pvt Orgzns in India. Get no other benefits. Employees working in Pvt Organization are the real slaves in India, but without a chain on their neck. A Riksha puller have bargaining capacity, if he asks to 10 customers at least 2-3 customers shall pay some money extra. All Govts kept silence since independence and exploitation continuous beyond law. Govts. think the cost of living effective to Govt. Employees and conveniently forget employees in Pvt. Sector.

Absolutely right. 70 Hrs for 6 days means 11 1/2 Hrs per day. Its absolute rubbish. Let all people be given additional OT for staff at all levels other than directors, then will see that all will be working the whole day
