  • If you have an upcoming trip, you may want to begin your documenting before you leave. Have you ever added photographs to your journaling or sketchbooks? I've never done that before, and I decided to bring all the prep for this Italy trip together in one place. Now that is possible; let me show you what I did!
Excuse my rough look, no makeup and most of my hair was wet and pulled back. I needed to make a video more than I needed to LOOK presentable. Today was my catchup day, pamper myself day before I left. My goal was to still have a video every week even when I'm not in the country.
Hope you all enjoy some of this. I so appreciate those of you who have subscribed.

You got me at, “I’m going to show you something I’ve never done before.” My husband is just like your Brad. So supportive. Like the idea that Michelle had with the zoom videos! Practicing and experimenting beforehand really paid off!

@@kstutz230 Yes, it did! Practicing and preparing allowed me to really relax and enjoy the process. Also taking less choices for materials sped up the process because I had fewer choices.

I did a similar thing for my last 2 holidays and I love it! Giving yourself “permission” to glue in photos takes away some of the pressure of feeling you need to draw everything that catches your eye! I also like to draw maps, especially if I’ve been for a long walk. The combination of writing, sketching, maps and photos is so good for remembering your holiday! Hope you are having/have had a great time. Can’t wait to see the end result!

@@madebylora I am now in the Rome airport waiting for my return flight. I am THRILLED with the process I chose and have memories for a lifetime! The maps are a good idea, thank you! I had an amazing time.

With your mini pallets, did you paint the inside cover ...I'm trying to make some mini pallets like yours. What watercolors do you use in your mini pallets?

@@ralphherrick596 No, the inside cover was decorated cut paper glued in. The colors are listed in another video, I'll try to find it. I just got home yesterday and am still trying to catch up on things.
