Just got one lately and have been drawing more than ever, it's just easy to grab and start doing something even your head is totally empty. They do have a white version of the paper, it has a straw colour cover and I think pink or yellow ribbon
Yes, I agree there is something very cosy and accessible about them. Thanks for letting us know about the white paper version! I'll have to keep an eye out for those.
It’s refreshing to see someone use their sketchbook to think things out and try new things. I see too many perfect sketchbooks and it’s deterring. I’ve tried to do perfection and it makes me walk away from my sketchbook. Thank you for the assurance that it’s ok to have unfinished work. 😊 Beautiful work by the way-I am now a subscriber!
Happy to be of service! 😁 I wish I had a pretty sketchbook to show but every day is not a good drawing day. But that's fine. My hope is that more people let themselves take a crack at drawing without the pressure of a pretty picture. Thanks for all the kind words and the sub! 💛
I love your sketchbooks! Most sketchbooks videos on YT are like flipping through a perfect artbook and it always make me feel bad about my sketchbooks. But sketchbooks are for experimenting and having fun with different material and trying out colours. And sometimes it looks a bit messy or incomplete.
I understand that some people make their final pieces in their sketchbooks. But I agree, get as wacky as you want in there! 😜 It's more fun that way! 💛
I’ve been using those sketchbooks on and off in the past years and I’m so happy they get a little bit of a hype right now. I started art college in October and almost everyone in my class started using them because they are affordable and the local art shop sells them, it’s so cute to see everyone with different colored sketchbooks running around haha. Also, your art is so beautiful and colorful! Great video!
My go to had been moleskine until I tried the Arts Creations. I've been almost exclusively using them in all formats for 2,5 years now. They absolutely stole my heart. I also work in all mediums except alcohol markers with a focus on watercolours. Chalk pastels, as you didn't mention them, work really well for me in the sketchbook, too🥰
I am sorely missing this large format now that I've finished it! I didn't expect to like a smooth paper so much. But I think I'll be ordering another. 😉 Thanks for the tip! 🙌
Looved this video! I have a couple of those sketchbooks and I do enjoy them a lot, paper texture and color wise, have done only watercolor, ink, color pencil and more recently markers also new to this medium hehe, your sketchbooks looks incredible even when you keep them more loose and free, I loved this video!
I wish I could like this multiple times- such wonderful art in your sketchbooks! I love that you view it as a playground, but wow your art is sooo inspiring!!! I’ll be coming back to this video whenever I have art block. Thanks for sharing!! 💕
I ❤ these! Your art work is beautiful and so varied. These sketchbooks are ideal for so many different media. I draw with graphite and coloured pencils, as well as Neocolor II and a bit of gouache. Plus, they are not so expensive so I am not afraid of messing up or using many pages to explore ideas. These are perfect for that. Thanks for your sketchbook tour!
Turns out I bought three of these off of the clearance rack at Michaels last Autumn. I'll start using them one day, after I finish trashing my current Piccadilly sketchbook from Walmart. It has all my amatuer ink scratches.
@@warmyellowshade I did start using one of these sketchbooks for watercolor. The pages buckle, but I got the pages pretty wet, so I'd say they are acceptable sketchbooks.
I have it and love it. I did a 100 heads challenge in one of those. Loved it. I have one for my “ugly” sketchbook, and it is a place to experiment. Affordable price makes it feel less wastefull, more comfortable.
i’m not really looking for a sketchbook but i enjoyed flipping through your sketchbook pages so much ❤ your style is so different from what i usually see on my feed. beautiful work 😊
These do come in white paper, but it seems to be in Europe because I ordered mine from Artemiranda in Spain, and in only specific formats. Your drawings are cute and inspiring. Keep creating 💛💜💙
Good to know! I just checked the Jackson'sart website and they do carry the white paper. Hopefully it makes it over to North America soon! Thank you and I will! ☺🙌
I didn't know they could handle watercolor so well. While I do occasionally use them, I have only started to experiment using water based markers and colored pencils. I like them, but I don't like how they make squeaky sounds whenever I draw with an H mechanical pencil. Ps: while the majority of the Talens sketchbooks have cream paper, there is a line where they feature prints of the old masters on the cover that has pure white paper.
At the beginning, it's a little strange to paint with watercolour on such a smooth surface. But the paper gets "rougher" as you go. It's not watercolour paper of course, but yes I was surprised at how well it tolerated the layering! I don't use hard pencils but I can imagine squeaks can get a bit annoying! 😊 I haven't seen those around! I suppose they haven't made it to North America yet. But very cool. Thanks for letting us know! 💛

If you are planning to mostly use watercolour then I would stick to a watercolor sketchbook. It’ll be much more enjoyable to paint on thicker paper! You can paint in this sketchbook but it is limiting and you will have considerable paper warping. I would recommend a watercolour sketchbook instead! I hope that helps! 😊🎨
@@warmyellowshade oh I see. Thank you so much to your honest suggestion. I think should uae this as my mix media sketch book. not my main, since I have oil pastel also. :)

Hi! Thank you for ur review!
May i ask whether posca bleed through this one??
I mostly used it on top of gouache, and it didn't when used that way. I think it could possibly bleed if you use it really heavy. I hope that helps! 😉
