P.S. No, Vilk won’t be vegetarian 😆 He’ll spend most of his time outdoors like his mommy (normally I only drive for 2h a day or less). And he isn’t a shelter baby, true, because with my lifestyle, and given how many people I meet, I want to make sure he’s trained to be safe around people and other animals from the get go. Okay that’s all 😉

My dogs came from the streets. They were the best, finest, most perfect mannered, beautiful (big) dogs. I was so proud of them, I could take them anywhere. Shelter dogs, strays and the abandoned make fine companions. My dogs are now deceased. I miss them so very much, life is not the same without them, my dogs that came from nothing, and gave me everything. RIP my beautiful ones.

Dog trainer here: A working line shep!! 😅 you’re insane in the best way, that’s starting dog ownership at level hard- but totally doable if you commit! you’re doing everything right, a friendly breeder, lots of treats, slow introduction to new things. Your car safety needs some work- currently if you crash he will get crushed by the passenger airbag if there is one, and if not he’ll swing to the side like on a pendulum (because the seatbelt attachment is to the side) and slam into either the dashboard or into you, super dangerous for both of you. I recommend either a crash tested crate like Gunner, or crash tested harness like sleepypod, with the seatbelt threaded through so he will not go flying and ofc turn off the passenger airbag and move the seat as far back as possible.
I’m really curious to see the changes to the car. Overheating seems to be the biggest challenge. Tip: dog show people know how to keep cars cold. They often have to keep their dogs comfy in hot weather for hours. Vent locks and misting ryobi fans help-they also have their own battery packs so you can have a backup in case your main electrical is out during a hot day.
Good luck. When picking a trainer remember that it is not a regulated industry, and lots of very outdated methods still prevail, which would even be illegal in Europe. Check out Fenzi dog sport academy, lots of accredited trainers doing online courses for working and sport dogs. Kikopup on RUclips is also phenomenal.
I’m so happy for you, this is going to be such an experience. Can’t wait to follow along. Sorry for the unsolicited advice, I could not resist!

hope she fix the seatbelt thing. Actually....... if i was the breeder, i would not allow her to leave with that. Really dangerous for her and him (not only in car crash, but if he see something on her side of the window, he can jump and cause an accident.)

I needed this. Yesterday I lost my cat after she lived a long 18 years; she was the only pet I've ever had. I've had close friends and relatives die from various reason, but never have I grieved so viscerally and profoundly in my entire life. She saw me progress from boyhood into manhood, and in many ways she knew me better than anyone else on earth, with the exception of my parents. Today I see life as more precious than i saw it previously, and I'm so glad that I can cherish the experiences i had tog her, because i would have never believed that a creature could be so gentle and loving while wanting absolutely nothing in return but love. I would've been much more apathetic towards life in general, and especially towards animals. We are blessed to have those furry friends we call our pets. RIP Toby, may she always remember who loved her.

German Shepards are amazing dogs, very one person types of dog’s. They like their person and that’s who they follow and listen too. They are very vocal and will cry lot when you first get them. My GSD loved his crate, it was the only thing that stopped him from crying when I first got him. He’s 10 now and still a big baby, but extremely loyal and loving of his family.

Eva! I have a working line German Shepard! The most loyal dog you could ever ask for! My family struggled initially when he was a puppy with biting (not the mean kind, but it still hurt). We took him to a training camp for 3 weeks to help with his behaviors and it did. I am telling you this, because there were times we worried that we took on more than we could handle. However, we hung in there and I am so gald we did. I cannot describe to you how much joy he brings me everyday. It is inherent in him to protect our family. Throughout the day he surveys the yard, looks out the windows and comes to check in on the humans that are home. Ocasionally, he growls at visitors, but quickly becomes friendly when he sees that we approve of them. I could not be happier for you!

Got a German Shepard when I was 15 from the liter of one of my best friends' dogs. So strange though, half of the puppies looked like Cooker Spaniels and the other half like German Shepards. That was the first time I became aware that a female could conceive from two males at once. He was a great dog and grew to be about 120 pounds. A big guy. Very lovable though and loving. Thanks for the video. Chuck.

I have dogs myself and I have and uneasy feeling about this. Life on the road it not necessarily in the interests of this puppy. Plus when it comes time to go back to Poland what then weeks in a crate and no company. Not sure I could do that to a dog. What about shopping for instance what will you do there? Options leave it in a potentially hot car, leave it outside the shop for someone to steal, neither are good options. I would be very interested to hear your plan for this Eva.

    @breseler Год назад +15

Hmmm, am I the only one to think this is a bad idea?...
I have trained and owned GSDs, Belgian Shepherds and Labradors for over 40 years. You have a lot of work ahead to ensure a stable well trained companion...
You need to get a crate/transit kennel to keep the dog secure when you are driving and also to provide him with his own safe quiet space - also a lot easier to clean up after he is sick or worse!
Adapt the front seat to allow the crate to fit securely if necessary, but don't use a harness/seat belt connector for a puppy...
You're going to be alone in remote locations where you may have to render first aid to the dog - take a course in animal first aid - accidents happen all the time and no matter how careful you are, one second can find you in an emergency. Also a good reason to have a crate so you can know the dog isn't going to eat something or get bitten/stung while your attention is elsewhere.
You were on 'edge' with your vehicle getting shipped overseas - what will you be like when he has to endure being stuck in an aircraft hold for 12 hours and being quarantined for x weeks when you continue your world travels?

You'll have to adapt to his rythmes a little: each time he wakes up he'll need to go toilet (remember if he has an accident it's your fault). I would consider getting a small cage for him to sleep in and to keep him safe whilst travelling. It'll come in very handy if you need to leave him whilst you go in a shop or whatever and avoid destruction of the contents of your land rover.

A GSD in a cage is like a gun without bullets she specifically said he's for protection. I've been a handler for 25 years never crated my dogs and they have never destroyed anything its all a matter of training.

Totally with you Christelle. What people who disagree have to understand, is that raising and training a puppy "on the road" is a lot different than a conventional upbringing for them. Btw I'm hoping that the face licking isn't encouraged once he gets older. So looking forward to their fun and adventures together.

@@thestumaji656 Wakey wakey William! What you say she said and what she means overall differ. Eva is firstly looking for companionship, with protection when the dog is big enough and old enough to be capable of that. Until then the dog is a slight liability as he matures and learns the ropes. Your analogy of "like a gun without bullets" paints a picture of your mindset. Incidentally your 25years experience means zilch. A hell of a lot of dogs are raised wrong. Me? I'm 68 and have had working dogs and pet dogs in teams and as singles most of my life. And yes - l do know what I'm talking about. Eva will learn and negative tips do more harm than good.

@@monkeydluffypvp I'm vegan/wegetarian (i have weakness to real cheese sometimes, but most times i'm vegan). I also - to be honest - not judging people buying dogs - not always it is possible to adopt from shelter - and sometimes buying is better option (like in Eva's case, when she need a puppy who will better adapt and not have some hidden trauma). The only thing i don't support or understand is breed - why so big dog, who need so much walks, training, discipline and space in such small car. Hope it is a well-thought decision.
