“mmmwoof!” Says Vilk 😆🐺 Thanks for all your lovely messages. Yes, my life will change, and especially over the next few months, I’ll “travel” in a very different way. I’ll be sharing my puppy journey with you in the coming episodes!
P.S. No, Vilk won’t be vegetarian 😆 He’ll spend most of his time outdoors like his mommy (normally I only drive for 2h a day or less). And he isn’t a shelter baby, true, because with my lifestyle, and given how many people I meet, I want to make sure he’s trained to be safe around people and other animals from the get go. Okay that’s all 😉
Congratulations on your beautiful puppy! 🎉❤ I’ve wanted a dog all my life and in February last year I finally got my puppy. Best decision I’ve ever made, she’s the best companion I could wish for. She’s already travelled a lot with us and her favorite time was travelling in a camper van! Curious to see your journey together 😊
Looking forward to Adventure with this puppy 🐶 love German Shepherd there so Smart he will keep you safe on your journey.....until next time...safe travels ✌👊👋🦮..

Sorry for loss buddy, my 2 cats are nearly 16 right now and I’m dreading the day they go, I relate so much to your comment and I hope you have some great memories of your cat and maybe some memorabilia to remember her by!
yes, i sended the bots so you will see this comment, cant handle seeing working dog breeds not getting the right attention and exercise, breaks my heart
December 5th of 2008 I brought home this 6lb ball of fluff, a black and tan German Shepherd, He and I traveled to 44 states, 3 Canadian provinces and Mexico to the tune of 1.8 million miles. We sailed oceans, explored the mountains, and had so many adventures together along the way. Back in March I lost him to Bone Cancer, he was the best friend a guy could ask for. You are going to make so many happy memories with this pup, German Shepherds are amazing dogs, The puppy stage is hard and takes a lot of effort, but when you put in the time, you are rewarded with good solid dogs. Vilk looks like a well bred dog, seems strong healthy alert and smart. I suspect he is going to endlessly pick up on things that it will surprise you how much he understands.
German Shepards are amazing dogs, very one person types of dog’s. They like their person and that’s who they follow and listen too. They are very vocal and will cry lot when you first get them. My GSD loved his crate, it was the only thing that stopped him from crying when I first got him. He’s 10 now and still a big baby, but extremely loyal and loving of his family.
My wife and I are "empty nesters", both sons are out and doing well on their own. We adopted a greyhound mix, Sophie, she has enriched our lives so much. We are so fortunate to have her, and our friends tell us that she is fortunate to have us as her human parents. Through Eva's videos, we've watch Vilk grow up to be a 100 LBs companion and protector for Eva. What a joy to see :)
found my dog varner at the dump in palm springs. he looked just like vilk but was also part coyote. he was already about a year old. a girl found him wandering out in the desert on a lonely road. varner road. she saw me at the dump and knew i already used to bring my german shep with me and asked me if i wanted it. she let it out of her truck and it ran over to me and we were best buds for the next 10 or 12 years. we camped across the u.s., made some friends, and ended up living in a beautiful place where he could feel free. that was about 40 years ago. your video touched me. dogs are so wonderful
Congratulations! Make sure Vilk gets acclimated to often meeting new people! It will be especially important for a traveler like yourself that he becomes comfortable with meeting strangers. Scope out where there are dog parks and be sure he spends plenty of time with other dogs and dog owners as you travel so that Vilk gets well socialized! And again, Congratulations!
A good dog owner knows that an animal is a huge responsible, when you said your life is getting ready to change forever it was obvious you are going to be a great dog mom!
So Happy for both you and your dog. Have had five furry dog friends in my 71 years of life. They have always been loyal, trustworthy, loving beyond expectation, and even once saved my life. They are a God given gift, and I know your puppy is so very lucky to have you!
I grew up with a German shepherd (my best friend ❤️), I’m subscribed to German shepherd channels on RUclips, I can’t believe that one of my favorite channels will now feature my favorite dog 😍😍😍😍😍🎉🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations, Eva! So-so-so happy for you 🥳🥰😍❤️❤️❤️
@@vintageradioman Exposing them to all types of different stimuli at an early age will help them grow into stable adults. However, it does require a lot of encouragement, rubs, treats, etc. while doing so.
@@vintageradioman He looked very comfortable by the end of the video. He was just growing accustomed to something new. Humans get nervous too sometimes, it's okay.
This was exactly why I am building a truck camper. To take my golden retriever that is almost 6 months old. This will be such a special bonding time. I'm so happy for you, Eva!
I'm an over the road truck driver and my co-driver is dog. He is extremely happy in the truck. He does believe his job sitting in the passenger seat looking out the window. All the truck dogs I have seen are very happy and well adjusted. Anyway I'm just trying to say is now you guys are a team! A pack of 2. Good luck out there.
Dogs are sensitive, smart, perceptive, emotional beings. Their personalities, by the time they become adults, are as unique as any human's (one can't really be replaced by another). I'm glad one has found a home with you.
Got a German Shepard when I was 15 from the liter of one of my best friends' dogs. So strange though, half of the puppies looked like Cooker Spaniels and the other half like German Shepards. That was the first time I became aware that a female could conceive from two males at once. He was a great dog and grew to be about 120 pounds. A big guy. Very lovable though and loving. Thanks for the video. Chuck.
Eva! I have a working line German Shepard! The most loyal dog you could ever ask for! My family struggled initially when he was a puppy with biting (not the mean kind, but it still hurt). We took him to a training camp for 3 weeks to help with his behaviors and it did. I am telling you this, because there were times we worried that we took on more than we could handle. However, we hung in there and I am so gald we did. I cannot describe to you how much joy he brings me everyday. It is inherent in him to protect our family. Throughout the day he surveys the yard, looks out the windows and comes to check in on the humans that are home. Ocasionally, he growls at visitors, but quickly becomes friendly when he sees that we approve of them. I could not be happier for you!
Yeah the biting and chewing everything cost me a few good wooden dining chairs. Having a toy like a kong or wubba helped. Those things are darn near indestructible to a GSD razor puppy teeth.
What a wonderful life - for the puppy and for you! Wonderful Shepherds! great conformation! Take it from an old man. The one main thing that this dog will need is--- A JOB! It may be finding things that you have hidden, or carrying your groceries or anything you can come up with, but don't let this wonderful dog get bored.
Absolutely Precious !! He’s soo cute and he’s going to be great company for you whilst on your travel adventures plus more. I adore animals too. They’re a precious gift for us to take care of and to love them. Their love is unconditional which is how it should be in this world . Take care with warm hugs for you both 🙏❤️🙏
I found you young one! Good choice on the pup! He will protect you. Seeing you together makes me miss my German Shepard Jerry as he was my best friend for so many years. I'm crying now!
Thank you for taking us along on your journey. I'm so glad the breeder was responsible and took the time to get you and your dog acclimated. Thank you again for taking us along.
I cried in the end.. you know every living creature has the same feelings and emotions. and the way the little puppy interacted with your kiss ... so adorable. you gonna be a good team on your adventures.
What a handsome little man he is. One thing for sure is that he will have so many great adventures with you and his life will be filled with so much love! Congratulations on your new addition. Cannot wait to see him grow into the position of companion and protector. Brilliant!
A perfect addition to camping life, or any life for that matter! Enjoy your new journey learning right along with your pup. Each dog has its own ways, and you never know what they will challenge you with!LOL HAVE FUN!
Wow Eva that’s a great and very nice and safe change to team up with a puppy! You did very good to stay with the breeder for some days. And if I may give you one valuable tip: don’t make any new situation special, even if it’s exiting for you (and normally you are pretty good in showing your exitement😄) but your little wolf will be chill if he see’s you are chill too.. All the best for you two and you and enjoy your new best friend!🥰
Congrats! What a beautiful boy! We traveled all the way from Alaska to Michigan and lots in between with our dog. A suggestion on where you have the tether for his harness attached. You might try attaching it to one of the seat headrest posts so its above and centered up. It'll keep him from being thrown to one side if you have to stop quickly. Safe travels!
Having a dog friend is an incredible experience, this little guys can be so friendly and loving, you can be sure it will be a great companion, not only for a trip, but for life.
GSD’s are THE most loyal protectors, it’s in their DNA to watch over you constantly. Just don’t walk him too far to hard for his first two years. You have to let his hips and back get strong Literally only do two 15 mins walk a day He’s beautiful a true best friend for life
What a great mommy. It was so nice that you could break him in slowly spend time with him. Take it slow and easy with him getting used to the vehicle. Much respect, much kindness. I know you will have a wonderful life together. Thank you for the video.
I’m not sure whether I heard you say this in this video or the previous one that “the world belongs to the brave.” I love that and it really boosted my confidence hearing that when I’m about to take my first long solo drive in literally years with my young GSD mix. Thank you. You are an inspiration for my long dormant inner gypsy. 🙏🏼 And of course Vilk is beyond!
Great to meet Vilk, so cute. It's great to have someone to be travel with and keep you company in those long journey and adventure. Will also keep you safe. Such a handsome dog.
Oh I remember getting my new puppy…he cried and cried initially…i admit I was not sure it was gonna work out…but with time he finally became comfortable with our life together and we have been best buds ever since.congrats…you will never regret this addition to your family…they are the best companions!
Dogs are the BEST companions! I had two German Shepherds and they were trained and very protective, but social. Excellent choice for you and your travels.
This is so heart-warming! Especially that having watched some of your other videos, I can see that Vilk's been with you for over a year now and he's all grown up! I actually searched for this video to see how you got him. He's adorable!
What a beautiful dog! And you are doing such a great job being respectful of his limits and slowly exposing him to new things. We got our first dog 3 years ago, a beautiful Golden Retreiver. It changes your life, and has really made me grow as a person. Though, I will admit, his puppy biting made a grown man cry…
I am happy for you Eva. He is such a cute and playful puppy. Having said that, a part of me couldn't take well separating him from the rest of the puppies.
Vilk is wonderful. We've seen him at five months...and your latest video (at home), so we know it works out...but seeing the beginning is such a treat. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I thought I saw u on the highway the other day!! I have lived in Montana my whole life! I saw Odyssey and thought I think I know that car!! Omg it’s her wow crazy!!!
Oh Ava!!! I’m so glad you got a puppy!!! I will feel so much better knowing you have some protection!! I know he is still young and it will be more you protecting him for a while but I know when he’s a little bigger and I mean a few months he will be protecting you with his whole life!! I will not have to worry about you as much!! I can tell you already have a great bond and he is going to be your best friend!! Yay!!! Ava has a travel companion!!!❤️😊🙏🏻😇🦮
This is so moving and warm, it played all of my heart strings. There is nothing like a dog companion. Wishing you both a long and happy life discovering the world together.
Congrats on Wolf. He is handsome. I’m glad I started watching your experience. I too traveled my whole life. It’s nice to see more people living there best life. I traveled in a VW bus and a motorcycle in my time.
It’s so nice to see an example of quality GSD and a breeder caring enough to take the time to work with their puppies future home. Congratulations on your lovely addition. Just remember they grow out of the poos, piddles and chewing EVERYTHING! 🤣
Your comment made me flashback to an old photo (early 1900s or earlier maybe?) of German Shepherds. I think the point of it was how they used to have straight backs. Does that line still exist?
Isn't that part of the fun? ;) (Telling them "NO!" about things is okay (chewing) then giving something that's okay to chew, and praising. (It's negative AND positive reinforcement. 😉 )
@@ettcha Unfortunately, backyard breeding has destroyed the breed so they're harder to find. One breeder that had straight back GSDs was Vom Grunenfeld, not sure if they're still around though. As someone else pointed out, go with a Belgian Malinois since their gene pool hasn't yet been completely muddled.
🙏🏼💜 dogs are the best of friends and family ✌🏼💜 I love dogs I've always had them.. I've got 5 now 2 rescues from abandoned situations so now they are my pack 👍🏼 it's a safer feeling when they are with you.. he's absolutely amazing!
You know puzzles are great for your dog. I love taking the large orange clong, dropping a few tiny treats in it, and then stuffing multiple antlers into the end really hard so it's a challenge for the dog to remove. My dog loves it. Happy travels 🐺
Eva, you might consider carrying a bag of kitty litter. If Vilk has any accidents just pour the KL on. It absorbs all moisture totally, very quickly. I use a dust pan and little broom to lift it all and throw into the shrubbery. No plastic bags required. Congratulations.💕🐨
Good luck Eva & Vilk, I’ve always had dogs my whole life or at least been around them, I currently have two, and my best suggestion is super healthy food - not that brown boiled rubbish in plastic trays or tins, I’m sure you’ve googled the best dog food, also keep an eye on the ingredients of the treats, natural is best, not processed junk, remember dogs will pretty much eat anything, but healthy food, healthy dog….good luck and I’m so happy you have a dog as a travelling companion, especially such a loyal and intelligent dog like a German shepherd 👍👍👍👍
Thank you for sharing this video. It was very refreshing and comforting to watch. Reminded me of when I met my dog for the first time and brought her home and started our adventures. Enjoy all of the moments and memories, y’all will have wonderful adventures and memories.
The "sad" story of all domesticated animals for thousands of years. And the Sun will die at one point and all the wild animals with it. Shall we linger and die with it or move on and survive?
"Hello Eva". Hi, from Prince Edward Island, Canada. I am new to watching your channel, but each instalment is better than the last. Thank you for sharing your adventure with the rest of us. I have a feeling this new addition to your family is going to be a great one. Can't wait to watch him grow up. Cheers, Todd.
I found your channel recently so I know how close you and Vilk are now, I had to go back and see the beginning. I LOVE knowing that he becomes your absolute best friend in the whole world ❤
I have three dogs and a cat and I can’t imagine my life without them, yes they are a lot of work but the rewards are worth it and not to mention the unconditional love and support they give you.
One of the most singular defining, memorable moments in my life was meeting my GSD puppy for the first time. He passed years ago, but still has a place in my everyday life, as the logo of my business and a spiritual friend.
So glad to see you've got a furry companion to care for and who will care for you in return and be your travel buddy. I hope you have the opportunity to have him meet lots of people and other dogs to get well-socialized.
Haha, just wait until they approach 80-100lbs and then takes over the bed with you curl up sleeping in the corner. Cute BIG puppy! Its going to be a decent size dog for you too in the rover in a year or so.
Eva been watching for some time now. The tours of countrys and the culture of each has been so interesting. I am American and was so excited for your travels here. Wish you really would visit the USA not so touristy. Love you safe travels.
I’m so, so happy for you, Eva!! What a perfect pair you are! We just got a lab mix puppy in April and although it’s been challenging at times it’s so rewarding!! Kisses to Vilk ❤️
Dogs are truly man's best friend, the connection can be more than special! I recently lost my half German shepherd and blue heeler service dog of 4 years Serenity and just got my new Belgian Malanois Gunner and starting a new journey in training and making new memories.
Your pup will be with you through many of life's changes. The best (animal) friend and companion a person can have. My chocolate Labrador is such a pleasure to come home too. Always happy and they love you unconditionally.
There’s going to be so much ‘advice’ coming your way.....remember at the end of the day, he’s yours and you are his mum now so whatever is right for you is the right way! He’s beautiful. I can see you are going to be soul mates!
0:28 I fell in love with Noor when you showed her in your vlog. Even though she had been thru soooooo much she was still living her best life and enjoying it! Such a sweet and beautiful dog!! 🐕❤️❤️
I am not even so much into dogs, but when I see the connection between you and Vilk... wow, that is SO amazing! I wish you so much love and travels together
So cute a new journey of eva has been started with her cutie puppy. So amazing. Seeing you happy makes us happy ❤️❤️❤️he will probably provide you security 😉Best bond ever Lots of love to you 😘
Perfect perfect perfect, I made it to the 1:33 point of the video and just started crying for you with such happiness. Eva , I am so happy for you, and it sounds like the breeder lady has picked out an absolute perfect companion for you. Oh I am so happy for you, you needed this little guy in your life, it won't be very long until he has completely captured your heart. I know you will give your heart to him and he will take a bullet for you no matter what, because he knows you would do the same for him without hesitation. I am so very happy for you Eva, so very very happy. Danny in Texas.
Eva , please don't forget to stay focused on the road & the traffic, Don't become distracted because it can be very easy To do now with your new companion. I know you already know this, but I just wanted to put that little voice in your head. We love you too much, and it would kill us if something happened to you & Vilk.. stay blessed and I hope all your family in Poland is safe and doing good, I know their hearts are as full and happy as ours are. Danny in Texas
Oooohhhh .... (watching your youtube vids backwards to find "the start of Vilk"... he was soooo tiny!!! I used to live with three dogs since 2006, now have one of them left. All rescue dogs, never tiny puppies like Vilk. So happy for you both)
Yippee!!!! Congratulations Eva! I'm 58, and our Beautiful German Shepherd Cassidy passed away June 23 last summer. It was a low time. Then....we got Django our sweet Golden Retriever. He is just 1 year May 23. Now... We also are getting our little German Shepherd boy July 9th! Life will be very busy. It is really wonderful how Life gives you such gifts. My Dogs have always been my best friends. Now and forever. I tell Django to enjoy this calm, before the storm. I had a lump in my throat watching this video and feeling your joy! I am so very happy for you.
Congratulations Eva! A few suggestions from a former Shepherd owner to help you with your new best friend. That little red toy is called a 'kong'. Black is the most durable since Vilk will need to chew on something while teething. They can also be stuffed with peanut butter or frozen yogurt. The thing Vilk was sitting on that looked like a small trampoline, was a Karanda bed. Expensive but well worth it. Never give the dog normal bones. They tend to splinter which can lodge in their throats. They do make bones to chew on that don't splinter. The first 2 years will be the most frustrating. Shepherds require an immense amount of physical as well as mental simulation or they find ways to do this themselves, which is usually destructive in nature. Training and socialization with other dogs and people are important or the dog could become aggressive. Not sure how you're going to do this with your lifestyle. Best of luck to you and Vilk.
Yay! So happy for you Eva! My only advice as a lifelong working mountain dog lover. Conditioning and simple consistencies in your daily process at an early age will increase the bond between you two and set important boundaries for your puppies whole life. and as much structured and free puppy to puppy and human socializing you can give him will make a happy and polite dog in the future. Its all about setting him up for success in a given moment so he naturally does what you want and then praise him immensely as soon as he gets it right :) have had smart strong willed dogs all my life and puppy conditioning has made adult training about teamwork rather than a set of commands :)
You'll have to adapt to his rythmes a little: each time he wakes up he'll need to go toilet (remember if he has an accident it's your fault). I would consider getting a small cage for him to sleep in and to keep him safe whilst travelling. It'll come in very handy if you need to leave him whilst you go in a shop or whatever and avoid destruction of the contents of your land rover.
A GSD in a cage is like a gun without bullets she specifically said he's for protection. I've been a handler for 25 years never crated my dogs and they have never destroyed anything its all a matter of training.
Totally with you Christelle. What people who disagree have to understand, is that raising and training a puppy "on the road" is a lot different than a conventional upbringing for them. Btw I'm hoping that the face licking isn't encouraged once he gets older. So looking forward to their fun and adventures together.
@@thestumaji656 Wakey wakey William! What you say she said and what she means overall differ. Eva is firstly looking for companionship, with protection when the dog is big enough and old enough to be capable of that. Until then the dog is a slight liability as he matures and learns the ropes. Your analogy of "like a gun without bullets" paints a picture of your mindset. Incidentally your 25years experience means zilch. A hell of a lot of dogs are raised wrong. Me? I'm 68 and have had working dogs and pet dogs in teams and as singles most of my life. And yes - l do know what I'm talking about. Eva will learn and negative tips do more harm than good.
I love Vilk! My baby is an Australian Cattle Dog/GSD mix, and he looks more like a GSD. His name is Javier, but most of the time I call him “beautiful”. LOL. They have the absolute sweetest eyes ever. Mine goes pretty much everywhere with me and sleeps with me. Just a warning that when Vilk gets big, he may forget that he’s not a tiny baby and wake you with a paw to the face because he’s ready to go outside like Javier does with me. Best wishes on your adventures in the US with your new baby! ✌🏼💜🛼
Oh wow, new subscriber here. Training my little wolf was difficult, even while staying at home. I am amazed that you are planning to do it on the road. Good luck!

Eva, you're so lucky! I had tears through the whole video. I had a Shepard once, and I'm now living with yours as I can't have one in my life at this point. Enjoy the great times I know you'll have! See you on the trail someday, maybe. Berlin, New York.

So-so-so happy for you 🥳🥰😍❤️❤️❤️
Yay! They’re so smart and loyal and protective. I can see why they’re your favorite ☺️

This was exactly why I am building a truck camper. To take my golden retriever that is almost 6 months old. This will be such a special bonding time. I'm so happy for you, Eva!
Dogs are the best people I know. Congrats! That's a very lucky pup. He's going to see so many things and have such great adventures with you.
i no longer have the anxiety watching you alone knowing that vilk is by you❤ stay safe eva and vilk
I'm in awe, the type of adventures Vilk will have with you will make him a strong and courageous dog! Safe travels and good luck
Take care with warm hugs for you both 🙏❤️🙏
Hello how are you doing?
I found you young one! Good choice on the pup! He will protect you. Seeing you together makes me miss my German Shepard Jerry as he was my best friend for so many years. I'm crying now!
Awww I’m sure Jerry was such a good boy ❤️
Thank you for taking us along on your journey. I'm so glad the breeder was responsible and took the time to get you and your dog acclimated. Thank you again for taking us along.
I cried in the end.. you know every living creature has the same feelings and emotions. and the way the little puppy interacted with your kiss ... so adorable. you gonna be a good team on your adventures.
What a handsome little man he is. One thing for sure is that he will have so many great adventures with you and his life will be filled with so much love! Congratulations on your new addition. Cannot wait to see him grow into the position of companion and protector. Brilliant!
There’s no greater love than that of a puppy!!! Congratulations and long happy life to both of you…
A perfect addition to camping life, or any life for that matter!

You have to let his hips and back get strong Literally only do two 15 mins walk a day He’s beautiful a true best friend for life
Vilk seems to be just what you needed. Congratulation to you both. Your fan in Ontario Canada

Haha! Yesss! Ginny is awesome ☺️❤️
Your comment made me flashback to an old photo (early 1900s or earlier maybe?) of German Shepherds. I think the point of it was how they used to have straight backs. Does that line still exist?
@@ettcha There are German Shepherd Dogs with a straight back. But I would recommend a Belgian Shepherd Dog instead.

You know puzzles are great for your dog. I love taking the large orange clong, dropping a few tiny treats in it, and then stuffing multiple antlers into the end really hard so it's a challenge for the dog to remove. My dog loves it. Happy travels 🐺

So happy Eva is meeting these decent people in the USA. Canadians are decent too. Hope she enjoys her trip!

I second everything you said. It is going to be a real challenge in a vehicle.
So glad you’re going to have company and a protective dog.
Congratulations on the new addition to the team! Everything is better with a dog!
So true
@@thestumaji656 BS
I'm sure your intention is well but please kindly resist the urge to give unsolicited dog advice. Eva said she's being swamped with it.
