- Watch Gates Wildlife Control humanely remove a family of foxes from underneath a front porch/deck.
After going over the footage for an upcoming presentation I have, we decided to release some never seen before footage of our fox job from April 2019.
To see the first video we made in 2019 click here: • Baby Fox Frenzy | Too ...
To answer the most often asked question...we didn't forget a baby underneath. Mother animals will always return one last time to ensure they retrieved all of their young. Animals can't count like we can, which means they don't even know the number of babies they had in the first place! We appreciate the concern from everyone in the comments.
Please give this video of thumbs up if you enjoyed it!

My grandfather rescued an injured fox, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the 1970s. It took to him, lived with him, and rode in his pickup truck, looking out the back window all the time. After it was healed it took off. Then months later SHE came back with her kits, just to show them to my grandfather. He pet them and played with them for a few hours on his front porch, and then she left with her babies, never to be seen again. She just wanted him to meet her family. She considered him a friend. He's passed away now but that story lives on.
Lovely Story...
That story is cool. Animals are intelligent creatures.
This is incredible...animals are very smart creatures without doubt
And who knows, maybe the descendants of mother Fox are still thinking of your grandfather, the good person who saved their family.
They make Disney movies about wonderful stories like that! Or, they used to!
I love that the mom comes back one last time, like “let me make sure I didn’t miss one”
That’s actually the part that scares me the most, the way she desperately was looking around it’s possible they blocked the porch off with 1 baby still inside!

I love how she kept checking to see if she left anyone behind. That's how you know you got too many babies lol
Lol that's for sure
either she lost count or 1 or a few more somewhere under the deck at other corner
@@FunktasticoI was also wondering if the humans missed one. Apparently, foxes can’t count so well. 😂
Hi
Yep. Mom needs to keep checking a few times to make sure - since they don't do math.
She thinks the box is going to close and trap her inside, she's testing the box to see if it's a trap, she's smart.🦊
I said the same thing!
I did feel like she was going "I %$%$# know this is a trap, but my babies are in there."
I'm sure that is true.
No for me buddy. It takes a lot of time, study and strategy to build or find a den. Trap or not she'll get as much of her babies. What she did for a long time, scuppering and disturbing the ground was a sign of frustration. That she needs to immediately remember where her second best option for a den. She didn't had one. Considering the time she took. Because there are lots of things consider relocating. Competitors, predators and comfort. She thought that after labour she can only focus on finding food to produce milk. That wasn't the case anymore. Now, the real brilliance was how the animal instinct kicked in. She and her pups are made exposed in this side, not very welcoming indeed. Basic and simple...she went unto the other side. Just a guess.
why they say smart as a fox
For those asking, the reason why she digs is because she wants to mix her footprints with sand and avoid being tracked considering that someone previously found her nest. Also they are super smart at looking for traps etc. They learned that from their ancestors.
Thanks for this info! :-)
I wish humans did
Maybe trying to tunnel under the box
I thought perhaps she was using the sound of the rustling leaves to make sure that no humans were going to come out while she was moving the kits... then I got to the time lapse part and saw your explanation
Thought the same i.e. tunnelling. And the way she was dropping them on the ground, she probably did the prep for reducing the impact.
The fact that she was really making sure she grabbed all her pups just was so special to me!
Hello there pretty is that really you on your profile photo? Wow!
@@jerryneumann4626💀
Absolute creep.
Is one missing?
That made me wonder. Was there one missing somehow? But hopefully not so beautiful they are.
Foxes are such a beautiful animal. Thank you so much for saving this precious little family ❤
I had a family of nine foxes living under my summer house in Dulwich (south east London) - I found a female cub in the bushes, very young.... She stayed in the garden for years, she recognised my voice (and probably smell) and would come when I called her.... She would wait patiently at the back door every morning to be fed (she really liked ham and her favourite was prawn crackers which were a very rare treat!) and if I didn't appear quickly enough she would jump up and rattle the door handle..... She would bring her cubs to show me every spring for about five years.... There was also a very large, quite majestic looking male fox, clearly the 'daddy' - he wasn't aggressive but I always knew to keep my distance.... One day he appeared with the end of his tail hanging off, it was obviously painful and infected - I crushed some antibiotics into a jam sandwich over the course of a few days and the damaged end fell off, with the infection cleared.... He then would wait in the garden to be fed with the others.... Six months later, he appeared again with one eye missing and a very infected socket - again antibiotics in a jam sandwich and a week later he was as good as new - I named him Cyclops and he became very much a part of my fox family and lived for another seven years.....
I'm so glad they had you to care for them!
Awesome that you did that and won his trust. He obviously was a brawler and he needed someone like you to patch him up now and then. Kudos to you!
Wow, God bless you. Thank-you.
What an inspiration of love.
Thanks 👍

@@robertjansen7361 ... if one was missing, she would know. The Gate's service might have missed one kit, who had a chance to hide, while they were removing his/her siblings, but Mama will go back and find him/her, once the others are safely in the new den.

You guys are both wrong! She was mad they touched her babies so she tore up their yard!
She had no concept of "inside a box" and tried to dig under the box to get to the babies. Or it was some kind of displacement activity before she figured out how to take them out over the edge of the box.
Um, maybe but most likely trying to dig under the box as they have a downward way to get through. A pounce method like when the hunt. They go down to go through
She was trying to cover up her paw prints so dogs or other animals can’t follow her sent foxes are really smart and adaptable animals they will play tricks ect

It’s crazy how she is aware of all kind of tricks and traps. The reason why she’s digging up the earth is so you can’t hear her when she walk close to the box. The dry leaves make a lot of noise and BTW they’re called a Sly Fox for a reason.

I thought at first she was trying to undermine the box in hopes that they'd slip out, but now I wonder if that's not to mask her steps. Whatever it is, she's really clever and cautious. Foxes deserve their rep.

And at first, she did it while they were making noise, then stopped when the noise stopped. Then she did some test noises, and waited to see if anyone came, before doing more digging.

I lived in a place in the middle of London for a while and below my apartment was a small area of unused land. The foxes had moved in from the country and set up home in the unused land. The screeches of them mating was very fightening and sounded like Banshees wailing. It was always a great joy to stand on my terrace looking down below on to the unused land where the beautiful fox cubs could freely run about and play without any fear of humans bothering them, sometimes they would spot me from below and give a great curious quizical stare.
On one occasion the young cubs were exploring a nearby garden and one of them got his head stuck in a narrow opening on an old Belfast Sink. The poor little cub couldnt free itself no matter how it tried and the mother was very perplexed by the situation looking around and in myndirection for help and a solution, I tried the neighbours but to no avail and then I phoned the RSPCA and explained the situation. They cut up their floor, take babies and film it to show everyone how awesome they are
So did I. The mama fox had to find another home because she was evicted. I wish he showed where she brought them. Would have been nice to see that she really did have a better place to go. The nice thing about her being under their porch is they wouldn't have to worry about mice, lol. But as those seven grew up, they would be a nuisance, being out of their habitat.
@@fonzdevries4575 i mean, do you want foxes living right outside your house?
Mom has obviously not seen a box before, she was well puzzled on how to get her babies out. Her instinct was to dig underneath like it was a fence, bless her. She finally managed to figure it out and took each quite roughly out one by one. Foxes can't count so she came back to check there weren't any more. I loved how she had to keep double checking to make sure she'd got them all. I liked how you just carried on making lots of noise even though she was fearful, not making it too easy for her and as close to reality as possible. Well done to everyone involved 👏 👍 may you have enough funds to rescue many more creatures.
I think she felt it could be a trap since the box had a lid. I agree, I love how she kept making sure she got all her babies! Very smart and brave mother Fox ❤️
Yall got way too much time on your hands.
I doubt she didn’t know how many babies she had. The people must have missed one.
She did that for cushion for the baby’s
Just couldn’t leave them alone
You are a great mommy, foxy! ❤
Thank you people for such an act.🙏God BLESS
Mama fox was not playing around. She got all her kids back! True legend.
Frantic momma fox: "Are there any left? Have I forgotten anyone? Let me check. Let me double-check."
Fox: oh yeah, that's right, we all dined on the corpse of the stillborn. Silly me, I swear I'd lose my tail if it wasn't attached to my tookis...
And here we are as humans leaving our young in hot cars......
Yea that was incredible how she came back a few times to make sure she didn’t forget one. Absolutely amazing to watch nature working
@@freep2s yea couldn’t agree more.
My family once had to hand rear a kitten who was left behind when a feral cat got disturbed and moved her litter. Not sure if she lost count on lost her nerve but she never came back for the last one
That was so sweet . Great job you two !
You did great in freeing them and letting their Mum take them. Congratulations ❤❤❤
She looked so worried that she missed one, so sweet! Only took her 5 minutes to come and get them. I never saw a baby fox, so cute, almost like kittens!

Unironically enough, baby foxes are called 'kits". As in Kit Carson.
Foxes are something like a cross between cats and dogs, even tho they are in the canine family. Fox can retract their claws like a cat. And other things.
There is nothing in this world like a mother’s love. ❤️
Except a father's love.
@@markuse3472 There is nothing stronger than the instincts of a mother.
Perfectly said! 💗.
Annie Freiler except the instincts of a father
@@fortnitepros8025 well father instincts are different - male foxes will kill baby foxes even if it's theirs.. Some animals will kill their offspring so the mother can get pregnant again.. Crazy world
What a wonderfully story to watch❤! I loved it!
They are just too cute, you can see how someone might mistake them for puppies. What a good Mom, I was cheering her on, she broke my heart desperately trying to dig her way into the box. Thank you for your work, it must be the best job in Canada.
The intelligence in her eyes. She looks directly at the camera numerous times and it just blew my mind. We have them in my neighborhood and my favorite time of year is when they have the babies and they make such cute noises. We have a natural wood and they stay in there most the time but every once in a while we get to see them, not that young though.
Bless you for keeping them safe & letting them go. I am very lucky to live with so much wildlife around me and I’d miss them all, the osprey, the fox, the snakes and even skinks, skunks and raccoons. They bring me joy when they come to visit and I watch them from the window.
Someone once told me that camera lenses look like eyes which is why animals are sometimes wary. Not sure if it’s true.
You are very lucky. In UK they are supposed to be protected but farmers kill them and then their bodies are littered on the roadside especially in Essex. Some people are very cruel.
@@saraswatkin9226 Farmers have a right to protect their livestock from them, foxes are ravenous predators, once they find a food source they keep coming back til it’s all gone. They make short work of small animals like chickens or ducks.
Me and a couple of my niggas bout to come thru and party in your yard.. we better get the same special treatment 🤣
No
God bless anyone and everyone who rescues animals. True heroes help the ones who CAN'T pay them back.

Amen! True of the animal kingdom as well as the human kingdom? Very true,
Humans just don't Care, although it takes More....
I found raccoons in the basement of the old house. I thought they would attack, but all they wanted was the banana nut muffin I had in my hand. I gave it to them and I had a furry bunch of new buddies. _ _
.__.
What rescue?
They pay you back with love
Thanks guys! For another humane rescue. You guys ROCK!
Thank you for putting these beautiful little creatures in a safe location for the mother fox to collect them. This was beautiful to watch, those babies are cute and the mother fox is a very beautiful creature as well.
Bless her Heart. She’s a great mom.
If a human mother grabbed her kids by the scruff of their neck with her teeth and yanked them out of a box, causing them to fall flat on their face, would she be a great mom?

The second one was like, 'NOPE nope' "my mommy said not to talk to strangers!"

This culture is growing only on modern city.
Indeed this was not on human culture, that’s how we born advanced than other animals. How you see is what you receive it. “Flowers has both rose and thorn” if you see flowers then you will see the world is like flowers, if you think there are only thorns around then you have only strangers around that will harm you every steps.
“Shadows only resemble how the object is”... Be optimistic 👍
The mama was really stressed out when she found her babies in that box. Her digging into the yard was her effort in creating a new den for her babies... plus, she did seem to be searching for another … I hope all of them were pulled out.
Shut up ye blert
. NOW HOW ARE THE MOTERE AND BABIES, CAN Y PLEASE UPLOAD LATEST VIDEO? EAGERLY WAITING.
Beautiful kit Foxes so adorable. I want one.
Beautiful, inteligent, wonder of nature ❤
Funny how she knows it's a box and that there is a lid. She checks it out carefully looking for triggering device.
They are crazy smart animals.
Foxes are extremely careful, since they are surrounded by predators.
Yes
I was wondering why she cleaned te area around the box.
@@marvaart7659 I would say she was just digging a hole in order to access the box from the bottom
who decided to do construction work when the fox was trying to figure the shit out lol
Seriously right?? That’s what I kept thinking the whole time while I watched this
Can't just leave holes in the fucking walkway you knobs. Property is liable for injuries to tenants involving the state of the property
Nakano Hitori yea but couldn’t they wait 30 minutes
Her distress is obvious. All the banging and noise is scary. This is an attempt to save her family and I appreciate that, but I do feel the distress…
Time is money. I know that ..but that was fucking radiculus. You can wait 2-3 hours..nobody will get hurt.
Precious story! So glad you shared it...
Wow that was so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I especially love your beautiful smiling souls. She's a good mom
Love how the Mother creeped around the back of the Bush to view her Babies. That's why they're considered to be "Sly Fox". Very intelligent Creatures.
And it is unbelievable that a whole horde of humans and dogs hunt a fox just for the sake of it. And they called themselves royalty. hmmm
Sly Cooper
And beautiful
@@martingsilva Yeah that's pretty wrong. But If you're a farmer and a fox is killing your livestock, You would have to hunt it down.
Yes, unlike the human ones who likely left one under the deck and sealed it in. Instead of trying to make money off the job he should have advised the homeowner to let them be until mama moves them on or they get old enough to leave on their own, then enclose the rest of the porch.
It's really heartwarming to see how kind people help a mother fox survive with her cubs.
Valuable work once and for all.
I really appreciate this.
The home owners are generous. I'm not sure I'd let these workers destroy my deck for those foxes
I'd give the fox food every day and help it live an easy life under my deck. Not sure wtf is wrong with people, they get so possessive over property with little consideration for wildlife. At least they called animal control and didn't try to kill it I guess. It's the suburbs where tf is a fox supposed to live. lol
Animals have a right to privacy and should NOT be filmed .
@@seltonk5136 shut up
@@seltonk5136 I hear the fox has a pending lawsuit against the owner, claiming squatter’s rights.
