Hi, i’m from Belgium. The chocolate bar and chocolate wafels are from a supermarket brand, they are even better when you buy the brand. The banana flavour actually isn’t quite common here. If you get the chance you should definatly try the lotus speculoos spread (warning: it’s quite sweet). I love watching your video’s and it was nice to see you trying belgian food.
Fries speculaas mossels
HAha yes!
Je hebt gelijk je kan die kopen in de colruyt
Het is eerder een reclame voor die pakketjes van the biscuit baron lijkt me... But you're right in your statement ;-)
The banana flavour is totally common
Hi, I m from Belgium and this selection of products is a bit weird... not the best ad for Belgium
I don't know why they send you boni waffles. It's a generic brand. There are much better waffles. Love your video though!
Les gaufres Suzy sont meilleures
Also the banana chocolate bar. cheap generic brand. Côte d’Or or Jacques is sooo much better.
Ils veulent donner une image déplorable de notre pays...
Cheaper... :p
I was thinking the exact same thing XD
I'm in Belgium and they gives you the cheapest product from the store (boni for the waffles)... not a good box
1:23 just to be clear: Flemish (Dutch) for biscuit does not only mean 'beschuit', it is also used as 'koekje', when talking about afternoon snacks, more like the American 'cookie'.
Heb mijn comment bijgewerkt!
Hi, I'm from Belgium and I see that most brands are just ban Boni selection and that's just a house brand so I guarantee you that that's not the best, this just comes from the supermarket. Maybe the next time of things that are specialized in Zijn😉
a house brand of a dutch supermarket chain
I'm belgian aswell, and let me tell you speculoos is just, everything, the biscuits, the spread, the ice cream, even the flavor in drinks or on doughnuts, it's amazing!! The waffles are definitly better if you buy them from the brand Lotus, these are a supermarket brand and indeed are a bit dry. You should definitly try''pralines' and 'Neuzekes' it's very popular here! I have personally never eaten the banana bars, just not for me. The biscuits you ate first are often used as little appetizers with a topping, but yes they're great haha. Prince cookies is what basically every kid in belgium grows up with. It's like oreo's, we all try to open the up, scrape the chocolate en then eat the cookie. They're delicious. They also come with white (vanilla) chocolate. If you ever come to Belgium, there is an amazing restaurant that only serves traditional dishes. It's called Meme Gusta, in Ghent. Hope you do! (you could also opt for star chefs, there are a lot of those here haha)
You do have the 'Prince' cookies with a vanille cream filling! Very delicious!
AHHHH, finally!!! I'm from Belgium =)) So happy you guys finally made this vid! One of my fav is the chocolate with banana in it. Lots of loveee XXXX
Yaaay! Pleased we could finally have a Belgium video up for you! ♥️ hope you enjoyed watching xxxx
rien d'extrat......
15€ la boîte c'est cher payer....
half of the products came from colruyt, it's probably worth in the € 1 package ...
waffles and banana chocolate it's not even brand name products in Belgium, it's just a store brand product at the lowest price ....
Apart from LOTUS AND PRINCES
nothing spécial ......
15 € the box is expensive to pay ....
Prince also comes with half milk and half white chocolate filling and it’s soooo good
Btw - you mention how the Speculoos (or Biscoff) biscuits were bringing out a spread 'like trader joes', when actually it was invented by Speculoos/Biscoff (By Belgium brand Lotus) over 10 years ago! (I think around 2007/08) The shops then copied the original spread, and it's increased a lot in popularity globally over the past few years.
Hi, I'm from Belgium and i would recommend the Lotus speculoos dipped in coffee and then spreaded on bread. It's really nice! And i don't know if someone mentioned this but st- nicolas is different then santa (christmas). St-nicolas i just a holiday for children in Belgium and The Netherlands :)
The Biscoff spread is amazing!
Still don’t know why I haven’t tried that yet!! Need to try it
There are 2 different kinds. One with crunchy bits and a regular smooth one. I prefer the last one, but both are worth to try. You only need a very thin layer on the bread to get the full taste. Love it!
All the Boni stuff is like a store brand from Belgium.
Also the cent wafers have better versions.
But the prince wafers have a vanilla version version tho!
The toasts/beschuit are more made for putting some kind of spread on them to give as a little entry at a party.
Hey i am from belgium and i wanna say that there’s also a price biscuit with vanilla flavour. ❤️
Yay! I love your taste testing videos. You and Alex are the best love your channel and videos ❤️
Hey Grayson!! Thank you so much ❤️ always see you pop up in our comments. Thank you for your supports!
InTheKitchenWithKate Aww thanks Kate thanks for noticing and replying to my comments. I love watch your videos and I love your gluten free cooking videos ❤️
Hello Kate, I love your channel and have been trying your recipes. They are so easy and delicious. My family is loving them! I also enjoy watching you and Alex try stuff from other countries. Every time my daughter and I are at the store here in America we say, I wonder if Kate and Alex have tried this candy. Keep up the amazing videos!
Hey Kary! I’m so pleased to hear that and to hear you’ve been trying my recipes ☺️ ahh no way! That makes me happy ❤️ thanks for thinking about us
Kary Couture Good to know I am not the only one who does this. Lol
Lol! Right!
Asia last year did a caramelised biscuit gateau and it was biscoff inside it is the most amazing thing I've ever tasted in my life no exaggeration x
7:06 Is that Christmas?
Whahaha we have that too, but Saint Nicholas is something extra haha
The Lotus spread is absolutely delicious! I just ate it with a spoon. :)
I still haven’t tried it!! I need to try it ASAP!
Very cool! Nice change from the sweets tasting.😊
Thanks Gigi! Yes we really enjoyed this change too ☺️
Hi i am from Belgium and the prince bisquits are verry popular. You have them in a lot of versions and also with vanilla flavor.
I really love your top, Kate. Green is my favorite color and the flowers are really pretty.
The lotus spread is lovely the smooth 1 is better than crunchy xx
Kate you look absolutely adorable today!! I love your hair pulled back like that and your dress! So cute! Now onto the video lol
Odd that those were all in a biscuit box. I only though of two as a biscuit. The last ones looked the best! They looked great!
Thank you very much! Very kind of you! It’s a new hairstyle. Feel like I might do it more ☺️
Yeah! A biscuit box!!! We felt the same but suppose it’s nice to have a mix of savoury and sweet
Love all your videos! So fun! I have put a box together for you guys but the cost to ship is outrageous!
I agree with the guy below pointing out you've got supermarket brands instead of actual premium but still good yes!
From the prince biscuit we have the vanila flavor too. I love those.
The toast chips we yous for aperitief with savory toppings. (Sorry my inglish is not great)
I always wish I could taste the candy with you...great food and great people at the same time.😋
That would be so great if we could send out a specific box and all of us ate it at the same time!!! Ah thank you so much ☺️
a little tip if you buy a dry Liège waffle. Put them into the microwave for a few seconds. The difference in taste is enormous.
Saint Nicolas isn't the same as christmas, it's a different holliday in the Netherlands and Belgium (Germany as well). We also celebrate christmas.
Hello i'm from Belguim. And liked to watch you try Belguim food. On the paper with the belguim flag you see the word biscuits in dutch. It's not beschuit but koekje. You can say beschuit but that is a kind of crunchy bread that we eat with butter for breakfast
the prince cookies are there also with vanilla cream! i'm from belgium! xx
The Biscoff spread is amazing.
😢😢 they only deliver to UK... america needs it we have terrible cookies (biscuits). I order a lot of my food from the UK because you guys don’t use all the chemicals and dyes we use here.
They now ship to the USA
Tracey we have stuff in America that doesn't have dyes n chemicals ever have Lorna doone or social tea biscuits?
Sammi R i have seen and pirchased Lorna Doone but have never seen Social Tea. I will look that one up. Thank you Sammi.
@@BuckleUpButtercup62 Social Tea is an oldie but goodie...even my grandmother bought those! (Westchester, NY) :)
Pepperidge farm got their start by going to get recipes from the royal bakers of Belgium or something a long time ago. It says on the back on how they got their start/niche.
The videos of you and Alex tasting different foods are my favorite! You two seem to have so much fun making them! And your dress is too cute! Looking forward to the next video!
The Banana medicine is Amoxicillin suspension! I work in a pharmacy and love making this up... I’m such a smeller... it smells amazing! Throws me back to when I used to have it as a child! ... Keep up the great work guys! Love your testing videos, 👍❤️
Ah no way!! That’s awesome. I’m such a smeller too 👌🏻 it’s so nice. Thank you Niina ❤️
the spread is great! Lotus makes great alternatives to Nutella!
Nice to know ... the son (Edward de Beukelaer born in 1843 Ekeren) of a small bakery in Flandres wanted to industrialize the production of biscuits, his mother baked delicious cookies, went to England to find out how to fulfill his dream. That dream became reality, and his factory baked the chocoprince, centwafers and many other kind of delicious cookies under de brand of De Beukelaer. The brand was taken over by the French holding Lu in 1977.
Speculoos spread; before it existed; we dunked the speculoos in our coffee (latte) and spread it on white bread with butter. Yummie.
These videos always make me hungry and I feel like I need to eat along with you. Lol! I may or may not have made a cup of tea and opened a package of Milano cookies just now. 😂
I love wafer cookies. Goya makes a version of water cookies that come in guava, mango, and other popular Hispanic fruit tastes.
*wafer
Oh wow! Not really had a fruit wafer before. Sound amazing
If you guys do trytreats they also do a different country every month. But they tell you more info about that place.
The spread is AMAZING... Cookie Butter is what it’s called here in the US
They're all looks lush.
☺️☺️
Thank you for the wonderful video. You make your channel very entertaining. The videos are also educational. Thumbs up!
Such a lovely comment. Thank you so much ☺️
I'm not a big fan of speculoos spread but i love the biscuits
Realise, they thought this was a very good box while there are even better biscuits from Belgium haha
There are Prince biscuits with vanilla as well
You need to try the Lotus ice cream and the crunchy spread, it’s amazing, I sometimes eat the spread just as a snack with a spoon out of the jar, it’s amazing!
Best channel ever like your reaction Kate and Alex
♥️♥️♥️ thank you!
we have the prince wafers and biscuits here in algeria also and they are amazing i can see why you loved them ♥
Ah awesome!! Jealous we don’t get them here!
InTheKitchenWithKate actually we don't make it here in algeria but we import a lot of sweets from all around the world 🙎❤
Absolutely love you guys. Xx
Hey guys, you should dunk all of these in coffee, not tea. That's what most belgians would do :)
Hello, I’m from Belgium and I loved this video! Cent Wafers and Speculoos are amazing in milk, you have to try! And I didn’t know about this banana chocolate bar, never ate one🤷🏼♀️ Oh and there’s also Prince biscuits with vanilla cream in it, they’re even better than the chocolate one!
Great video, I love watching the two of you. :) The Biscoff spread is amazing by the way!
There are Vanilla Cream filled Prince cookies in Belgium, but they are not quite as common.
Yes! It’s called cookie-butter and it was speculoos flavored. You’re right it was from Trader Joe’s however I wasn’t personally a fan of the spice. We also have a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream with it in
Someone else has said it has a spice to it too! Wonder if I would have liked it! Oh wow. That’s awesome
Cent wafers vanille is best one
I'm recently new subscriber and been doing my catching up on your videos. And ima just say I love them. It all looks so yummy
Kate, I used to have that banana medicine when I was little, it was called Disprol. I wouldn't take calpol but I loved the disprol.
That cookie butter spread from trader Joe's is AMAZING!! It goes really well on pancakes and waffles. I love it sooo much. You HAVE to try it!!
We have something like the Toast n’ chips in the USA called Bagel Chips. They used to be very popular!
Another great vid!!! So excited! I can send you some greek candy that should be fun! Oh and the lotus spread to die for personally i think! Used in to make a cheesecake used the lotus biscuit for the base and the spread with some cream cheese for the filling!!! Amazing!!!! Ps we get the prince biscuits here as well!!! Love them! Xxx
Thank you Deena! Ah that would be lovely. We haven’t tried Greek candy yet! Ahh I so need to try the lotus spread!! Jealous you get the prince biscuits! Xxx
I’m from Belgium and the herb crisps you tried first, I honestly don’t know why they told you to get tea with it because we never do that... everyone just uses them as an appetizer with some spread on top of it actually..
We, in Belgium, have those Prince biscuits also with vanilla 😉
Oh wow!
Those waffles were dry because you got send the cheapest ones that cost like 99 cents.
If you ever go to Belgium, buy suzy waffles by lotus. Those are the best ones!
They also have vanilla filling prince biscuits and a lot of people prefer those, one of those people is me ; ). I'm from Belgium btw.
yes they do a oreo style double filling for the prince cookies
Yayyyyy😁😁 Love this, a nice change on a candy taste test!💕
We really enjoyed the change too ☺️👌🏻
Sometimes when I have dunking cookies/biscuits, I take a bite of the cookie then sip the coffee/tea through the cookie bite.
Smudge is the name of one of our cats. 🙂
11:26 That exists too haha
Another great one guys! I found myself wondering if you all have Fig Newtons in the UK? They are delish. If you havent had them, give em a try.
Thank you Kristie! I’m not sure we have that brand but we do have things similar to that here in the UK!
We actually do have the prince biscuits with vanilla filling.
Speaking of biscuits, I got to try the dark chocolate covered McVitie's digestives. I thought they were fantastic. I liked the fact that they weren't as sweet as most of the cookies made here in the US.
Hi Kate and Alex, from Louisville, ky USA. I love watching your videos, always entertaining :)
I was just watching your Milka video and I loved it! My kids and I are going to try to do a tasting with you and see if we have the same reaction.
Ah no way!! I love Milka. Pleased you enjoyed the video ☺️ great idea! 😀 I hope you love them too
Your have to try some of our American ones to!
We had a pink med amoxicillin that we loved growing up and my daughter still gets it tasted like candy
It was always so good when I got the good tasting medicine haha
InTheKitchenWithKate yeah why does growing up make you want to be a kid again
In Mexico we have Principe (Spanish for prince) cookies that are essentially a "double stuffed" version of those Belgian ones! Look the same, not sure if they'd taste the same
You should try the toast and chips in the flavour: paprika, they actually taste like pizza 🍕❤️
Thanks Kate and Alex for another awesome Teaste Test video ☺🤗👏
I love your top kate and I love biscuits. It’s amazing how those biscuits are from Belgium ❤️😊
Thank you very much Amrita, it’s a maxi dress ☺️ hehe I love biscuits too! 😍
My favourite tea is Twinnings English Breakfast....
Love Twinnings too 😍☕️
I love your flower top, you look adorable !
Thank you so much! It’s actually a Maxi dress. We are having a pretty big heat wave here for the UK!
In Belgium we have Saint Nicolas on the 6th December and Christmas in the 25th like every one 😁
In the boxes you provide, do you include teas? I generally don't care for tea, but I've been told that authentic English tea is so much different and better.
I want to get your box around December as a Christmas gift for my daughters. Will you all do a Christmas themed box and should I order it in November or beginning of December?
Mmmmm I love lil toasty breads.
Hey guys! This looked delicious! I have actually tried the Biscoff spread and it was too sweet for me!🙈🙊
I'm from Belgium. It's strange they dont put all big name brands in them. Bc the store brands do taste different. The only Thing with a brand name is Lotus and prince
Hey Kate! Love your dress and hair today! This are my favorite of you guys videos! BTW I love the way you guys say Banana. We don't have banana flavored medicine but we have a pink kind which taste like bubblegum almost. I always felt bad for thinking it tasted so good. Lol
Thank you very much! Yaay I’m glad you enjoy these style videos! Haha no way! I’m wondering how you say it now! Oh wow bet that was amazing. Haha no don’t feel bad, seems as if we all enjoyed our childhood medicine haha
There's an old man in your back garden watering your plants!
The speculoos spread is a Belgian invention ;)
The translation on the fact sheet you got isn't exactly correct. Beschuit is a word used in Belgium rather for a dry crispbread or a rusk whilst a biscuit like a shortbread for example is 'koek'. As a Belgian living in the UK I did really enjoy this video though and you made me realise how much I miss my Belgian treats 🤣
Looks soo yummy! The chocolates ones would be my first ones as I have such a weakness for chocolate lol. The wafers too😍. Great video as always you guys!!!
Those ones were super delicious. Perfect for a chocolate lover 😍 thank you Jo!!
I love these videos so much I watched them all 😍😍
Hey there! I just stumbled on your vid. Was that a box to mock the Belgian Biscuits? There are so much better products in store than what they sent you. The first one is an appetizer that no one ever eats as just a biscuit. Only the Lotus Speculoos and Prince cookies are the right brands. Just went LMFAO about that box :p
