@@WayToManyAssassins correct, that's why I do almost anything in cars, bikes, home...yesterday I had to put my car in mechanics due to tandem pump leak and adjust injectors on a 2.0 TDI , 78€ for the repair kit and 4 hours of labour, almost 300€ total.
I can't imagine the amount of cash needed to maintain these relative cheap cars.
The only thing more expensive than a new BMW, is a used one!
If you do the work yourself, its alright, i havent spent much on my E92 just a few gaskets and normal wear and tear items.

DO YOUR WORK YOURSELF holy shit lol. I literally have had my 2011 550i since 2011 and I worked on everything myself. It still has the original engine.
