    For anyone wondering... You need to change the scale of the Wave texture to achieve the look of Dham's render from the point where he finishes explaining.

    thats great the glass looks crisp and solid too - thanks for sharing the bump technique is there a way to use it as a dispclacement too i wonder

      I guess you can use the displacement too, but I haven't tried it.

      @@DikkeHamster Hi just reporting back for your interest! I spent some time creating some test ideas and I achieved what I was looking for using an image as displace for the beer bottle top concept I had in mind - this was to produce a "pressed in" look on the bottom side of the metal tops - worked out great!     Thanks for this. How did you bring up the smart UV project dialog?

      By default, blender >=2.8 sets spacebar as 'Play'. To set it as 'Search', go to Preferences -> Keymap -> Preferences -> Spacebar Action.
