I’ve had excision surgery 3 years ago, and got pregnant naturally since :) even though it was stage 3-4, and they say that you’d need ivf with it for sure basically. So I’m here to say that it’s possible to get pregnant naturally. I’m sure the excision has played its effect
Yes, it is possible and we do see that frequently in our practice. We even have a study and a index we use called the EFI to predict fertility outcomes after wide excision surgery. www.vitalhealth.com/endo-blog/stages-of-endo/
@@vitalhealthendometriosisce4116 I was considering an excision, but was told from an oncologist that my gynecologist referred me to (stage 4, bowel endometriosis) told me I’d be on a colostomy bag for life. N-acetilcysteine plus iodine supplement plus selenium clean the endometriosis in a few months. Maca root supplement is welcomed. Dairy and soy must be eliminated from the diet. Stress is clearly an agravating factor-Gaba, ashwagandha, meditation will help.
Nothing 'cleans out the endometriosis ' with the exception of expert wide excision surgery. @@CM-zw4hx Unfortunately I found that out the hard way smh. (Ablation/excision)I got an ablation by way of laparoscopic surgery. The endometriosis had grown back in 6 months. While I had initially decided against surgery, but reluctantly had it to diagnose the endometriosis, if I’d known the difference between an ablation and excision, I would have had an excision instead of laparoscopic ablation. 7 years later the endo has completely infiltrated my ovaries and bowels. So much so I was referred to an oncologist for surgery, who told me if I had the bowel endometriosis removed I’ll be on a colostomy bag for life. I’m not even 30 smh
Dr. Cook performed a partial supra-cervical hysterectomy for me including cleanup of extensive endo and scar tissue, appendectomy, rectacele repair and hydrodistension and scoping of my bladder in 2008. The best decision I ever made. Prior to that I had taken narcotic pain medicine monthly since high school because the pain was so bad. Before surgery the pain was not only during periods, but pretty much all month long. I have been pain free since then and I thank Dr. Cook from the bottom of my heart for the excellent job he did to repair and cleanup the mess that was my insides. I know the work was extensive, because the day after the surgery, the assistant surgeon said to me, boy you are tough, I expected you too be in bad shape after what they went through yesterday. LOL Thanks again Doc. Keep up the good work!
Saw this, and started to cry, this is very similar to my story. Prescribed pain killers right out of Middle School and now in early 30's. Going on my 4th surgery and more worried about the scar tissue than anything from my appendectomy and right hemi colectomy four years ago. Very encouraging post to see where you are in this process Monique! Dr. Cook, thank you for posting this and giving a bit of hope.
Dr. Cook did a VERY similar surgery for me in Nov. 2011 - almost 6 hours of extensive excisions! Also the best decision I ever made and worth every penny; it's priceless, honestly! I was stage 4 and he absolutely saved my quality of life (and kept me from ending up with a colostomy bag!) It's been 12 years since my hysterectomy and I'm still so much healthier and happier. I've been almost completely pain free, minus a little pelvic hypertension, but it's no big deal and his recent recommendation of Pelvic PT is totally curing it. I still think of Dr. Cook as one of the most important people who has ever entered my life and I am endlessly grateful for his expertise and warmth! The whole staff is amazing. It's so valuable to feel heard and cared for by your doctor!
A hysterectomy is a high price to pay though, even after your reproductive years. It's good to hear you are doing well. I would consider it only if my life depended on it. I've been living with stage 4 endo for ten years now and was in agony back then when it was diagnosed. But I said no when my doctor proposed to remove parts of my uterus, ovaries, bladder and colon and instead thoroughly cleaned up my diet and made some major lifestyle changes. Best decision ever.
I had wide excision of endometriosis via the Redwine Methods by one of your colleagues, Dr Nicholas Fogelson, in June 2019. I knew the endometriosis was gone within 1.5 weeks of surgery. Almost three years later I am still endo pain free. I have some adenomyosis pain since I elected to keep my uterus until my partner and I were done trying for children, but it's 1.5 days out of the month as opposed to the 5 it was before excision. The constant low grade nerve pain I had from endo, as well as my foot drop and scapular pain, have not recurred since surgery. Wide excision is truly the gold standard and for me was life-saving.
I began my (13) menses in 1983 starting having severe pains right away. I (16) began diving (swimming) and I was unofficially diagnosed then, but wouldn’t get an actual diagnosis (18) until 1988. I would go onto having many more surgeries, lost my (28) baby, had my tubes cauterized, had my (33) hysterectomy……did really well until (48) 2018, when severe pain started in my left pelvis. My doctor didn’t feel like it would be endometriosis since my uterus was gone, however, I pressed him into doing another surgery because my pain was too great. Dr.MB was shocked when he found endometriosis on my front pelvic wall with adhesions. Move to 2019 and I’m having extreme pain on my left pelvic area again…..can’t have surgery because of the pandemic 😢😢 2020 and restrictions were lighter, so I (50) had my left ovary removed. Eliminate wheat/gluten (pasta, white bread etc..), dairy, alcohol, coffee, processed foods and fried foods. Replace white rice with brown rice. Make sure your bread does not contain wheat and that it is gluten-free. Avoid anything that contains soy in the ingredients (super important). You may also need to cut back on meat depending on how much you eat. If you eat meat make sure it is non GMO/free of hormones. Whole foods has a lot of these options. All of this together within 26 days and the start of my next cycle was completely painless. This also has the potential to shrink fibroids naturally as well. P.S. You can make healthy delicious chocolate pudding with chia seeds, cacao powder, almond milk and organic honey!

@@ceciff1357 I have endometriosis (which I think is the same). Taken birth control only for three years from 19-21 and I'm 37 now. I do believe it is possible and it is because a number of women have healed themselves and my symptoms are getting a lot better after adjusting what I eat and my lifestyle. You do have to make time for these things. If I were you, I would go to a holistic/alternative health doctor where you can get a complete blood panel (you can't get this at a regular doctor). You can see what vitamins you are low on, where your hormone levels are at, check what foods you are intolerant to, check levels pertaining to thyroid, etc... (ask for all of this). Put all of your paper work in a 3 ring binder to make it easy for you to look back on and gather information as you do research on how you need to adjust to get everything in balance - then follow up with more blood work in 3 months time. You may have certain foods you are intolerant to specifically, for example, for me it was wheat, dairy, egg and corn..and I had no idea! These foods were adding additional inflammation to my body which were making symptoms worse. I also found that I was low on iodine, and iodine helps to get rid of excess estrogen in the body (don't take iodine though if you have hyperthyroidism). I also was low on vitamin D and vitamin D helps to balance hormones as well... so I bought supplements and made sure to to get an hour of sunlight each day. These are smaller things though. I think the main thing that will help you is adjusting the foods you eat, I think that's going to be your biggest help. Reduce your sugar spikes as much as you can by referring back to my first response... I would say that's the biggest thing to focus on and then the rest. Hope you the best and may God bless you 🙏

Book an appointment with a gynecologist to have it confirmed. If you do have it they might suggest the pill to control it, i'd recommend to start off like that but with time start researching into natural ways to heal it. Don't be scared, it's a tough journey but you'll get thru it 💛
Thank you so much Melissa I booked an appointment with a gynecologist and she confirmed that there was a chance I had endo so I will have to do a MRI which will confirm it but I have already been subscribed painkillers and hormonal controls not totally healed but way better then before thank so much teens like me need advice from people like you ❤️👍
@@Shuthefrontdoor hi Nessa. Please don't stay on birth control medication for all your life. It can impact on your body later in many different ways. Try to implement natural measures step by step to help decrease your symptoms such as decreasing your dairy, sugars and processed foods intake.
Book an appointment with and endometriosis specialist not a gynecologist they aren’t usually trained for those surgery’s get an MRI and an ultrasound done.

Please help. I am 32 years old and have 2 daughters. I found yesterday i found i have fibroids and endomyosis. I have been crying and do not eat surgery and hate being in pain. Please, if anyone knows anything.
@Natalie-sd3hn hi, thank you for taking the time to reply. Do you have adenomyosis ? If so ,how long have you had it for? Have you ever taken birth control, or are you currently on it? Is it possible to make it to menopause without surgery or birth control? Sorry for so many questions. I am trying to learn as much as i can about this disease. Thank you so much!

I had endometriosis and after having a hysterectomy I had no more pain.
Carnivore diet, no sugar low carbs to no carbs will help
My ultrasound shows that I have endo but I dont have most of the symptoms
This can happen. I think its called silent endo
@@carlyrowland1640 thanks will have to read up on it , but what is confusing for me is that when I did my previous ultrasound and also a MRI they say it was retroperitoneal absess
Same here. And after surgery i didn't even got pregnant yet
How did you get diagnosed without the symptoms if you don't mind me asking?
