    Lovely Yolanda! I would suggest always adding just a touch of the “background” color into small shadows of eyes, around nose, under chin/jawline, in hair, forehead, etc. As if she is sitting in the “air” around her! It unifies the portrait and contributes to 3-d effect. Nicely done! So bold of you to write “NOPE” on first attempt! Gives inspiration & hope for us all!

    It was a great lesson for all when you rejected your first try, showing that you do not compromise your end result. It also seems that a good quality of great teachers is that they don’t shy away from exposing their little insecurities. It opens the dialogue with the students and potentially making the learning process in both directions. Very nice video, thank you!

Years ago it would have been harder for me both to share my failures and to get rid of works that don’t go well because of the effort I had put into them. Now I find more valuable what I’ve learned from making a piece that the final artwork itself.

    Hmmmm.... There is also a beauty in finishing something you are not so comfortable with :) . I get what happened and I know the frustration , I have done the same thing quite few times , but if you went for it - you would learn so much and also discovered few things on the way . We would also enjoy and learn trough your pain and persistence :) . And I am sure the result would be beautiful , maybe not in the same way you are used to , but surely this would have been beauty ! :))))))) Having said that , you are doing so well and thank you for sharing !!! Beautiful work !!! :))))))))

    Wow. What an incredibly beautiful work of art. I never could get a handle on pastels. I lack the requisite patience lol.
    You also have a very melodious, very soothing voice.
    I tend to watch the art channels of artists who show as much of the process as possible. I don't like videos that are too sped up. It is necessary for works that take hours or days to complete, which I'm fine with. But the ones that put it on hyper speed actually make me nauseous. I love when artists interact. I love when they include music.
    I would definitely be interested to watch any videos that you care to post!

      Thank you so much Elisa! ❤️ I’m very glad that you enjoyed it and thank you for the feedback. since I began recording my voice I became quite self conscious and cringe at myself badly while editing haha
      I feel the same way about super fast pace videos, they almost give me anxiety. It’s a dilemma because lots of people nowadays prefer very short length content. I’m still debating about the one for this Sunday 😅

      There’s a reason they do it. A lot of these artists make a living, not by selling their work, but by teaching it through Patreon or other self-guided platforms. If they made real time content, they’re in essence giving away their techniques free. Can’t fault them for trying to make a living. I agree there are better editing choices than making people nauseous with ultra speed, like Yolanda who cut her footage into bite-sized sequences of the most important phases, but it is extremely difficult to keep hours of work into shareable video files with a low file-size.

    • @YolandaBlazquez
      @YolandaBlazquez  Год назад

      @@sadepennbrook that’s very right 🙏🏻 There’s also a difference approach depending on the platform, in RUclips most people want to be entertained while on Patreon they go to support you and to learn. I recently opened a Patreon account and have been sharing there everything, just today I posted a real time almost two hours long video tutorial. It takes a looong time an it really is work, we all have to pay bills.
