Her skin looks flawless and you make it look so easy. So wonderful to watch.
Thank you so much!
As a soft pastel artist, you’re making me want yo try oil pastels! Incredible result 🥳
Thank you so much! 🥰 I absolutely love soft pastels and I don’t feel they are too different, oil pastels are way messier though in my opinion
Is it hard to clean up? Like your fingers etc?
Gorgeous 💖💖❤
Thank you! 😊❤️
It's always so inspiring to watch you create your art and to watch it come together is so amazing. Beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Gorgeous and delicate, you keep the portraits very clean unlike me, my paws are all over the place! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for your comments ❤️ Mine get messy on the right side but I try to left it unfinished until I’m done with the rest because smudges tend to occur often there
I am a fan of yours from Turkey.❤ I love your work very much and have been following it for a long time. I had previously searched for your narrated videos on RUclips, but I could not find them. I am very happy that you informed us and made instructional videos for us without speeding up the videos.
I’m glad that it helps! ❤️ I try not to speed them up because I don’t find them to be very useful that way and also they feel more chaotic
You're so talented and inspiring, and in this war torn crazy world, hearing your lovely voice with the super pretty accent is a blessing. Bless you, Yolanda the artist.
You talk as if wars havent been happening for millenia lol, we live in a far better world than before, except the more deadly weapons
@@ΔεαΚ No, I don't talk that way, though I'm happy for you that you enjoy the feeling of thinking you made a good point. Sure, if we look at the normality experienced day to day, then things are better than most times before, but the stress is escalating on every front. Even if the various stupidities playing out now don't result in nuclea war or some other global calamity, we still face dwindling resources and overpoplation. Even with Musk's advances in energy use, something as simeple as drinking waer will eventually become scarce and that alone can put us back n track towards ass destruction.
Sorry if I seem aggressie, but I think you're objection to my happy little comment of appreciation was weirdly negative.
This really means a lot to me ♥️ I’m very self conscious of my voice and my accent and that’s why it took me so long to start sharing videos on RUclips. Have a lovely day!
And pollution 🙈
@@YolandaBlazquez I have an accent myself. I'm Norwegian. Many years ago I told a Canadian girl who lives here that I liked that I would like to get rid of my accent, and she told me "No, nothing is more boring than a Norwegian with no accent. You should keep your accent." The same goes for you. Your English is fluent and perfect and highly communicative, and your accent is pleasant and melodic. I'll be crying in the rain if you ever lose that accent. Have a lovely day you too.
Love your work mainly the effects you manage to make with your fingers. Excellent painting.
Thank you so much! I’m trying to emulate the way I paint with oils using a brush but doing it instead with my fingers ☺️
😊Thank you for your wonderful art videos. I was truly impressed by how smoothly and beautifully you express your art. I've subscribed to enjoy your work for a long time to come. Thank you.
My pleasure 😊 thank you so much! I hope you like them
Amazing video. Very beautiful Paintintg 😍😍
Thank you very much! I’m glad that you enjoyed it 😊
Excellent techniques 😊
Thank you so much 😊
The skin is perfect!👌😍 I don’t know how you do it! I love how you make it all come together to make a masterpiece
Thank you so much! ☺️ I tried to have a more clear color palette and not going overboard with too many different colors and I think it helped
You got a fan from a little island called Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. You inspired me so much. Art saved my life literally. Art is so beautiful and magnificent. It's love for me. I made admission for the school of arts, and in one week, I have my interview. Thank you so much for your beautiful art. Best wishes.
Thank you so much, I’m glad art can be that healing ❤️ que tengas mucha suerte con la entrevista!
Beautiful 🥰❤️
Thank you! ☺️♥️
your art and videos are so calming! ❤
Oh thank you! That’s encouraging ❤️
Ciao Yolanda! To melt oil pastels, you could use a slow cooking pot. You can also find silicone liners on the market that you can put inside the pot to keep the bottom of the pot clean.
Thanks for the tip! I will look for some silicone molds or something. I will try melting them using a double boiler on low 🤞🏻
Awesome 🎉🎉.
Thanks 🥰
Awesome advice.
Glad you think so!
Your skin tones are perfection!
thank you! ☺️
Superbe ! Belle technique ! Bravo !
💜💙💓💙💜💙💓💙💜
Thank you! ❤️❤️
Absolutely Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
your work is so inspiring ❤
I'm so glad! Thank you ❤️
You have so much talent! It’s perfect! To me, it’s so hard use oil pastel, my drawings come out a huge mess, but yours look like a painting! How long did you take to become that good? It’s so hard, I am about to give up 😢
Don’t give up ❤️ oil pastels are the hardest medium I’ve tried. I personally haven’t been using them for that long, like over half a year or so but I’ve been painting with watercolor, oils, digital and soft pastels for many years. All adds up and at the end they are not that different, you can do it!
Incrivel AMEI parabéns Yolanda❤
Thank you so much! I’m glad that you enjoyed it ☺️❤️
Such a wonderful painting. Love it. May I ask what would be the best paper to use with oil pastel?
Thank you! There’s no best paper, it depends on your preferences and technique. I personally prefer fine sanded papers that are usually marketed for soft pastel but many others prefer watercolor paper or other drawing papers. For sketches I like cheap printing paper the most.
@@YolandaBlazquez Thanks you so much for sharing your expertise. I really appreciate it.
Which Quality Paper sheet for Oil Pastel colour Potrait drowing???
Yolanda I have to ask. What paper stump do you use? That looked pretty large 😅
Haha I guess it is relatively large, a centimeter and something of diameter. The thin ones are too fine for rough blending large areas
Hi Yolanda, what kind of paper jou youse?
Karin
Very beautiful. What brand of crayons do you have?
Thank you 😊 these are mostly Sennelier and a couple of Neopastel
this is so beautiful. May i ask what paper you are using?
I use Pastelmat ☺️
💕💯🎨🎨🎨
Lindo ❤
Muchas gracias! 🥰
At least in some ways I'm similar to you: we sharpen our pastries the same way lol
Hahaha 😆 we all do
Hi how u became such best with pastel me 15 from India can I just have a talk to you for a 2 min guide please 😢
Don’t rush it 😊 I’ve been painting (in different mediums) for many years, it takes practice and time and you will get there.
@@YolandaBlazquez thanks ,for your motivating word,But did you attend any classes for this ,just asking🙂
I’m self taught ☺ anybody can do it @@shahnajara3406
They are not very expensive where I live 😕
@@YolandaBlazquez Ah, I understand, here in Brazil they are very expensive, I even wanted to buy them but it is completely unfeasible given the price, a box of 12 costs more than 700 reais.
where are you from?❤
From Spain 🙂
Absolutely beautiful! You make it look so easy, it’s very relaxing watching you draw, thank you for sharing
Thanks a lot! That’s always the case when you only see an edited video but it’s often tricky for me too ♥️
Do you reuse the scraps that you trim off while you sharpen? I wonder if you saved them if you can melt them together to make your own little sticks?
No but I should do it!
Hello! Congratulations on your work! I didn't know about this type of oil pastel. Is it possible to use those eraser pens to remove excess and make finer details like strands of hair?
This is extremely beauiful!!
I'm working with some oil pastels atm (I love them!) and your art inspired me!
Greetings from Brazil :)
Since you don't have Patreon anymore, would you put the full tutorials up here on your channel? We want to learn from you, very much. You don't have to put them all up, but one full tutorial would be so awesome. Wish we could pay for them.
So beautiful! What papers do you recommend?
Have you tried sennelier’s Naples Yellow?
Naples Yellow is a beautiful color but I don’t tend to use it as it contains cadmium yellow. I still want a lighter yellow anyway ☺️
Hmm this is interesting. I myself have been concerned about using the colours which have cadmium, cobalt etc in. There’s some lovely deep red shades in Senneliers I especially love that have toxic ingredients.... Is the general rule that as long as you don’t use fingers to blend and use silcone tool/paper stump instead, then those oil pastels would be safe to use? 🤔
@@sadiamahmood3742 in theory even if you use your fingers to blend with them they are safe because they are made in a way that these heavy metals can’t be easily absorbed through the skin. They even have the AP label on them and not the cautionary label. Buuut I’m still concerned about this because I touch my things while I paint, even though I’m careful I can’t avoid touching my camera or tripod and the oil pastels are very hard to remove from them and I have a little child that touches everything and still puts his hands on his mouth so I prefer to play it safe. I’m careful and clean as well as I can but I worry less if I use safer pigments to begin with. Cadmium and cobalt don’t bother me with traditional oils though because they don’t end up anywhere other than the canvas and brushes.
Excellent. ✨️🙏🏼✨️
Thank you! ☺
I was just wondering what paper you prefer to use to make these stunning artworks, they are truly gorgeous. 😊❤
Thank you 😊 I use Pastelmat
Yolanda, you are a world class artist. i'm new to your channel and am blown away by your talent. thanks for sharing your gift.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment! ❤️
Very lovely! The contrast between the young womand and the background looks great! I enjoyed seeing how you blended out her hair - so smooth! Oil pastels seem like such a great medium to paint hair. I'm still working on my first portrait in oil pastels and I'm still painting the skin of the face, but I'm looking forward to trying my hands (literally) on painting some hair soon!
Painting hair is SO much fun and so forgiving compared to painting the face. It almost feels like you can’t mess it up and I hope you enjoy it too! Thanks a lot!
Thank you for sharing this. You are greatly appreciated.
You are so welcome ❤️ thank you
Need a beautiful light warm white? Try Holbein’s Yellow Hansa professional grade oil pastel👍👋😊
🙈 believe it or not I haven’t tried my Holbeins yet! I have that yellow too, thank you for the suggestion ❤️
Why only portrets.. i think ill be so sad and unhappy to only paint one thing..
But if this makes you happy its ok.
But i could never
Yeah me too but portraits it’s what I share the most because “algorithms”. In my last video I talk about this. That’s also why I switch mediums, because I get bored.
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Wowww so talented! Please, What do you use to blend big surface? I dont have the name....kisses from France
Thank you! That’s a paper stump or blending stump. It’s commonly used to blend charcoal or pencils ☺️
@@YolandaBlazquez oh my god!!! Really!!!! 😱😱😍😍😍😍🙏🏾🙏🏾 thank you so much!!
New Sub Here👍
Thanks for subbing! ❤️
It sounds like your hands are getting a little beat up with the smoothing. Am wondering if either a thicker barrier cream would help or if there was another tool that could do the bulk of the work? I know the warmth is key to those smooth transitions
I’m not sure such cream exists, gloves help a lot with the scrubbing but if I paint for long periods of time using them then my skin doesn’t like it either 🙈 What I have to make sure I do is to pile on layers of clothing so I don’t get cold and my hands are warmer, that really makes a difference
Hello Yolanda, your portraits are so true to life!! Each colour you put on canvas feels so real. Truly you have magic in your hands!!
Wow, thank you ♥️ but anybody can do it with enough practice
You are my inspiration Yolanda, you are truly gifted and your shows bring a moment of peace and harmony 🥰
This is so nice of you to say, thank you so much! 🥰
is there anyway to save the pieces you cut off during sharpening?
I think you could potentially save them all and melt them together to form a new stick once you have enough of them
I would like to see you melt oil pastels! You could melt other brands and keep the sennelier ones since theyre so expensive
If I do it I’ll definitely record it! I actually want to do it with Sennelier’s because they have the richest consistency and go over any others easily.
Thank you! I’m glad that you liked it ❤️
Thank you! ❤️❤️
Colour brand name???? 😍
Sennelier and Neopastel ☺️
I love your work😍
I’m glad that you like it! ❤️
Lovely
Thank you 😊
Amazing
Thank you!
Please share with me your oil pastel color company name
I use Sennelier and Neopastel the most but also Mungyo gallery
@@YolandaBlazquez okay thank you so much ma'am 🙏
Can i draw an painting like your painting by that any oil pastel?
The finish you’ll get will depend on your technique but also very much by the consistency of the pastels since you can find them from soft and buttery to pretty hard and crayon like
@@YolandaBlazquez okay ma'am 😊
Your videography is improving with each video! Love watching them ❤
It is! I hope she keeps it up but at the same time it never stops me from watching her videos! They're so good! I love her style of art! 🥰😍
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you ❤️
Thanks a lot ☺️ I’m trying to improve the way I record, so glad somebody noticed!
Very lovely. You have a superior art skill with Oil Pastels.

Very much appreciated! ❤️
Gorgeous work and skin tones! Your video is very nice. The information is helpful and your delivery is relaxing and genuine, no apologies needed. 💕
That’s so nice of you to say, thank you very much! 🥰
At first she made me think of Elsa, don't kill me 🙈 (I'm saying this a an Elsa fan). The easel looks so nice, perfect for your beautiful paintings 🥰
Love Elsa 😆 she kinda resembles her! Thank you ❤️❤️
LOVE the color scheme, so amazing! Thanks for sharing
I’m glad that you like it! 🥰
Please be careful if you decide to make your own shades, make sure you are in a well ventilated space and don't heat any toxic pigments.
That said, I would think a lipstick mold might work when you are ready to form the pastels.
Be sure to let us know how it goes and if it changes the consistency :)
Absolutely! Thank you for caring ☺️ I avoid toxic pigments as well. I thought about the molds people use to make homemade lip balms! I should really take a look.
Your 'bye-bye' makes my heart flutter ❤❤
🙈❤️
so nice 😍❤
