Hello!! Have started watching your channel and also tried some dishes :-) Question- Do I use the same steps for making white beans?? Or will the steps and ingredients used be different?
Ani Joseph ...yes, The only thing I changed is white pepper instead of black pepper only because I want my beans to remain white. Thanks for watching my channel
So Sorry For Your Loss, Can Get The Full recipe ? And Where Can We Get The Pure coconut From? Can We Find It At Walmart? Also How Long should We keep The black bean cook for before we blend it? After we blend it how long do we cook it for? Please and thank you
BeanTown Pretty93 ... yes, you can purchase the pure coconut from Walmart, it is usually next to the Jamaican items. I cooked beans about 1 1/2 hour on low heat until they were very soft.
Annette, this is delicious. Can you show us how to make the red bean sauce? Should I follow the same ingredients that in this black beans recipe? Which bean would you recommend?
I strained the ones I blended to remove the residue from the beans. I remove the residue because I want the final product to have a smooth consistency. I didn’t strain the the other batch of cooked beans because they were whole.

You said it all "nice & simple ". Too much seasonings in the black bean sauce defeats the purpose. This recipe is simple and authentic and so you get the full flavor of the bean since it's not being overpowered by too much seasoning. This is what makes sos pwa so special...otherwise, what's the point?
What is destroying the protein, fiber iron, and vitamins are boiling the beans. Straining it doesn’t cause you to lose the nutrients. Straining it is optional! I strain it for a smoother consistency!!

Why is coconut milk added? And is it needed?

When ever I add an ingredient to a dish , its for flavoring. It’s optional!
Do you boil the whole time with no pot covering?
