GT500 Supercharged FG XR8 - Drag Strip on Slicks
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 сен 2024
- We meet Max in his XR8 (super at the drags and lend him some Mickey Thompson ET street R drag radials after his last attempt resulted in wheelspin. Galaxy in his silver FPV GT was running respectable low 13's on street tyres, Mike with his new ISF rattled off a decent 13.2 in his stock ISF considering the weather too. DVS45_Racing was having issues but still in the 12's in his SS.
Bring on 2022, we might even see the Gap Sauce GT see a few upgrades and go deeper into the 11's!
Thanks for watching!
Cheers,
Blake.
Thanks for everyone who liked and commented on my last couple of videos, you really drove the algorithm up for me.. We are growing 😁❤
Hell yeah bro!

@@tturi2 Interesting 🤔 there is so much to it. It's interesting watching RUclips broaden the audience and the click thru rate drop and rise over and over. You need those click bait nation geographic thumbnails 😅
It’s okay guys, I’m planning on heading back out in the new year, gotta update my helmet spec and do some tiny upgrades. I would’ve loved it if the night went to plan 🤣 but here’s to 2022 💪🏼
Look forward to see your beastie run in January 💪
Getting a few meetings each month by the looks in the new year 👍
@@SouthernCrossMotors for sure mate! 💪🏼
Yeah hopefully no storms next time around haha
You keen on upgrading your cams in the future?
Mike, it would be a good race between your ISF and Max's ute 🤔
Howdie 👋 what lower intake manifold are you using with the GT500 supercharged? I'd love to put a similar setup on my BF Mk2 XR8
God damn you gotta love that sweet whine of a supercharger 👌
It's very nice isn't it! 🙂
Great video as always - and let's definitely get that ute back on the drags trip!
Cheers Melvin 🙂
Hey bro, love the sounds of the V8s through headphones mean as! We don't get many storms like that here in NZ, been in a few over there on holiday though, your car is a beast, great to see you giving a helping hand, keep up the good work!👍👍
Hey Derek, thanks for watching mate. We are very lucky and sometimes unlucky to have storms like this in QLD. You have stunning landscapes over there though too! I definitely need to make a trip after all.. I'm half Kiwi.. but dont tell the Aussies 😉😅
Haha! Sure thing mate, once this covid thing settles down, we'll be back over to visit family and friends on the sunshine coast, so looking forward to that!😁😎👍
@@GapSauceRUclips haha I knew it.. - that's why you are humble & respectful brother. Cheers! Love your vids cos I have a BA2 GT-P too , keep up the great work mate
@@derekramsay6940 Ooh nice, it's beautiful up there! Hopefully it isn't too long!
@@sykcnt8012 Thanks Denis! I love the GTP's and I actually really love the factory GTP wheels!
Great video and night. Shame about that storm. I just got home and it hit hard.
Thank you so much for the mention too. 🙏🙏
Got the tune loaded and intake done. Dyno on the 22nd.
You videos are way better than mine. Much to learn I have 🤣😂
Cheers Mike, it was great to see the new ISF get its baseline pass in, she's beautiful. Im slowly learning, it's taking time with the editing 😅 but thanks! Keen to see the results on the 22nd!
That storm man, I was driving through it to Orion like fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.......Epic!
Oh no, you didn't get any hail on the turbo did you?
@@GapSauceRUclips HAHA nah was driving the misso's volvo. I'll send you the vid lmao.
Lovin the content Blake. I’m in the middle of planing out a build on my 65 XP falcon sedan…. Lucky enough to find a very low km wrecked XR8 boss 260 Ute. The 5.4 Should be very nice in 1100kg XP sedan 👍👌👌 , I’m using a castle main XP front end , this allows you to remove the suspension towers so it will fit easy. Fun times ahead 👍😎😎
Thanks mate, that sound absolutely awesome. That thing will be a rocket! Definitely keep us updated!
Niiiice very nice. Love your work bro. These videos are getting better and better each and every time
Thanks for the support mate!
Great video as always
Good to see car guys helping each other out
My NPC clutch is being rebuilt now
Hopefully back soon
Thanks mate, I pulled my NPC out today.. had an usual failure 🤔 Which NPC option did you go with? Mine is the coppermix organic
@@GapSauceRUclips
285mm twin plate copper/ organic
I was pretty happy with it
Just ripped a couple of buttons off doing 0-100’s
Not quite down to the rivets but time for a reco
@@danielash9834 That's not good, mine was a spring locator failure. Very odd, never seen it.
Geez mate the lightshow is sweet! Hope things are well your end mate!!
It was awesome, I absolutely love a good storm! Thanks Matt, same to you and your family 🙂
Nice vid man. Shame Max didn’t get any more runs and didn’t get to see the log. Hopefully he can get back out and we can see what that thing is capable of.
Yeah I’m keen to see what it’s true potential is! The first run proved that but it’ll take me time to adjust as this car is set up predominantly for roll racing bring on next year, and here to showing it’s true pace
Thanks Chop! Maybe you can race him next time 😉
Manuals are definitely better suited to rolls.
Would def be up for a race. Hopefully mine should be sorted for next year
💯% love a good storm.. i enjoyed the hail we got for the 1st day of summer 😆😆😆
I saw that, hopefully there wasn't any damage?
@@GapSauceRUclips xr8 lost the belt moulds on both sides. New ones ready to go on. B series and pooey survived without a mark lol.
Another great video mate !
Thanks mate!
Try loading the stick up Pryor to changes and double clutch. If that’s not an option. You need to feed it a bit more before releasing after you change. Both of these methods help iron out your changes and prevent her bogging down so much.
I love the preload on the gearstick, seems to work for me 🙂
Your production value is getting better man
Apart from filming half of this with my phone which had its stabilisation turned off. It came out alright, thanks Tristan 🙂
Hey Mate good video as always ,it was so hot out there that day . Good to see you, i'll be back in January hope its a bit cooler but might have to wait for winter for that
Good to see you too mate! Did you best the 13.3? And did you pick up any in the 60' or mph with the 4:11's?
I'll see you at the strip in January! Might even have to get some footage of the beast 😉
*sounded like it hooked up without any wheelspin through every gear…impressive* 👌🏼
Sure did! No wheel spin or axle hop which is a plus 👌🏼
These ET street R's are very very sticky 🙂
All gd mate happy to help 😀
nice work mate
Thanks for watching Theo 🙂
Good stuff man 🤙
Cheers Beavis, good to see you back again 😁
I’d like to think that Ute should run a high 10.. keen for next one
It takes alot to go into the 10's as a manual. I think it may have an 11 in it on a cold day with more seat time. Will take a 1.80 60ft at least I think.
👍
Nice
Cheers I30N man!
Would’ve expected MPH to be a lot higher than that. How much power it making?
Didn’t help I was short shifting in my only run for the night, was getting a feel for it on slicks. It’s making 400kw, cars capable of mid 11’s but with more seat time the MPH will be much higher
Max probably lost a few mph to the shortshift. Manuals suck the mph right out of you unfortunately.
Superchargers need to be heard. Try take some footage from around half track so we get to hear that sweet blower whine for a few seconds! Old design pre TVS blowers howl hard! Rubbish efficiency though, can't have it all.
If we had more runs that was definitely the plan mate! I love the whine!
Hey mate how are you? Are you taking the GT to WB Sat ?
Hey mate, I'm good. Been flat out, unfortunately working this Saturday so won't be racing. GT is back together though 🙂 Are you heading down for a run?
@@GapSauceRUclips Yep i will be there
Comment for the algorithm
Thanks Jordan! 😁
Gaps put ya wheels back on ya car 😁!!please
Haha, I'll need them come winter 🙂
Hey Mate Max has a nice ute,one your vids you said you looking for a dyno,i have a dyno and looking for a guy to tune,if interested how can i get in touch with you
Hi mate, GapSauce349@gmail.com would be the best way to contact me.
Cheers, Blake.
@@GapSauceRUclips hmmm this could be good for what we have planned!
Hi Melvin,
I had a chat with Colin and I would love to be a part of what you are doing in any capacity. Just let me know when I can come meet you or chat on the phone, I'm keen 🙂. I currently work full time but I'm open to change to pursue my passion.
Regards,
Blake.
@@GapSauceRUclips we better pull put fingers out to do the video on my car 😂 I have a need to have the upgrades fitted before the middle of February
I swear it's almost a rule that there must be at least 4 leaky pieces of shit at every test and tune.
Honestly I would do scrutineering for free to check over cars before they are allowed on the track.
Also I think there should be like a 6 month automatic suspension for car and driver if you oil down on a test and tune.
Haha, there have been 4 occasions in the last 18 months where the car directly infront of me oiled up or sent metal all over the track.
One of them had me sliding the rear around at near 150mph at top track on the bike even after they cleaned it 😅 sketch.
I also busted my diff and oiled the start line once 😅
@@GapSauceRUclips 6 months for you!!
@@Rollin8.0 🤣
They need some more driving advice gap. Its not a traffic light run or a roll race
To be fair it was Max's first time on drag radials. I'd say it would have a low 12, maybe a high 11 with more seat time 🙂
@@GapSauceRUclips Yep, I don't mean it in a negative way its always good to get as much advice as possible for the track. Cheers.
@@adami2140 oh for sure mate, I'm always open to advice, as soon as we stop accepting it, we stop learning 🙂
Algorithm comment of peace.
Thanks Andrew 🙂
