    Understandably the owner of the STI was devastated with the damage caused by the oil filter spewing oil onto the hot exhaust, but thankful to the awesome people who stopped on track to help. It's great to see the community looking after each other. Stay safe guys!

    No real carnage this time 👍

    Wow. Lots of dramas. Hope old mate’s Subie is OK and not too damaged.
    Bummer about your car. Wonder if a bearing collapsed in the diff? Hope it is an easy fix. This may have been caused by the tail shaft failure as well.
    Got the new plugs in and hope to work on my reaction times this Friday. Getting a big update to the exhaust on the Lexus next month. True dual.

      @GapSauceYoutube  3 года назад

      Oh awesome, I'm patiently waiting for the exhaust video update! Could be the bearing but more likely an issue with the centre or even a cv. His Subie was likely a write off, it was in pretty bad shape unfortunately.

    If only these rear end problems could be cured with some ointment and a comfortable pillow, but in the end im sure youl work it out, all the best Mr Sauce, great uploads and GT.

      Yeah, it made me less sad about my diff. Although it didn't really upset me because I still had an awesome morning looks like the truetrac has had an issue. I'll post up what's going on when I know more 🙂

    Why oh why didn't Ford Australia put a 9inch diff in the back of the XR8/GT Falcons? Nothing but hassles with the multi bushed irs rear end, my XR8 has vibration, wobble etc, love to know if a 9inch conversion is possible or even a old Mustang 8 3/4

    • @damienfokkema6963
      @damienfokkema6963 3 года назад +1

      the diffs in the xr6t and xr8s have an 8.8inch crown wheel so its not that much smaller than a 9inch

    • @GapSauceYoutube
      @GapSauceYoutube  3 года назад +1

      It definitely is possible, they are heavy though. It wasn't the diff that broke fortunately.

    Hi Blake.
    Sorry you had bad luck again.I have the silver BA GT manual .
    We met at test and tune in August , when you changed throttle body and plenum did you need to change intake pipe or anything else?
    Did it run straight away without a tune?Anything else i need to know about this mod? I hope to be at next test and tune that is on a Saturday Cheers.

    • @GapSauceYoutube
      @GapSauceYoutube  3 года назад

      Hi mate! How did you go? I caught you going past on the straight a few times from put lane, sounds awesome!
      I used a boss315 intake elbow from Ford, the throttle body is from VMP Performance and obviously plenum from Yella Terra.
      I don't believe the gains for a street car are worth the money you pay for the full setup but I needed it for my future plans. I want to develop a better unit in the future but I'd recommend just going a spacer and half shafting and knife edging the factory 75mm for best bang for buck.

    Hey mate you may need to look at a modified diff if you’re gonna continue to race a drag your ba . stock running gear as you know is not designed for constant abuse , diff , drive shaft now diff again ? Is that the right count ?

    • @GapSauceYoutube
      @GapSauceYoutube  3 года назад +1

      Hi mate, it's a near new Truetrac centre with genuine Dana 4.11's. Still under warranty, not sure what has happened this time.
      And yes, stock centre let go. Then tailshaft a year later but it was a donut failure. This is definitely more minor this time.
      But yes, upgrading is the best way to go.
