Are Water to Air Intercoolers Worth it? FPV 335GT

  • Superchargers, or "heat pumps" get a bad wrap for their inefficiencies in regards to charge temp and air density, especially factory units that are spinning beyond their manufacturers' intentions. Bretts' GT has been extensively tested pre-intercooler with notable decline in pace for each successive pass (without reasonable cooldown time). So we ventured out to Willowbank Raceway in QLD, Australia to hot lap this setup into heat-soak.. Did it work? You will have to watch the video to find out.
    Like and Subscribe, there will be more testing to come! Let me know what you would like to see in the comments below and we can try and make it happen.
    Cheers Brett!
    Thanks for watching as always,
    Blake.

    Update: Brett went 11.3@123 later in the night for an equal PB which was originally achieved in the dead of winter and near perfect conditions! I'd call that a win, what do you think?

    • @brettwarren3429

    Would like to see the run between the barra and Gt, whether one pulled out faster whether one was chasing down the other. At which point do they perform best!. My guess is pulls hard a end of track.

    • @GapSauceYoutube
      @GapSauceYoutube  2 года назад

      From memory the Gt was quicker off the mark and the Barra ran it down at the line, the Barra obviously has an upgrade turbo and intercooler etc, so a few more mods than the GT.

    • @bears2604
      @bears2604 2 года назад

      @@GapSauceRUclipsthanks for your reply. I have a problem not sure what to do! I have a Gt ( nitro blue fg 335 same as your friends) and a xr6, I have to get rid of one. I see as in the video I posted on this comment section, that a barra is faster over the quarter with the same or less power. I'm not sure but that reason sort of sways me to keeping the barra, I am not able to make a decision can you give me some input, what would you do? Say both cars same value or $$$ being irrelevant? How many kw does this barra have compared to Gt in vidoe ? ruclips.net/video/CUU0eGyLBoI/видео.html

    • @GapSauceYoutube
      @GapSauceYoutube  2 года назад +1

      @@bears2604 Races on the street come down to who has more traction. Brett's 335 is running 11.30@123-124mph with only a tune. An FG F6 with tune only will likely be low 12s@115-118.
      Barra's are an amazing platform but the Coyote if you already have one is better for power.
      335GT will be worth alot more in years to come too.
