Well the forecast for this area next week only has 2 days without rain - weds and thurs. So I will be at Princeton Jct on weds from early till late. Would like to catch some night trains like you did here. Great job! If you see a guy with camera on tripod, say hi.
what was the little slow yellow one? looks like they were inspecting the overheads. Which at 0100 would make sense, make sure everything is in top shape before the morning commutes have full trains on the rails.
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !!! You even captured the Catenary Machine in action !!! This is why I love ❤️ comin to the NEC every year on my vacation, train 🚂 action nonstop !!!!
They’ll eventually be apart of the Amtrak Airo sets which will be ALC42Es. They’re replacing the current regional trains. Basically the engines will be the ALC42 that’s being used already, but have the capability to hook up to a car with a pantograph, or in this case another engine, so it doesn’t rely on diesel power.
I don’t get how they test these engines tho. Like do they have be on the NEC to test then after they finish testing they transfer the engine, alc42, off the NEC to somewhere else? I’m sorry I’m just confused .
NEC is the only place outside of TTCI in Pueblo that they can max out the ALC-42 to its top speed. They’re also testing the control systems on other Chargers and the ACS-64 because the Airo powered business car and cab car will use the same systems.
8:32 is insane
Especially the comet IV cab car at the end
Still waiting for the alc-42e set to unveil itself
I just saw one in service headed northbound in Chesapeake VA which stops in Norfolk
Great catch! I've always seen ALC42s stored at Philly or Wilmington, but I haven't seen much footage of them actually testing on the NEC.
W content as always, you should do more night content! It'd be interesting to see what keeps the NEC alive during the night.
Awesome catch of the ALC-42!
Very nice work!
Good stuff! I hope the ALC-42 ends up visiting Sunnyside sometime this week!
