    I'm heading to Princeton tomorrow morning to catch Avelia TS3 on the return trip to Philly. It'll be following Acela #2155, so I'm expecting TS3 to come through around 11:30ish.
    So excited for this, I had to convince a coworker to take my shift so I could see it for the first time!
    I was there yesterday too to see the Acela at 150 and even managed to have an encounter with the Catenary Maintenance and Track Geometry Amfleets!

    10:49 funny how it says 25K on the front but 12K on the side. They must have forgotten to change the sticker on the front when they brought it to corridor service.
    I know they can't change between the 25Kv 60Hz on the fly, but they have a switch either under the car or on the pantograph that needs to toggled in order to change voltages.

    • @lukebaumann8618
      @lukebaumann8618 2 года назад +1

      Yes, actually most of the old trains in this video are scheduled to be replaced over the next 5 years (however since this is America, and the pandemic, the replacements are in some cases running late. And they still probably won’t be as nice as German trains).
      The NJ transit single level coaches that are very old looking will be replaced with Bombardier double decker EMUs and coaches over the next 3-5 years
      The Amtrak regional passenger coaches will be replaced over the next 5-7 years with Siemens Venture coaches
      These have both been budgeted/contracted and manufacturing is proceeding
      The Acela train sets are being replaced with Alston Avelia Liberty (similar-ish to TGV). 3 have been delivered so far but due to various issues encountered during testing they won’t be in revenue service for a year or so

      こんにちは、私はアメリカの都市計画家です。 アメリカでは、電車は車よりも役に立たないと考えられており、電車は日本に比べて政府から受け取るお金や財源が少ない。 米国には信頼できる列車サービスのない多くの都市があり、車は人々の唯一の選択肢です。 幸いなことに、ニュージャージーにはアメリカで最高の列車がいくつかありますが、それでも日本やヨーロッパとの適合性は良くありません。
