A great video demonstrating what it takes to get these fiber lines to homes. My dad in the 1980s worked on connecting telecom exchanges with fiber in Japan. I showed this video to my dad now that he is out of the industry. We enjoyed it.
Lumos Fiber just started this process in our neighborhood and we just got the door tag that when they are done we can get it in our house. I cant wait when we upgrade from cable to Fiber. :D
yes all perfect until a car jumps the curb and takes out the fibre pedestal. On my street all the street connections are done in a cabinet/box with the top of the box flush with the ground, looks like a lawn sprinkler distribution box but it has the fibre lines inside it.
Yup same here in NY buried gets covered same way for major Telco here. Only buildings and outlier runs get spliced when needed. Aerial on poles all plug/screw in terminals. Even terminals are plug in as need in some areas.
Thanks for sharing the fiber-to-the-home process; your work is meticulous and responsible.

I would need a way longer run coming into basement of fiber back to my office computer.
They don’t dig that deep in Milwaukee lol. I submit drop buries all the time, and the coax and fiber is barely under ground lol
