- In today’s acrylic painting tutorial we paint a a number of small galaxies out in space with a big colorful nebula full of stars. This space painting lesson is done in real time and will cover the step by step process of how to paint stars, the galaxy and space. Acrylic Paints:
Ultramarine Blue, Mars Black, Titanium White, Cadmium Red Light Hue, Cadmium Red Medium Hue, Naples Yellow
Brushes:
¼” round pointed brush, 1/8” round pointed brush, 1” flat headed brush
Those specific sizes and brushes aren’t require, you can use other options. They are just what I preferred to use in the moment.
Other Materials:9X12 inch canvas, A small dish for water, Paper towel for excess paint

Thank you for the emphasis on layering. I never understood that before. After watching you build your layers it became apparent why it is critical to take the time to build layer upon layer. There is so much more depth to the painting. I also really appreciated the emphasis you placed on blending and glazing. It was also helpful that you had a couple mishaps and explained what caused it and how to correct it. I love the ✨. I have chosen to start Painting. I used to draw but I haven't attempted drawing in years, sadly I allowed life's Issues to get in my way.

Nebulas are one of my most favorite objects in the universe. The birthplace of the stars. Thank you for the wonderful techniques on how to accomplish this in a painting.

I haven't tried this yet, but I already love what I've seen. I love that you actually explain what you're doing and even list the types of brushes you're using. Most tutorial videos, especially those labeling themselves as beginner videos, don't do any of that.

hehe love the "i just let the acrylic dry on the palette" thing. I do too! hehe. sometimes i really poke the dry outer part and find some wet paint under it :D
