TAP,TAP,TAP!!! I have painted for over 40 years. Without any formal, lessons. This has been one of the best teaching tool I have ever been privileged to have avable to me. Even tho disabled 20 yrs. I paint every day. You are the best. Especially your commentary throughout throughout. Going to do this. I am 81 yrs. Thank you so much for everything! Diana
I'm not even an artist or a painter of any kind I just thought that this was very mesmerizing to come and watch so thank you for sharing your artistic ability and calming my nerves.
wow I cant believe you are sharing each stroke of the painting !!! And explaining the whys and hows. lm acrylic painter myself and am learning so much .
I just found your channel! I'm 40 and decided recently I want to learn to paint! I'm a creative person and I've always done random things but this always scared me. You are by far one of the best teachers I've found on YT. Thank you so much for showing us your passion for painting. You can tell you're excited about what you do which makes the biggest difference. Can't wait to watch and learn more! 😊
Just wanted to say, this has helped my painting. I'm watching this while my Mom's dying of cancer, partially to calm down to go back to sleep when it's hard for me to rest (I keep expecting bad news so I sort of jump up). But, one thing I've been doing, to make her happy (since there's not much else I can do), I've been getting back into art. I find it cathartic, and she likes to see it. Anyway, I went back to one of my old standbys, painting an iris onto a background of a pretty flat background of watercolor or pastel. WELL. Usually, I've dreaded running out of a color because I was awful at mixing. And since I don't have a ton of money to spend on a ton of paint, I stress over adding more and more to even things out. But after watching a few of these videos, in little sips, I've gotten way better. Just the way you go about it clicked, and at one point when I found myself flummoxed in making a new tone with my limited options, I realized the one brown I actually had would help a lot! Better than using black and also desaturating, but also adding a bit more warmth into the hue, which I wanted for part of a leaf and the stem. I don't know, but just something about your method clicked in a way other stuff didn't, and instead of a lot of rules to remember, which stress me out, it's allowed a sort of freedom and looseness that other things haven't really... promoted. This way I'm not stressing out as much, making me want to go back more easily. And right now, when something with a relaxed focus is very welcome, that means a lot. I appreciate it, and am looking forward to learning more.
Amara, i did the exact same thing, watching this video while my bestfriend died of cancer 1 year ago today. There is such peace in art. I'm sorry about your mom. Keep painting and remember the joy your mom got from seeing your art. Keep tap tap tapping Away. Never give up
I pray for miraculous healing in Jesus name. Never give up. You never know what God is desiring to do. I’ve seen people in stage 4 bounce back to total remission. Be encouraged beloved.
Beth Buhler There really is something calming about these, isn’t there? I guess in times of trauma we’re really drawn to things that help center us. I’m sorry about your best friend, and I hope in time you’ll be able to think back on all the fun without being sad that those times are over. My mom passed away a few days after I posted this, I think. It was a really horrible time, because she was on the verge for a few weeks and was suffering, and we couldn’t really do anything to help in a significant way. At this point we’re still kind of... just recovering, but happy that she’s not suffering like that anymore. Suffering without a purpose is the worst. I’ve decided the first painting I finish will be for my Dad, of my mom’s favorite flower, on a watercolor wash background, and the second will be for my future mother-in-law, who’s been so supportive. That way I can have this cathartic art process, but the final products will have meaning for the people who get them. Thanks for replying, Beth, and I hope that you are and stay well. 🌷
Tap tap tap! You have helped me take my painting skills to the next level. Thank you for everything you do. Please don’t stop making these videos. I’m gonna try to cover all your tutorials!
What an extraordinary learning experience!!! Thank you Ryan for giving of your Art, of your expertise, of your beauty...and magic ...I'm In a position in my life that doesn't allow me to start a class...in this was a dream come true!!! Virtual hug!!!
I surprisingly enjoyed this video. I usually get tired(makes me very angry when that happens, happens a lot) when i'm painting. Right now i have been painting for an hour and 25 minutes and am still very excited about holding my brush and putting in a new color to my painting. This is incredible. I'm grateful and not feeling dizzy when i look at my painting. That's awesome news And i'm not even following your painting, just listening your voice and watching your process.
An absolute gorgeous painting! Every time I watch one of your tutorials I pick up so much..I love love love that you do everything step by step and close up, being mindful of where you place your hands to avoid obscuring the view. Tap Tap Tap! Thank you Ryan for everything you do, a true Master of your craft.👍🏻😁

U have got to be one of the absolute best teachers i have ever found on any platform. Ryan, I started painting with acrylics just a couple,of months ago. I found your channel, and subscribed (I can't afford to be a patron, sadly). I've done a few of your 10 minute paintings (which took me several hours to complete, lol). I have also completed some of your latest tutorials, in the new format, which took me 4 days to complete. I thought I would take a look at some of your earlier stuff and I will certainly be giving this a go in the next few days.
