I'm watching out of order but I'm attempting to binge the whole channel at split second. Those sleeves are legit my whole lgs loves them and they are a hit!
lots of people saying about the second green mana, but actualy he can loop into infinite Green too with Lotus petal so, he misplayed, but it doesn't change the results glad to see you back guys!!
Game one, I wonder why Stephen didn't counter the removal on aven mind-censor with his hermit in response to the treasure generation? Magda had an urza's saga about to pop, and would gain 6 treasures, which is all she needed to tutor up the combo.
I'm gonna need a Judge at 23:05 cause the Gitrog draw trigger from channeling boseiju causes him to draw a card when the library is empty. Sure you discarded the titan, but i'm going to say that was after the missed trigger so... I am the real winner of this game. XD Great job Higher!
for the people not getting with Adam (and then Noah) didn't block the Dwarven Grunt in game 3. we knew Gardner had a Galvanic Blast in hand so I'm guessing he wanted Adam to block with Drannith so he could kill it with that Galvanic Blast (notice Gardner also attacks with the 1/1 spirit) I'm also assuming Adam knew or figured Gardner had something up his sleeve and didn't block (which imo was the correct play) Magus then entered and made all non basic mountains making the Grunt unblockeable 😀
Maybe I am wrong but in game 3 why Stephen didn't activate thrasios ability? It's costs 4 colorless even if the blood moon is on the battlefield. At least he may did something or did he waiting having 1 mana for Fierce Guardianship( sphere was on the field)?
It felt like the narrator was too excited about everything so I didn’t know what to be excited about. Like the narrator had the same, very excited for voice for Ishai getting a trigger, someone ending their turn, or a game winning thoracle play
well since all of the attacks went in Adam's way and considering Gardner had a Galvanic Blast in hand, I'm thinking Gardner wanted Adam to block with Drannith so he could kill it with Galvanic Blast. I'm guessing Adam knew Gardner had some kind of trick up his sleeve and didn't block (which imo was the correct play here)
I've always wondered, but with the prevelance of the thoracle win combo being off of a triggered ability, and the use of a lot of legendary creatures, and commanders as combo pieces in CEDH, Why do i never see Tale's End used in deck lists that have blue, or run a reasonable number of counterspells? It stops Thoracle Win lines, and pretty much any other win line that relies of activated or triggered abilities, like Kiki-Jiki, and it counters Planswalkers and Commanders at worst for two mana, or one blue mana at instant speed if you have a cost reducer. So what makes Tale's End a not CEDH Staple?
More concise answers to thoracle that fall into this category are Angel's grace and trickbind since they cant be responded to. However these cards are extremely narrow. It's important to note cards in 4 instances of the game known as the quadrant theory. There are 4 places in a game, when developing, ahead, at parity, and behind. When you're developing tale's end is super narrow and doesnt halpe. When you're ahead, you would rather have a card that pushes towards winning. When you're a parity, countering a commander may help sometimes. And when you're behind, using counterspells to try to police is not great. Basically considering these 4 states can help determine the usefulness of cards in the meta
Another factor is that counterspells are already pretty tight in commander, why not just run the better 1 mana counters or use the 2 mana counters that are less narrow/put you farther ahead
Most people play dress down for this reason. Dress down is much less narrow and can stop a lot of creature combos, not just thoracle. It also cantrips so there is that as well. As to why not tales end, it’s just too narrow for what it does, and usually just turns into “counter target commander” which can be good, but doesn’t justify a slot in most decks.
That Magda win-con confuses me, using Memory Jar means each other player draws 7 cards at a time until they deck themselves right? Doesn’t this mean they could hit free interaction that could affect the game? Or even a split-second spell? Thanks for any clarification… I am probably missing something!
Magna isn't recasting any spells so the free counters don't work. I think it basically relies on hoping your opponents don't draw force of vigor + green card in a 7 and less people are playing mogg salavage nowadays. I do agree that the wincon doesnt seem super deterministic
Gitrog monster combo might look cool when you hear it narrated like that, but I am sure irl it takes 20 minutes to explain the whole process like ur some kind of yu gi oh protagonist
In game 2, does anyone understand running Tevesh into a serra ascendant? I guess there could have been political backstabbing or something here, but...
Um actually... the Gitrog Monster is the objectively worse target for demonic consultation... should have been "Abandon Hope" hehehe Also that magda deck is sick!
i wonder why ishai didnt hardcore focus magda seeing they had no removal in hand in game one.. if people dont start taking this deck seriously then madga wins will become pretty boring to watch really fast
@@KingCWaffa im not mad about magda winning a lot, but for example i clearly tend to prioritize ouphe effect if i play them and kinda shift my playstyle a bit around it. not to say to ignore the rest of the table that would be foolish but its hard to interact with once it starts rolling and i cant start to play mogg salvage on default just because of one deck in the meta (even if my meta consists of 4 people irl and that means magda happens a lot). i think thats what people shouldve realized by now, if fiddlebender was played more people would adapt too.
@@KingCWaffa i get a feeling people acknowledged winota faster and while she had sucess in tournaments it was not that (deserved) medial hype that magda got. whenever i play a deck that has the option to go beats in whatever small degree i even go for the ad naus necessary when there is one deck most of my interaction cant target.

@@Master_Spliff oke jasper
In my opinion, the proper card to declare with consultation is”weakness” so you can smugly declare “my deck has no weakness”
I'm gonna use this
I had the realisation that with SNC you can tell your opponents to sleep with the fishes for when you're thoracling
I love that wincon for magda, so cool and smart.
I'd rather use altar of the brood, it's faster 😂
@@lucaswalker824 but it is more "certain" to win if you exile their cards. No shuffle titans etc.
I am waiting for the time when Stifle enters the meta. At that point, letting your opponents draw their decks might go horribly wrong.

That does trigger Gitrog draw ability so Noah would have lost unless he was able to discard Ulamog at instant speed.
That’s funky he did lose because of that
@@letsflyfun He had an activated ability that only had the cost "Discard a card". He could discard at instant speed.

Can someone explain why at 6:20, Magda searches for LED? Would they not need it if they already have infinite treasures thus infinite mana?
Discard his hand and shuffle it, so he doesn't exile them to memory jar and thus mill himself

Maskwood nexus is my all star in magda too, of course not cheesy with the winter orb and clock of omens combo lol but its still fast
I love these longer videos! More games, more gameplay!
In game 3 at 17:10 how could Noah float a colorless when at that time it was a mountain?
It is because he can not generate Red mana due to playing Gitrog, so it can only make colorless.
