The last time I rebuilt my well house plumbing I swore I would get one of these. I used 1-1/2" & 1-1/4" SCH 40 PVC from the well head to the pressure tank with all the various fittings, valves, and unions it was a lot of cutting with a hand shear. I had to take breaks every few cuts due to carpal tunnel syndrome. I will definitely be getting this tool the next time a rebuild is required. Couldn't agree more on your thoughts about 1/2" stuff. Hand sheers don't bother my wrists cutting 1/2".
Like the review & the HONESTY. I have their copper pipe cutter & used it a lot, doing our camp., Yes, the manual copper cutter works too. But, like you, figured it was worth the $$$ Keep up the great reviews 👍👍👍
Wait, didn't you make some flat bottoms for those small batteries, or am I hallucinating? I've thought about getting the Ryobi version of this to install an in ground sprinkler system that I've been planning on doing for the last ten years. I hear you about arthritic hands and them not working quite as well as they used to. I wonder what else a guy could use these to cut?
Hi Bruce Yep a peice of pine , drill a hole and hot glue the the flat bottoms on the battery. Ya my hands can't cut pipe all day long , that's for sure.
Thanks Steve for a real review as you always do. I. think this is perfect if you do a lot of pipe cutting especially if you have issues with your hands or wrists such as carpel tunnel or arthritis. I don't do a lot of. pipe cutting and I use the $10.00 cutter when required........Take care, Bluefin.
Good Morning Steve, Thank You for your OUTSTANDING informative video and Yes agree with you about who should buy that cutting tool and Like our friend Gator was saying it could be for other missions tasks or such as cutting small electric wires ? Cheers 😇👌👍🍻
I would not buy one but not for cutting pipe but for loading and pruning trees....I would be curious to have that for the camp....if you try it on that let me know ....I would maybe get one for the camp and carry it in the Mule.....CHEERS
Hi Gator I cut up a neibours climbing bush , about 1 inch , looked like grape vines . It cut it like butter . It's made for pipe but yes it cuts branches too . I wouldn't try over 1 inch.
Lol thanks steve, nice you see that the average diy wouldnt need it. Whenever you can find a review thats not paid for is the way to go, well ill take that back, i dont mind paid reviews as long as its honest, rare but do happen. Thanks steve for being you! I dont have to live with ya so i can say that lol GREAT JOB
I love tools as much as the next guy. I will take your advice and save myself $300 bucks though. It is a cool tool though and I love Milwaukee stuff. I don't do enough cutting pex pipe at the moment but one day I might. Never know.
Another home gamer talking about a tool that provides a roof for the pros. Shit I love mine. But it’s what feeds me. The hand ones is only good now for a quick job that may be a distance an ya don’t want to carry it for a quick cut or two. But for real plumbing work. Its definitely a home run
Ya choke up on the tool an hit the safety with ya thumb a your pointer for both triggers. Whichever ya need. As another said. Like a car ya don’t need ya foot on the gas an break at the same time
Hey Steve. It is a great tool, you're right, but it's overkill for me, so ya, the average Joe could get by without it. It would make a great ring remover 😂 Talk to ya later, Kenny.
Hi Kenny I think it's a trades tool for most . I built a diesel powered log splitter and it's much the same , why do you need a diesel engine on a log splitter 😅😅

Yes absolutely on the larger diameter stuff this is the way to go.
They are basically the same idea as the branch pruners. Makes me wonder what a pair of those would do to plastic pipe🤔
Interesting idea. 👍
Very cool tool. I wouldn’t use it Steve but I get why having something like this is extremely handy when you actually do need it. Thanks Buddy!
Hi Doug
Something different that's for sure but yes most have no use for this tool. Cheers 👍
Nice rig! I can see folks using this for pruning in the garden as well!
Take care Steve✌
Hi Marc
Branches yes plus I did a heavy duty coolant hose for a diesel engine , cut like buddar 😅
I use it to cut bamboo in the garden.

Hi Les
The old hands are wore out so this is a great alternative to tylenol 3 . LOL
This isn't a DIY tool, it's a professional plumbing tool. Make 200 cuts daily on SCH40 2"PVC and tell me it's not worth $300
👍

I got a pair of the 10 bucks kind that are dulll. I need to get a pair of the ratcheting ones. Don't really need a battery powered one.
Hi Chase
These are mostly bought by trapespeople or people with arthritic hands :)
For someone who has carpal tunnel and arthritis and loves to do diy I am definitely looking forward my purchase. Just got it today.

Hi Bud , yes $10 cutter for most is all you need.
Great review Steve!
Thanks!

Thanks Bob 👍

I agree something one may not need but if cutting much 1 inch and bigger it is a nice tool to have
Hi Terry
It's a nice to have but not a must have.
Lol! Great video.
Yeah, I picked up one of these and I love it. Probably didn’t need it, but what the heck, it’s just amazing.
👍
That is one mean tool Steve. That could be a Mafia finger nail clippers👈😲👉
Hi Lloyd
Yes absolutely I could see Hollywood putting this in a movie scene 😅

LOL thanks Jason. 👍👍
I think its cool I bet you will be doing some DIY squirrel houses or pipe at the camp~! Or other PVC pipe projects.
Hi Annie
It is a cool tool most have no use for but for me I have some ideal ideas for this in the future.
You don’t have to remove the guard to remove the cutter. Use Allen wrench remove bolt. Then remove cuttet
is anybody try to cut PPR pipes? i want to know if the tool is able to cut 40mm PPR pipe
Abs , pvc pipe cuts like butter.
How's she goin'? Nice review Steve. For my needs I'll stay with the small hand operated one. This looks good though. Take care!!
Hi Mike
Yes stick with the $10 cutter . This will be awesome for my unique future projects. Cheers 👍
@@SteveRobReviews I'll be looking forward to them. Being done at the camp I expect eh!!
At home for this project .
I use mine to trim branches off trees.
I need one, been cutting branches all day!
Yes it works great for branches too.
what about HDPE pipe?
I never tried it .
the black cutter is what we use because our guys sometimes lose them
Hi Keith
I bet a lot of stuff gets lost over time as this would be an expensive tool to loose :)
Niece cutter Steve.
Hi Papa

Yes absolutely, save your money 👍
@@SteveRobReviews Thanks SR
I'll stick to the $10 tool if I only had to do that job once or twice .
Hi Johnathan
Absolutely 👍

new toy for steve but not for me I cut pipe maybe once a year not worth the investment but for someone who likes playing with his pipe good buy lol
HAHAHA 👍

I got mine for free as part of a tool deal when i bought a pex a expander
Nice 👍
got mine for 50$ cad, use it for pvc using a hacksaw for me doesnt give yhe best cuts lol
Nice, $50 👍
To be honest buying any milwaukee tool as a diy guy is not necessary.
Milwaukee is mainly used by companys.
@@alfi341 Entirely a personal choice depending on budget and desire. Cheers
$170 with tax bare tool on amazon
That's a great price 👍
I'll listen to you and not buy one. 😂
I do have a cheap ratcheting one that has severed me well
Hi Dave
That's all you most likely will ever need. 👍
@@SteveRobReviews what? To listen to you?? 😂🤣😂
