WOW! Great story and an even better lesson. Thanks for sharing.
If it saves someone’s fingers it’s worth it. Thanks for watching.
I trust any professional who’s humble and open regarding things they’ve done that went wrong…glad you’re better and thanks for the honest review (I just bought one because of your demonstration)
Thank you. That’s probably the best comment I’ve ever had in a video.and for god sakes know where your fingers are at all times. This till is very unforgiving but still awesome.
Worked awesome when repiping a front house or back house or when I ran copper air lines for shop air . People talk bad about it but when your making 3-400 cuts in a few days for a big job it’s worth it’s weight in gold . Even our old school hard head foreman loved it
It really is the greatest thing since sliced copper.
Refreshing to hear a fellow plumber speak so well! If that accident had happened to me, I would never ever insert my finger in there like you did without pulling the battery!
Removing the battery was not an option when I hurt myself. I was using to make an actual cut on a pipe. Thanks for the compliment
@@masterflowplumbing9812 I was referring to your demonstration after the fact.
Thank you for sharing. I have much more respect for this tool now
Me too. Believe me. Thanks for watching
Rumour has it Lorena Bobbitt has just ordered one. 😮
Yeah ouch.
I love mine as well. It saves so much time and fatigue when you’re cutting copper all day long. Milwaukee just released a new version that cuts from 1-1/4” to 2” copper. It is only just now arriving at sellers. In fact, Ohio Power Tool just started selling them this week. I will be getting mine this week from my favorite place down the road.
Thanks for watching
Thank you for the humble warning.
You bet. Be careful out there
I'm a service plumber, and I have that cutter. It is the best investment I've made. But it is dangerous.
Yep. I rarely use a regular tubing cutter anymore. It’s amaze the spots this one will get in ?
Thanks for sharing it will help many save themselves from a tragedy to anyone , sometimes we forget about little kids or teenagers running on parents tool carts and we have to explain safety also to them . On the m12 and m18 regular drill speed 1 it has power if your not careful it can twist some hands hehe it’s great to always look out for safety …
The newer drills have anti kick back which actually works fantastic.
Great video and educational.
He bit my glove and tore it off.
The gloves protected my hands, I was lucky.
I just didn't pay attention for a moment.
But it's a very useful tool, I like it, it saves my hands from a lot of work.
I build a lot of gas lines from 28x1.5 mm pipe, it is quite difficult to cut by hand, this machine helps a lot.
I already bought the "Raptor" version, stronger and good for steel.
Regards
From Hungary !
accidents do happen
Happened me there fortnight ago broke my index finger took a lump outa my nail, surprisingly not a painful as it looked at the time
Ouch
Thank you so much for sharing that story. Definitely helped me out a lot. Awesoome video🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching
Crazy to see your story here. Yesterday I was cutting a pipe that was about the width of the tool. With gloves on, holding the pipe from spinning, pulled the trigger. Pipe spun anyway and cut right through the leather glove and deep into the pulp of my thumb. I yelped out loud when it happened. Finished the water heater and thought that was pretty dumb of me. Probably should've gotten stitches bc it's having a hard time healing in the inside knuckle of the thumb.
Stay safe, the tool doesn't know to stop.
Sorry it happened to you too. And yeah ironic the timing. Thanks for watching
I helped out a plumber at for five months one time and I bought this to the second day after having to cut about 50 pieces of pipe manually. My wrist locked up with me so I went straight to Home Depot. The worst thing of it is the guy has been a plumber for over 30 years and he doesn’t even have this tool, he just doesn’t the old fashion way. Which is crazy when you need 200 pieces of 3 inch pipe for 40 mixers.
it is an awesome tool just watch your fingers
I’ve had a few of these and I’ve found them amazing for 3/4”. But for 1/2” not so much. . Multiple springs in the head breaking. We’ve gone through a bunch of them. Might just be bad luck!
Hmm. Odd. I’ve never had any spring issues. I do notice from time to time that half inch will sometimes misalign and not cut. But a quick redo and everything is fine.
@@masterflowplumbing9812 Well my guys aren’t the most gentle. I know it’s important to make sure it’s lined up perfectly for 1/2”. We still love them! And to be fair, all of our tools crap out sometimes. Just the nature of things.
I bought one, I'm trying to set mine up to cut 1/2" EMT conduit, I use really short pieces that have to be cut good and straight.
Did you get it to work ?
@@masterflowplumbing9812 yeah, I bought a stainless steel blade for it and it cuts 1/2" EMT real good
So basically you sold the hospital staff on a new tool for amputation toes and fingers.
Glad you kept your finger. I may have to get one. Have you tried pex in it before out of curiosity?
Lol. No it won’t cut pex.
Wish I knew about you when I lived in MI
Awesome story sorry that happened to you sir. I just have 1 question about that copper cutter, I’m an electrician and we occasionally have to cut pvc pipe with wire inside; would that m12 cutter go through pvc pipe sizes 1/2, 3/4, and 1” as well?
im thinking no because pvc and copper tubing are different outside diameters ..but because its spring loaded it might ..
i do not have a piece lying around to try
the tool was intended for copper
I somehow got my figure wrapped up in that thing one time cutting some 5/8 stainless. Still don’t really know how I did it and I’m lucky I didn’t lose the tip of my finger.
Yeah it ain’t hard to do. Gotta really pay attention. However this tool changed this plumbers life for the better
It’s funny the dude in the video starts sticking his fingers in it with the battery in, on the video telling us about him getting injured by it 😅 it’s really no wonder. I’ve never put my fingers only copper pipe inside of it because it’s meant for copper, but I’ve only been plumbing 5 years and I’m 21 what do i know. It’s kinda like when people are shooting at the range and turn around and wave the gun at everybody. Just have a little common sense is all.
I love this tool got it from the time it came out but this scared the hell out of me lol
Doea it work for 1/2-3/4 EMT?
No idea. But it works for copper.
Mine gets my sweater every now and then 😂😂
Yikes. Be careful
Love mine. Can’t wait till they come out with one that cuts 1 3/8 and 1 5/8😂
That would be awesome
@@masterflowplumbing9812they just came out with one
House plumbers 😂😂😂😂😂 I do love this I did a medical bldg Med gas and heating and plumbing pipe
I’m not a house plumber. I’m a service tech.
@@masterflowplumbing9812at least you’re honest lol go get your plumbing license
Can anyone with this tool let me know if you can cut 1” couplings in half. These will be slightly larger than a 1” pipe so hoping someone can confirm before I purchase.
I’d say no. One inch is the max size And that’s based on pipe diameter not coupling. I can’t imagine why you would want it to do this but I’m sure a old school rigid 100 would do what you need
I just got one and it doesn’t cut anything but 1”😊
Are u sure? Mine cuts 1/2 and 3/4 also
To může být rád, že neměl Raptor INOX
Thanks for watching. I think
I'm just unboxing one of this, but after saw this video I decided to return it to the store
You shouldn’t be afraid of it. Just respect it is all
Junk. Mine breaks down all the time. While under warranty I had to take it in at least 3 times because it would not reset after the cut. This happened 7 times in 3 years period. The tool company that works on these told me they are constantly fixing these because of the heads not working right. I own all Milwaukee cordless tools but they dropped the ball on this i ended up buying the DeWalt cutter and yes I have to switch heads from 1/2" to 3/4" but at least it doesn't break down all the time and it cuts twice as faster than the Milwaukee.
Funny how things work and can vary. I’ve never had a single dewalt tool ever last for me.

Thanks for watching. I think.
Cant trust that tool but she sure is a good one🥴
I know right
When you demonstrate where your finger was in the tool, remove the battery or else you will re-demonstrate your finger getting caught in it.
I won’t be but twice.
Wrapped my wrist in it before caught a sleeve somehow and pulled my wrist in not sure how lmao was fine tho
That’s good
Seems more like rookie plumbing channel??
Can I have a link to your channel ? I’m interested in your template for perfection. I’m sure I could learn much from a master like yourself.
wished i seen this before my other comment on your other post.. you really are a being a hard on to this guy . why dont you start a channel . also disregard the advice i gave you up above. your too stupid to listen to anyone other than yourself.. i weep for the future
@@masterflowplumbing9812 As a certified master toilet mechanic I endorse this comment.
Great tool for plumbers! Absolute dog shit for HVAC. Eats line sets alive.
I mean who ever said it was good for hvac? Typically refrigeration copper is a different outside diameter than plumbing copper. It makes sense it would not work good. Thanks for watching. We appreciate it
@@masterflowplumbing9812
Whoever said it was for plumbing either. It says copper tubing cutter so I assumed it cut copper tubing. Thanks for that jackass response.
Finished the job. Lmao. Wtf
That’s what you do when your customer has no water and they owe you several grand.
@@masterflowplumbing9812 Nah, go to hospital, your customer isn't worth losing a finger, call another plumber, cover the added cost if you feel bad, thats just foolish
@@masterflowplumbing9812 You've got some soft lads commenting on this video. I remember as an apprentice in the mid 90's (England), early morning smashing my thumb with a lump hammer on a cold chisel in a filthy Victorian crawl space.
Absolute agony.
My thumb looked completely destroyed, I thought it would have to be amputated but the fitter I was working with, a real old school hard as nails type just made me wrap it in PTFE tape to seal it and get back on the job.
We used to fit a gas boiler and full radiators system in a day and he wanted it finished.
I kept having to re-tape it as blood started to leak out again.
We got the job done and still had to do it all again at 7am next day.
It healed up and returned to normal surprisingly quickly.
It's a different world now.
Presenting all that tool and story with battery in it is just not right.
Thanks for watching

Licensed plumber here……not a good look for your business when the title says nearly lost my finger then video starts off with “Masterflow Plumbing channel”!!!
And guys like you have chased away all the young folks from joining the trade with that very attitude of yours. I suppose you have never got hurt before on the job never had stitches. Can I get your autograph
Sorry to disappoint but I am the younger folk.
Rule number one for anyone working for me is I would rather you take little longer to do the job than for them to hurt themselves being in a hurry.
@@justinaustin6565 well young man you were obviously taught by the very person masterflow described in the above comment exchange with you . id guess your father or an uncle or something.. who ever it was im glad they passed the trade on to you its good to see the few young people getting into the trade. Unfortunately whoever taught you also seemed to have given you the very arrogance the mastflow guy is talking about and its bad for the profession as a whole. that stuffy arrogant holier than tho attitude chases away young people away from getting into the trade, your generation (not necessarily you) are some of the biggest pansie azzed bunch of lazy kids ever to exist..dont take that personal my generation raised yours its our fault ..but still the same dont do the trade further harm by passing on the arrogance just teach someone. i think masterflow is doing a good job in that aspect , there is always more than one right way to do things ...your way is just your favorite..#behumble
Happens to the best of us and, by the way, in EVERY trade.
Been doing hvac for 28 years. It’s junk! Well maybe just soft drawn copper and that cutter is a awful combination.
It’s not made for soft copper.
I will cut type k, just takes a little longer.
